He was the guy who continually praised China for doing a wonderful job ... at the same time President Trump was doing the same thing!

Will Biden put an end to the madness of the Trump presidency? 20 million unemployed might just push him over the line.

As the legal course is unlikely to get you a successful result, but may also see you financially exploited by lawyers, the question is how much does the mother need your money? Money may be the only leverage you have.
Also, you never explained why the mother would do this? What changed in the relationship that led to this?

Trump’s comments and Fox News support for this drug not based on clinical trials, just anecdotal reports. Professional trials are required before any conclusions can be made.

Unfortunately the world is full of human beings who are too trusting of others, and the world is full of other human beings who can identify that trait and take advantage of them without conscience ... and that’s been going on forever.

I’m not sure how long any country, least of all Thailand, can close down its economy for? Without a proven vaccine we are likely to see more cases when the lockdown is relaxed. So in my view a prolonged lockdown doesn’t solve the issue unless we have either a vaccine or a medicine that can stop coved-19 from killing those who are badly affected by it. Perhaps we should open up and let it burn out, whilst attempting to isolate and support those who are most likely to suffer from it?
Closing down a building site doesn’t change the above. My guess is that countries will have to open up their economies soon or they will have a bigger catastrophe on their hands. There are no solutions that are pain free, sadly.

Quite so. Thailand has been shooting itself in the foot on tourism, and the economic chicks are coming home to roost.

Return as superheroes? Mmm ... if I show up at the hotel and the manager’s wearing red underpants over his trousers I’d probably cancel the booking.
Tourism will take a considerable amount of time to pick up. Social distancing on flights will mean significantly higher fares. The economic impact has yet to show its face, but when it does it will be ugly and depressing, and few will be willing to spend money on travel anytime soon.
I think the world economy is in for a much tougher time than most people think.

Put the baht back to 65 to the £ ... and get rid of fat munter bar girls ... and we’ll be back with a bang ... quite literally!

How would Thailand defend itself without the submarines?

Then they will have to open up the economy or people will be taking to the streets. Impoverishing the population will end his premiership.

I wouldn’t worry. They are hardly likely to open the borders unless people who want to leave can. We’re all living in crazy times.

Look out for one of those submarines in the moat.

I suspect the bars will still get their regular customers, but I don’t think the tourist traffic will pick up anytime soon, only when people are convinced that the virus is no longer a threat.

There is a theory that younger people can die from this if they are exposed to a high viral dosage ... so people like medics, taxi and bus drivers, etc are in that category. A high dose of the virus to begin with allows it to spread extensively before your immune system kicks in, and your immune system is effectively overwhelmed. Might explain some deaths of young people without underlying conditions.

Another point.
You have an account on the Amazon website. And every book you have ever bought via kindle is on there. If you damage your device or replace it you simply just transfer the books onto your new device. So you never lose anything. I’ve just done that as I bought a new iPad mini recently.

I have an iPad and I use the Amazon Kindle App. So I select a book on Amazon, and it downloads onto my App. It works perfectly, and the great thing is that I can travel around the world and still access every book I’ve ever bought. In the past even a few books would increase the weight of your suitcase substantially. And of course you have all the other functions of the iPad available to you.
i just think this is preferable to a kindle reader.

sorry to say you obviously know nothing about bitcoin.
bitcoin when from $0.0008 to $19,783.
or how it works. how it is designed and what lies in the future. you should look to in. i made $30,000 USD on a very small investment.
our computer scientist at work turned me on to it in 2011.
if i had bought more i would have potentially made millions of dollars. many did.
right now i am almost all USD and waiting for "blood on the streets" to jump back into something.
this is the greatest single black swan event in history. but there is way more pain to come.
Tulip bulbs were all the rage in Amsterdam once. I’m not sure that Bitcoin will ever demonstrate any utility, so I’d categorise it as a pure speculation ... money you are comfortable losing.

I’m a fan of “cash is king” at the moment, financial markets have yet to be updated on the full economic damage of this event, and the possibility of a second wave would make things worse. As far as investments I’d focus on those companies that will survive the crisis and thrive when we come out of it. Retail has been trashed and many companies will simply go out of business, the survivors will thrive under less competition, particularly those with a strong (or exclusively) online service.
But I wouldn’t rush into anything, I think we are in for a long haul. Job losses and business bankruptcies will be devastating.

I reckon I could live in a Japanese capsule hotel, as long as you are out and about during the day. I wouldn’t like to be on lockdown in one though.

In Thailand most people live outdoors so you only really spend time at home in the evening and when sleeping. Studios are easy to clean and maintain, and you are forced to be economical with the “stuff” you accumulate. So it has its advantages.

I used to think the US was the place to be, but since visiting dozens of times for vacation and work I’m now of the view that it’s only good for tourism. Who wants to work all year and feel guilty if you take the 10 days vacation you get from your employer, who can can you anytime they like. Nope, I agree with the OP, you can keep it.
