  1. Yesterday's man. Time for Thailand to Move Forward.
  2. Well put. I think some people live in a fantasy world when it comes to meeting women!
  3. Herpetophobia. My wife hates it, but geckos in my home die.
  4. Backstreets by Bruce Springsteen.
  5. He was a good PM, but I think his time has passed. Time to move forward.
  6. What part of @spidermike007's post makes you think he "hates" Thailand? Can't people who live here criticise the culture/people?
  7. Is it really common for tourists to marry bargirls? How do they fit it in if they're only here on holiday? It's difficult enough for expats who live here, to marry in Thailand and even more so to get their girl a visa to marry in their home country.
  8. Nice one. I've been with mine for 10 years, 7 years married. "Which one is the whore" is not really the right question. Which one was "the whore" is more accurate, although using a pejorative term like that is not what I would use.
  9. That's great, thanks (on behalf of the OP). But there's nothing on the website that answers the OP's question. In my experience faxing and calling is pointless, hence raising it (again!) on this Forum. Hopefully someone here might have actual experience of doing it.
  10. Indeed, they're not for everyone. However, they are a big part of life in Thailand for many; hence the numerous threads like this one.
  11. No. Just a phone number that is rarely answered!
  12. 10 years?! Can we really afford to wait that long?
  13. It certainly does.
  14. Strange question really, as it depends on your and her living costs. It used to be common for a husband to give their wife "housekeeping" and money for things like clothes and make-up. If she's not earning any more, how is she expected to survive? 5,000 baht a week seems fair if it's just for her. A lot more, if she's paying for the household's food etc.
  15. Indeed, but I doubt the bus driver does either. He was just seeing if he had a gullible passenger!
  16. Thanks. Just shame to see an interesting thread being derailed.
  17. Nope. Better to stay on topic. This thread has meandered into silly baiting. Why not start your own thread about Aussies vs Brits rather than hijack this one?
  18. Did he marry a bargirl? Otherwise, why is your beef with a neighbour relevant?
  19. The OP didn't say there was an argument. The driver was trying it on, and would happily have continued with his new passengers without the 10 baht.
  20. Maybe she's a cop or the Thai informant?
  21. I suspect he was trying it on and worth him doing so as many have admitted they would pay. If you had just shrugged your shoulders, smiled and walked away nothing would have happened.
  22. That's true. I can only speak from my own experience. Happily married for 7 years, and our anniversary happens to be today. ????
