  1. The changes where enacted in 2018 and only affects landlords that have 5 or more properties.
  2. Either ignore it or if it's compulsory, upload passport again.
  3. Good to know which battles to fight and which to walk away from; life's too short to worry about things that don't matter.
  4. If whoever it was on FB still wants to argue, show them the TP screen:
  5. Unless they are willing to give you a cover letter stipulating it covers you for Covid, IMO, it will be rejected. If you have time and everything else sorted could always try it while looking for a policy in the case it gets rejected.
  6. Travellers must download and install the specified alert application (MorChana), and must wait within the accommodation only for the test result, which should be available within the day. Bullet after point 8 If experiencing no symptoms, travellers must use the provided ATK for COVID-19 self-testing on Day 6-7, and show the result to staff at the hotel or accommodation, as well as record the result (both detected and non-detected) in the MorChana App. Second bullet after point 9 https://www.tatnews.org/2021/10/quarantine-free-thailand-reopening-for-vaccinated-tourists-from-1-november-2021/ Latest update notes from the app itself: What’s New - Add QRcode scan connect Thailand Pass system - Add form page to connect to Thailand Pass system https://apps.apple.com/us/app/morchana-หมอชนะ/id1505185420 ---------- Personally I wouldn't worry about it, deal with it once in Thailand if necessary.
  7. It's a requirement, whether anyone uses it is yet to be seen.
  8. Love the last pic with the social distancing ... after god knows how many cocktail parties pressing the flesh and wheeling and dealing.
  9. Yes, going rate seems to be around 3500 Bht.
  10. It's basically a freebie (ignore the price) way for people to stay "during an emergency" that wouldn't qualify normally. Yet people still bitch and moan about it. I would wager there is a miniscule amount of people, if any, in Thailand using a covid extension that is genuinely stuck in Thailand. If people are caught out when they eventually stop issuing them that's on them not the Thai Government.
  11. Can you post a screenshot, no idea what FAQs you could be seeing.
  12. Redo it again, quite a few people reporting instant results today in the other thread.
  13. Test results to be within 72 hours before first flight. Depending where flying from, flight could take 24 hours. Therefore, test in Thailand could be up to 4 days after pre flight PCR. Now think about the latent period (time between being exposed to the virus and being infected and the time when it is detectable). "For Delta, one study suggests this is an average of four days (with a range of three to five days). That's two days faster than the original strain, which took roughly six days (with a range of five to eight days)" Hence, people being tested positive on arrival may well have been infected when the pre flight test was undertaken but they where in the latent period. They could also have been exposed and infected just after being swabbed and be detectable on landing. Could also be exposed and infected on the flight and not detectable, hence the ATK on day 6/7.
  14. @The Cipher The post I was mentioning from memory (might be worth pinging FalangTingTong, he may have followed up on checking with other hotels already).
  15. Immigration don't really care about return tickets (no issue getting the TP), the issue, if entering visa exempt, is the airline might not let you board without an onward ticket within 30 days. Flying Emirates you get free insurance so in your shoes I'd probably get a return as far out as possible (maximise insurance coverage). Grab a throwaway onward ticket* to ensure no hassle at airport. Then you can amend the return flight at you convenience when needed. * Basically a ticket that for all intents and purposes is real (if checked in the system), you just can't use it. Plenty of places out there for around $10-15 such as: https://onward.flights/ https://bestonwardticket.com/ https://onwardticket.com/ https://onewayfly.com/ etc.
  16. That I'd be checking direct with the hotel; there was a post yesterday (I think it was) and a guy had been told 2 days by the hotel (Marriot from memory) quoting him their normal checkout and checkin times which IMO is ludicrous as these aren't "normal" circumstances. The main issue being the CPR timing i.e. does the affiliate hospital have staff to do the tests at the hotel on call 24/7, if not can they arrange to have the swabs done at a testing centre/hospital on the way to the hotel or would you have to be taken to the hotel and then tested first thing in the morning. If having to do them first thing in the morning that could cause problems with a noon checkout. I would think there'd be a hotel that would be accommodating (even if you get tested first thing in the morning you should get the results back around 2 pm (ish) so not that much over normal checkout) but might take a bit of tracking down.
  17. They know the date from your hotel booking, they know they time from your flight number.
  18. No worries, threads like this help keep me up-to-date with the ever changing landscape over there so it won't be too bad when I can escape and get back there 555
