  1. Can't say I've heard of it before, nice customer service IMO. Ask if there are any fees involved (other than perhaps postage I doubt it) and if it would be activated with roaming enabled. Cost of keeping the SIM active will depend on the carrier, see https://help.mobiletopup.com/knowledge-base/how-do-i-extend-the-expiry-date-validity-of-my-sim/ You could always get a friend in Thailand to do it for you, grab a SIM, activate it, bump it to 12 months validity, make sure roaming is enabled then mail it to you if you want to cut the bank out of the equation.
  2. Excellent point, I doubt it would. ID is uploaded along with a photograph, not sure if they still offer video call or not.
  3. Not all, e,g, you can activate AIS online now (not sure about others).
  4. I think it's called "projecting".
  5. People still peddling that propaganda chestnut? That quote is in relation to the former East Germany, nothing more. “The topic of ‘NATO expansion’ was not discussed at all, and it wasn’t brought up in those years. … Another issue we brought up was discussed: making sure that NATO’s military structures would not advance and that additional armed forces would not be deployed on the territory of the then-GDR after German reunification. Baker’s statement was made in that context… Everything that could have been and needed to be done to solidify that political obligation was done. And fulfilled.” Mikhail Sergeyevich Gorbachev (2014)
  6. No. You're pretty much making a mountain out of a molehill. Don't worry so much, it's not good for your health 555
  7. There are risks in everything you do, it comes down to how risk averse you are. Yes, someone can dob you in if they feel like it, yes you leave yourself open to extortion by the BiB if vaping, yes there have been reports of undercover cops videoing people vaping at bars (they don't report you to immigration, they will pick you up there and then and show you the video so you know they have you bang to rights), yes they are still banned with the penalty of up to 30,000 Bht and 10 years jail (obviously not going to get that just for getting caught vaping in a bar), yes people, Thais and foreigners, continue to vape. Your choice, but if you do get pulled up, don't just bend over but don't be a dick about it either: https://www.thephuketnews.com/frenchwoman-deported-for-vaping-70535.php#:~:text=She posted bail of B100,was to collect her passport.

  9. That's the one I posted. You can buy that one and your initial one for 700,000 Bht ????
  10. I would say your guess is way off the mark and it's not just about tourists. Prior to covid there were times I don't even go out until around 4 am. There are (or where prior to covid) clubs that don't really get started until the sun comes up - and not just Thailand, world-wide.
  11. It's got to be tough living in the country deemed to be "The happiest" for the past five years ????‍♂️
  12. A bet I wouldn't take. As I said, personally I couldn't but then again, each to their own. I stayed at the Holiday Inn, Sukhumvit Soi 22 in Bangkok for a few days when it first opened, standard room is 28 sqm (the reason why I now check room sizes when booking hotels!), almost went stir crazy and that was basically using it as just a place to sleep, no way could I "live" in a place that size or smaller. Speaking from experience? ???? A hot sugar mommy (or two+) could be fun but sadly time is slipping away.
  13. It's not about renting it for 2K, it's about the 18-20K per month dead money the OP is currently spending on rent.

  15. Uses the mid-market rate not the Visa rate which the OP is interested in.
  16. I asked someone on FB why the asking price was 300K extra for a foreigner for a place advertised as Thai or Foreign quota given it wouldn't be anywhere near that even if it had to be transferred ... surprisingly no answer ????‍♂️ ????
  17. The ones I've seen have been either (i.e. the foreign quota hasn't been filled) or specifically mentions foreign quota. Case in point, the one I mentioned above:

  19. There's been a few of them popping up, that one certainly looks in better shape than the ones I've seen. For example, saw this on FB earlier today for 350,000 Bht. Way too small for me personally, by the time you get a kitchen in (if desired), a bed and wardrobe and try and do something with what passes as a bathroom won't be much room for much else. But I could see it having potential if someone can handle the size.
  20. Wander down to Sukhumvit and flag one down, I never bother with taxis sitting waiting (unless official taxi rank in other areas) especially in Soi 11.
  21. @brianthainess No idea, it's not something I particularly pay attention to. If there are any other DLTs that accept tourist visa/visa exempt hopefully someone on here will pipe up. If not, it's not that much of a hardship to head to Pattaya if someone really wants to get a licence.
