A city with a population of 11 Million people where a deadly Virus was allowed to be transmitted, a City which was the main site of departure for Tourists to Thailand from China.
IMO ( but I am not a Virologist ) is that there is only One Virus, and thats the One that was released from Wuhan.
They mutate ... but all roads lead to Wuhan.

Another scandal in the making ... incredibly difficult to administer something like this and keep it corruption free.

I reckon by the time they develop a vaccine most of us will have contracted it, many asymptomatically. It transmits like a motherfecker!

I can’t see lockdowns lasting much longer as there comes a point where the economic and social impact of lockdown outweighs any other consideration. So hopefully all teachers will be back to normal fairly soon. No country, however wealthy, can sustain this for long.

SARS-Cov-2 is a virus, so antibiotics have no effect. Did Trump not say a few weeks ago that he understood this stuff?

Maybe a solution would be a mass debt write off, worldwide. Countries, business and domestic (household). It has been talked about it before. Now might be the time

With that approach the only people in the future who would get a loan would be people who don’t need one. Banks would go bankrupt and depositor “loans” (because that’s what they are) would disappear.

Do some research on Jim Rickards, he has supposedly predicted a lot in the past.
If I predict a recession every month, one month I’ll be right. That’s Jim Rickard.
n.b. I spell his name correctly only to get it “corrected” as Richard.

I can’t see the point in an alcohol ban. Nothing wrong with sitting at home and having a couple of beers. Impact on Coronavirus? Zero!

My girlfriend said thank you many times. Even after years together.
And my ex-wife still says thank you to this day.
Does she thank you for the divorce settlement? Lol.

People like Jim Rickards and Peter Schiff are predicting financial meltdowns every month ... and like a stopped clock they will get it right sometimes. I think we’re in for a sharp and deep recession, 16 million additional unemployed in the US in a matter of weeks, many companies not operating, some may never recover. The market has rebounded strongly but companies and governments have yet to provide updates on the economic damage. When they do I’d expect the markets to fall hard. No recovery until 2021 at the earliest.

But are you seriously suggesting that we should be in complete denial of the existence of burglars in the UK just because we are posting on a Thai expat website? Or is this the reason why we should IYHO only be placing the spotlight on burglars in Thailand as part of some Grand Thailand Demonisation Project?
There are no safety nets in Thailand, more people will be impoverished by the actions relating to the virus, and “Rich” foreigners not only stick out like a sore thumb, they also get little protection from Thai police. So if you are a foreigner in Thailand you should be on heightened alert.

I thought the idea was better privacy and security as well as access to web content that is not available from Thailand?

I’m wondering how those millions of Indian workers who no longer have a job can feed themselves and their families? And it’s only just begun to spread in Africa.

Do you want to warn us? If yes, that's not how you warn someone.
Are you implying that we should keep an eye out for thieves that are Thai? What about other nationalities? We should trust them, then?
It's common sense that in hard times like these when lots of people lose their jobs, crime rates will rise because people are desperate to survive. It's up to each of us to protect ourselves. No need to point fingers or mention nationalities.
I suppose if you are living in Thailand and know someone who was robbed in Thailand, and you’re posting on a Thai expat website, you are hardly likely to be warning people about UK burglars?

I liked Kev, his vlogs were informative and he was a pretty cheerful type. So RIP Kev.
As for his illness, and lack of insurance, I’m not sure that his illness was treatable. I recall at the time of his announcement looking it up and discovering that a person’s life expectancy would be severely shortened. However good your treatment you are living on borrowed time.
But for anyone staying in Thailand long term I think a good insurance package is an absolute necessity.

Seems to me he didn't want her to have it. Lots of men put their property in their wives names. Now where will he sleep? Charcoal is probably good for keeping the virus out but breathing it in while sleeping wouldn't help him or her.
It’s a condo. So maybe in his name? Maybe she didn’t want him to have it?

Common sense requires a moratorium on visa requirements until this pandemic has cleared. An initial three months, subject to renewal.
The money earned will be wiped out by the impact of spreading the disease on the hospital system.

Sometimes viruses mutate to the point were they are mild, and affect fewer people seriously. The virus wants to live, and can only do so in a live "host". The 1918 pandemic came in three waves, with the second one the most deadly. A combination of herd immunity and weaker mutations led it to burn out.
China are still experiencing new outbreaks, but I suspect there will be a measure of herd immunity at play, together with social distancing and better hand cleaning. This too shall pass.

Admitted to an Intensive Care Unit and being put on a ventilator are two different things. Glad that you have now googled that so you can admit your error.
He's still not on a ventilator.
A medical specialist quoted in the Mirror said it was “highly likely” that he would end up on a ventilator. I’m guessing that those who require oxygen at this stage of the illness swiftly progress to ventilation. I wish him well but I don’t think this looks good.

Indeed the numbers are surprisingly and exceptionally low. Do we trust Anutin's figures? He tends to report cases involving dirty farangs.
His numbers are an understatement for sure ... there are far more "dirty farangs" than he imagines, quite a few in Pattaya.

I'm impressed by how serious some countries are taking this, and pleasantly surprised by the actions taken in Pattaya. The US is a disappointment. I thought that they would handle it very professionally. I read that a pandemic team were fired by the Trump Administration ... I wonder if the US would have been ahead of the curve if that had not happened?
