  1. You may want to check out an interesting youtube channel by a young man called Cash Jordan. He reports on NYC from the ground, what is happening these days.
  2. Not sure if it is a five star anymore, but the iconic Roosevelt Hotel in NYC. Or The Row New York City. I believe it was a 4 star, but will that do in a pinch? More than 1300 rooms, the city is paying $5 million a month to rent the whole place as an immigrant shelter. The Crowne Plaza at JFK airport is getting $2 million a month as a shelter as well. Average payout is about $350 per room per night overall in the city.
  3. Wasn't me. It was another poster, Interpland (sp) who started it with a snide comment about Trump and his bone spurs. You are scolding the wrong person.
  4. Both used legitimate student deferments. Both, at any time, could have chosen NOT to use their student deferments and volunteered to go to Vietnam. Both used their student deferments as long as possible and then washed out for medical reasons. One was an asthmatic lifeguard, the other a bone spur plagued baseball player. Let's put this 50 year old meme to rest, shall we?
  5. Newsweek had an interesting 'on the ground' report from Springfield. The Haitians displace locals by working cheap. Housing spirals as 20-25 people often occupy one dwelling. etc etc. https://www.newsweek.com/springfield-emblematic-americas-immigration-death-spiral-opinion-1953366
  6. Yeah, that nasty asthma that Joe's doctor said he had ten years before... I am sure totally legit. Be honest, both avoided the war by student deferments as long as they could. Either could have volunteered for service at any time, but chose not to.
  7. The article also notes the huge growth in social services, welfare etc being used. Also health care and education being overwhelmed. And housing being priced out of reach of residents. Of course business leaders were happy to see them- a compliant workforce they could exploit for low wages that the residents would not accept.
  8. Or ol' Joe, who could have foregone any of his five years of student deferment to serve his country. But somehow chose not to...
  9. Yeah, can't argue with you there. I have seen the light! Gonna throw my support behind Kamala now.
  10. Actually, Trump only dodged the draft 4 times. It was Biden who dodged 5 times. But that is not really important.
  11. AFAIK the Georgia law has the usual exceptions for rape incest etc. Also doctors are fully allowed to help any woman in distress or having health issues. I think the two victims were sadly misinformed by the media and believed the hysteria peddled by abortion supporters like Harris. So if you want to lay any blame, that is the place to start.
  12. I can tell you one. Axios (hardly a Trump supporting organization) recently asked the Harris campaign about her position on immigration- getting the Dreamers citizenship and expanding amnesty for illegals. She refused to answer, and refused to even talk to Axios about the subject. https://www.axios.com/2024/09/23/harris-dreamer-protections-immigration
  13. Nah, his diapers are lined with platinum and aluminum. Covers up all embarrassing wafts. Being rich has its privileges!
  14. More like the pungent aroma of bullsh!t overpowering the smell of the roses.
  15. Ah, the uninformed paranoia of the belligerently ignorant. Nice to see it on full display.
  16. Thank you for proving my point. There is no tax on wealth. And if Harris tries to introduce one, it will kill a large part of the economy. But she doesnt probably understand that, since she has been safely attached to the government teat for most of her adult life.
  17. Well, that is true, I must admit. Beautiful place 4 months of the year, none better. But terribly boring and full of generally dull folks. As for being on a Thai forum, I own property in Thailand and will probably be retiring there, at least on a part time basis, in the next year or three.
  18. I do? Really... you may have me confused with someone else.
  19. Keep shifting. You are now talking about wealth, not income. AFAIK, there is no wealth tax.
  20. Now you are shifting the goalposts. At first, you said that Musk didn't pay his fair share. Then, you refused to define what his 'fair share' would be. Now, you are discussing Tesla a publicly traded company in which Musk is a minority shareholder. Stop being so slippery.
  21. Here is a link from CNN to how much he paid in taxes. What evidence do you have of his cheating? Or is he actually following the law as it is written. https://edition.cnn.com/2022/02/10/investing/elon-musk-tesla-zero-tax-bill/index.html
  22. Nope. Your assertion, your burden of proof. AFAIK, he paid about $11 billion in federal tax in 2022.
  23. Not really. We have a parliamentary system that is similar to the EC. In our last election, for example, the Conservative party won the popular vote. But, the Liberal party won more seats in parliament, so they got the opportunity to form the government. It encourages parties to be mindful of all regions of the country rather than concentrate support in small areas. I wasn't happy with the result, but I recognize the winner and believe in the system.
