The artefacts should be repatriated to Cambodia, if anywhere. It was their forefathers who built the mighty Khmer temples and set the foundations for what become Siam. Thailand takes the credit for these ancient monuments, and mantises them for tourist dollars, but they had zero input. 

Does anybody have experience of the HSBC expat account? I'm thinking of opening one as they are more expat friendly. The minimum requirement is to keep a balance of 50,000GBP.

They also have an InvestDirect account for expats, which is slightly more expensive than other brokers, but HSBC allows non-UK residents to trade in UK markets with such accounts.

Just don't tell them that they're Khmer artefacts! Or that the religion came from India.  

This could be done with a little bit of common sense from the check in desk, simply by visually assessing passengers. 

Oh, wait... Thais don't have common sense or the ability to think for themselves. 

Does anybody know the cost of driving a Khmer registered car from Cambodia into Thailand via the Chong Chom border crossing next to Surin province? The fee seems to be on the Thai side.

Or vice versa, the cost of driving a Thai registered car into Cambodia.

Most of the earlier items are from the Khmer empire, so there's a reasonable case that they should be sent to Cambodia.

What is the Thailand Age of Consent?

The Age of Consent in Thailand is 15 years old. The age of consent is the minimum age at which an individual is considered legally old enough to consent to participation in sexual activity. Individuals aged 14 or younger in Thailand are not legally able to consent to sexual activity, and such activity may result in prosecution for statutory rape or the equivalent local law.

Thailand statutory rape law is violated when an individual has consensual sexual intercourse with a person under age 15. However, sex with a minor under age 18 is a compoundable offense, regardless of consent.

Thailand does not have a close-in-age exemption. Close in age exemptions, commonly known as "Romeo and Juliet laws" in the United States, are put in place to prevent the prosecution of individuals who engage in consensual sexual activity when both participants are significantly close in age to each other, and one or both partners are below the age of consent.

Because there is no close-in-age exemption in Thailand, it is possible for two individuals both under the age of 15 who willingly engage in intercourse to both be prosecuted for statutory rape, although this is rare. Similarly, no protections are reserved for sexual relations in which one participant is a 14 year old and the second is a 15 or 16 year old.

Perhaps you need to look more deeply into laws before you Google and check the first result.

In previous years I've always obtained a multiple re-entry permit at Chaeng Wattana. 

This year I'm going to try at DMK airport as it says on the immigration website they can be 'filed at Passport Control (International Departures) in the Airport on the date of departure from the Kingdom.' (https://bangkok.immigration.go.th/en/re-entry-permit/)

Is the one-year multiple re-entry definitely possible to get from DMK? I've done single re-entry permits before at the airports and they take 20 or 30 minutes. 

Any experience of the process at the airports? 

The CCTV shows the man holding her by the legs while she dangles from the window. He could have been doing it to scare her then dropped her accidentally, or he might have been trying to save her and lost his grip. 

One thing's for sure, we can have faith in the Thai police to honor the dead woman's life by investigating the case thoroughly and definitely not being 'persuaded' to forget about it and move onto the next one.
