  1. No argument there. But the reality is out there for everyone to see and it's up to them how risk averse they are. What is the alternative for the Thai government; let a potentially infected person, who may even have a new strain, wander around on the off-chance they will be fine or do the right thing if start to get symptoms? I think the policy of only those closest to a positive result being held is a good compromise all things considering.
  2. It's a government sanctioned 3rd party. There is no government website where you can acquire it.
  3. Not just aviation, there's a few such as maritime too. I asked the question of the initial poster on the extremely remote chance he was a greenie and was calling it "silly" due to the water usage. But ...
  4. STV, pretty <deleted> visa IMO but would work in your situation, if you can handle the requirements your good to go for 9 months.
  5. It's not like you'll be free to just wander around on landing so a fairly superflous question IMO. If the ATMs after immi are open that'd be your best bet to tide you over.
  6. Do you mean upload not download? If so, what file format do you have and what file format does the site accept?
  7. That has nothing to do with your initial post that I replied to but in any case, see above re due diligence - in these times if someone doesn't find out exactly what they are getting themselves into it's on them.
  8. If you don't "have it" you won't get on the plane; "it" being insurance. If you haven't done your due diligence and obtained insurance that covers this eventuality that's on you and yes you'll be out of pocket, call it an IQ tax.
  9. And you carried on with a rant. A water salute is a celebratory tradition that goes back years and has nothing to do with disinfection. But I do have to agree with "Dumb and dumber", just not directed at the Thais.
  10. It's bad enough with, in certain areas/countries, being constantly surveilled by government agencies in public places or businesses looking after their establishments (not saying that in the vast majority of those cases it isn't a result of legitimate concerns) but I'd certainly draw the line at some random spying on me in my "own" home.
  11. Having a security system is great. But if it had remote uploads/notifications anyone other than myself had access to all cameras would be turned of permanently. Tell the voyeur you're not an exhibitionist (and keep an eye out for a new place a month or so before the lease is up, he might be dumb enough not to want you to renew).
  12. Plenty of people have used Chrome and various other browsers. If a specific browser doesn't work ensure it is up-to-date or just try another.
  13. For those on SS they just need to upload proof when it asks about insurance.
  14. One report on here somewhere of that happening. Personally I'm sceptical given if you are refused at BKK the airlines are responsible for getting you back and in this case face being fined, airlines aren't that accommodating.
  15. Your existing policies are fine as long as they specifically state they cover Covid.
  16. They have always accepted international policies. The recent change (replacing 40/400K Bht for a US$100k policy) was in part "justified" by them as due to the problems with older people getting insurance via a Thai based company.
  17. They don't ask for visa but they do ask for length of stay so could come down to how economical you are with the truth. The speed at which some people are receiving the TP suggests they aren't checking anything in some cases.
  18. Or just do it yourself without an agent and it's a pittance.
  19. Still possible but highly unlikely. If a Thai is coming back into quarantine, no Government mandate for a pre-flight test; airlines of course may have their own rules. Test and go or sandbox/blue then they also need pre-flight test.
