  1. If you often transfer cash from overseas it's worth looking into (excellent rates and low fees - up to a point, when getting into the 10s of thousands of dollars the fees start getting a tadge much). Also a few other handy things can be done with it. Not sure if you saw the edit I made before you replied, try your debit card (assuming it's Visa or Mastercard) using PayPal - you don't need a PayPal account to use it to pay for something.
  2. Nah, if a hotel pulls that BS you push them to give their bank details or tell them to stuff it. In your case, you could always open a Wise account if you have time and use that to transfer. Or try PayPal with your debit card, don't need a PayPal account.
  3. Just that hotel, others have the cheek to ask for a copy of both sided of your credit card!
  4. That plus by January their vax rate should be good enough to ditch it IMO.
  5. IF you regularly travel back, one option would be to get a one-way flight to the UK and then a return UK-Thailand with Emirates to get their free travel insurance (get the return flight a year out and change if needed to maximise cover). At the moment the free insurance offer is due to run out at the end of the month but it has been extended previously (ticket just has to be bought during the offer period). https://www.emirates.com/au/english/before-you-fly/multi-risk-travel-insurance/
  6. Good point, forgot some people lived in "unsafe" countries unlike the UK, USA etc. 555.
  7. 800K 2 months before and 3 months after anniversary, remaining 7 months minimum of 400K.
  8. Cambodia’s government announced plans Tuesday to reopen the country in several stages to fully vaccinated foreign tourists starting from the end of next month. The program beginning November 30 will allow visitors who are fully vaccinated against the coronavirus to skip being quarantined if they stay at least five days in designated areas, the country’s tourism ministry announced. The first such areas are two seaside provinces, Sihanoukville and Koh Kong, on the Gulf of Thailand. https://www.afar.com/magazine/cambodia-announces-phased-reopening-for-vaccinated-travelers
  9. Unless they change the bank guarantee back I can't see them going above 1 million. Before the O-A insurance kicked in it would be a safe bet they'd grandfather existing retirees, since then a precedent has been set so interesting times.
  10. It only kicked in in 2019 but definitely a dog act (<--- some Aussie slang for you 555). RE has been shooting up for years (e.g. worst place being Byron Bay which used to be a backpacker/hippy joint, median price increased by $1,286,000 from May 2020 to May 2021). to change the rules without grandfathering is disgusting IMO.
  11. You seem to be (purposefully?) missing the point. For a company with more than 30 years experience in the business you would expect it to have reviews all over the place. Given the hand-wringing that went on when they brought in insurance for Non O-A you would have thought by now this company would be a well known name in the market.
  12. Why on earth would he apply for quarantine when he's fully vaccinated?
  13. What part of "Certainly would be interested in feedback from people that have had dealings with them." is flaming?
  14. What you don't seem to understand is it's not all about you. Pull your neck in.
  15. You do seem somewhat triggered by the response to your earth shattering discovery. If a company can't even get scam reviews on it's own page that should tell you something.
  16. Time will tell, the change to the requirements where allegedly partly justified by the change to foreign or Thai insurance.
  17. You can't just jump between blue zones in the first 7 days. If you can't get the single jab recognised perhaps look into Samui-plus.
  18. Well they've got a total of 1 review on their FB account (gives 1 star and telling people not to use them) so I'm convinced.
