  1. Not blaming them because Vance won in spite of their interference. Merely highlighting why Republicans are not surprisingly reluctant to appear on these kinds of debates.
  2. OOh OOH can I take that one? Yes, he did.
  3. When the debate moderators agree not to fact check, but they actually do fact check, that's bad. When they only fact check one of the candidates, that is worse. When they fact check incorrectly, come on man..... This is why I would suggest print journalists over tv talking heads as debate moderators. They don't have the ego problem that the news anchors and correspondents have. The unstoppable need to interject themselves into the scene. Plus the constant "well, we are moving on, we have a lot of ground to cover..." BS. What, is there a checklist of topics that they have been assigned? If so, they missed a few crucial ones.
  4. On the issues that Americans actually care about the most- immigration and the economy and inflation, the GOP is ahead. And Vance also trounced Walz. The mods tried to save poor Tim by pivoting to unimportant stuff like January 6 and who won the last election. It really didnt work, and to most voters really doesnt matter. I was very surprised that there was no discussion of the Ukraine/Russia war, not of the threat of China.
  5. Interestingly, Walz actually spoke more than Vance in the debate, according to CNN. I guess what he had to say just didn't matter that much. JD was succinct and meaningful.
  6. Whether or not Trump wins, Vance has positioned himself well for 2028. His performance was stellar. He dispelled all the corporate media BS about him being unlikeable or strange. His performance was smooth but not slick, his personality really shined through. Even the liberal media are admitting that Walz got bodied.
  7. Vance is dissecting Walz. A masterful performance. Tim has lost his folksy 'charm' and is flailing badly.
  8. And here we are. COmment number 6 and we start the "b-b-but Trump!" mantra.
  9. Perhaps. What is Harris' excuse?
  10. Oops…
  11. I like the term "defestrated". I think I will use it repeatedly, in a holistic way.
  12. No more than I believe any other politician will do everything they say. They are all BS artists. Trump just happens to be better than most- I guess that comes from being a New York City native. I just look at past performance.
  13. Wow. Very droll. I see you lean more towards the "clapter" kind of comedy rather than anything actually humorous.
  14. It was always a bit frustrating to me. I found him to actually be quite a good interviewer when he put in the effort. He is obviously a smart guy and well read. But he would always fall back on that point- "hey, I'm just a comedian" when he was uncomfortable or when his guest was making good points.
  15. I do? Who would that be... You are quite the mind reader. A talent that a lot of people on the left seem to think they have.
  16. I like Jon, he is clever and often quite funny. But forgive me if I don't take my political direction from a comedian who often pretends to be a journalist.
  17. Saw it. Trump lost, but not the way you think. He lost his cool and got caught by some clever work by Harris and the moderators. On the facts, he did well. Harris had no answer to any of the important questions. Instead, she goaded him into imploding. He shouldn't have taken the bait. But it is obvious that the more people hear Harris, the less they like her. It is hard to see how she can keep running away from the serious issues for another 5 weeks.
  18. Trump at least has a track record as President. Barring Covid, he would have been re-elected without much trouble in 2020. The economy was rocking, there were no new wars to worry about, and it looked like the Middle East was calming down (Abraham Accords). Harris' track record?
  19. Perhaps, but the democrats also chose a deeply unserious and lightweight candidate who makes it a very hard choice for a lot of people. Had they had a real primary (before Joe lost his marbles) there would have been a different and better choice made. Someone like Josh Shapiro would be wiping the floor with Trump by now. But Harris is almost uniquely pathetic.
  20. Any organization that lets Iran chair a council on human rights needs to be eliminated. Waste of valuable real estate. And money.
  21. Partially TBH. Biden was beatable more easily. Also it shows the rank hypocrisy of the left. They claim to be tbe party of fairness and openness, yet they brutally defenestrate their candidate and replace him in a classic coup, directed by powerful interests im tbeir party.
  22. Maybe so. But he could have at least cancelled his beach vacation and gone back to Washington to coordinae directly with FEMA. . What lie did I tell? The only lie was Biden lying on the beach while America suffered.
  23. Again with the racism..... when will you give it up?
  24. Uh, I think Obama was president at that time...
  25. I seem to remember a certain President Bush being pilloried by the media during a hurricane, for flying over but not being on the ground.... guess the rules have changed since then. At least they could have shown a bit of character and gone back to Washington to coordinate from there. Hobnobbing with Hollywood snobs and relaxing on a sunny beach while Americans die is not a good look.
