  1. I know; it got a 'good' deal. But it's a condition of re-joining.
  2. Britain won't be able to re-join easily (we'll need to adopt the Euro for a start) but once Labour take over next year expect an ever closer union relationship. If only Starmer had the balls to say so!
  3. As the OP you can ask for the thread to be closed.
  4. @ChrisKC Did this get resolved? I'll be renewing my PulseTV sub later this year, so it would be good to know that the "new" payment processes are working. Cheers.
  5. Interesting. Thanks for the update.
  6. I was quoting @Callmeishmael who referred to his Non-O Marriage visa. Just wanted the OP to be clear that this didn't apply to him.
  7. Not at all. But being conservative generally means being resistant to change.
  8. I think the 10,000 baht includes the cost of the passport itself, not just the agent's fees.
  9. Or Chiang Mai. VFS/HMPO have an office there too.
  10. I'm glad to read that. Maybe I misinterpreted your comments. Apologies. Live and let live!
  11. It's a generational thing. Some conservatives/traditionalists have always found progressive change uncomfortable. Being gay was not accepted by some, many years ago. You'll get used to it and hopefully let people live the life they want.
  12. Sounds like VFS have made it sound like a requirement as a sneaky way of making extra money!
  13. It's a Lao website address and refers to VFS in Vientiene. That said, VFS/HMPO are likely to have the same policies in all Asian countries. As @benlovesnuksays, you should follow the gov.uk instructions. A DNA test is certainly not a requirement for a child's first UK passport. https://www.passport.service.gov.uk/overseas/information/thailand/first/child/thailand
  14. That's for Laos and is very badly written. The HMPO website makes no reference to a DNA test being required for a child's first UK passport, and unless it's changed very recently, it certainly wasn't required when I got my child's first UK passport in Bangkok. https://www.passport.service.gov.uk/overseas/information/thailand/first/child/thailand
  15. Yes. Progressive countries like the UK have allowed people to change the gender shown on their birth certificate since 2004. I don't think Thailand does, but once the new government are in office I would expect it to change.
  16. In Thailand you can only do the A1 IELTS Life Skills test at either IDP or The British Council. Unfortunately, I think both only have UKVI approved Test Centres in Bangkok.
  17. As long as you have all the required documentation, translated into English if in Thai, and counter-signed photographs, then I'm sure you can. The child doesn't need to be present. Will you give your UK address as the child's address? I might be missing something, so see what others suggest.
  18. The 12,000 includes the price of the passport and their fee.
  19. You quoted Webfact's post. Learn how to use the quote system, if you don't want people to misinterpret your posts.
  20. That's not what you wrote; you were replying to this post: "Others shared harrowing accounts of being coerced into sex work and compelled to consume drugs against their will."
  21. Anything between 5,000 - 10,000 baht.
  22. Do you honestly believe that the average Pattaya bargirl has been trafficked and compelled to consume drugs against her will? You should take your evidence to the authorities!
  23. No. Good luck if you want to start one.
  24. I would think so. Heterosexuals are the majority and don't need to campaign for equal rights (any more).
