  1. Note the infographic isn't worth the pixels wasted on it. The insurance does not have to be via a Thai company, Thailand Pass will be at https://tp.consular.go.th/ not the URL in the first column. The COE is not required although they list it in column 2.
  2. And the URL in the first column for Thailand Pass may be wrong (changed to https://tp.consular.go.th/) nor does the insurance have to be a Thai company as they claim in the first column
  3. Hence them slipping in the ATK: "If experiencing no symptoms, travellers must use the provided ATK for COVID-19 self-testing on Day 6-7, and show the result to staff at the hotel or accommodation, as well as record the result (bot detected and non-detected) in the MorChana App." Second bullet, point 9: https://www.tatnews.org/2021/10/quarantine-free-thailand-reopening-for-vaccinated-tourists-from-1-november-2021/
  4. To get back in? US$50K (the 400K is in Bht and relevant to the "old" 40/400K insurance requirement O-A needs at all times).
  5. No, your initial flight determines the 72 hours.
  6. Yes. As long as you go from Thailand > safe country > to Thailand the 21 days is waived.
  7. 1 Yes 1b No 2 Yes 3 First 4 Yes 5 Yes/No/Maybe
  8. To be honest, not sure how the "app" rumour got started on here, from day one it was referenced as a "new portal". It will be live at https://tp.consular.go.th/ The fact they didn't just spend half an hour - an hour to tweak the existing COE site is beyond me. Can only put it down to "TiT".
  9. Point 2 in the article ("specified platform" being Thailand Pass once it's up and running). https://www.tatnews.org/2021/10/quarantine-free-thailand-reopening-for-vaccinated-tourists-from-1-november-2021/
  10. Yes, but they still only have Quarantine or Sandbox as an option; half an hour, hour max to add "quarantine free" option and negate much of the confusion and angst. Early days obviously but still no reports of someone using a 1-night booking and been successful. Hopefully start see it in a couple of days now packages are being published.
  11. That complicates things for sure. I can't fathom why they didn't just tweak the COE site to include a 1-night option; at least in the interim. As it stands people are having to book 7 days and then get a refund from the sounds of it. Fingers crossed they surprise everyone and get Thailand Pass live ahead of schedule.
  12. As I said, I have no issue if it dies a natural death. My point was it didn't stop, nor will it stop, tourism before Covid and in all likelihood it actually to some extent helped.
  13. Noe of which are directly related to the "sex industry" that you and others have an issue with. The people that keep bleating about Walking Street should be bull-dozed obviously didn't fly much given that for a couple of years pre-covid it was highlighted in the descent video into swampy as a main tourist attraction.
  14. Natural decline I have no issue with. I do take umbrage to those that move to an area and want to gentrify it, "spoiling" it in the process (not Thailand specific). Personally, I couldn't give a rats if 99% of the go-gos never reopened, but that's based on what I enjoy, it's not for me to project what my "enjoyment" is onto others and deprive them of theirs.
  15. Did the sex industry curtail the rise in tourism prior to Covid? "Just askin'"
  16. I actually think they are ahead of the game with these changes compared to their normal timelines; but the COE/Thailand Pass issue is still there to remind us TiT ????
  17. That's a definite, due diligence definitely the order of the day in these times. But, he decided to bite the bullet and is heading to Phuket for a week instead (personally I thought he had time for the details to be worked out but he didn't want to chance it as flight is on 1 November).
  18. Until they release costs for 1-night packages it's not even possible as far as I'm aware. Unless they are guilty of false advertising, that has already been dealt with or they wouldn't be accredited. The two I mentioned I came across when helping a friend (was surprised at the lack of SHA+ to be honest). I can't see these hotels (both 5 star allegedly) or Agoda false advertising (well, regards to such a critical issue at least), there would be too much bad PR if people got in the proverbial: https://www.agoda.com/en-au/swissotel-bangkok-ratchada/hotel/bangkok-th.html https://www.agoda.com/en-au/the-berkeley-hotel-pratunam/hotel/bangkok-th.html
  19. There are heaps of SHA (doesn't take much to upgrade to SHA+), off the top of my head The Berkerly in Pratanum and The Swissotel in Ratchada are SHA+.
  20. Perhaps reread the thread before casting aspersions. All you've done so far is highlight your lack of comprehension and nasty streak.
  21. He better have a word with the CCSA then. " Entertainment venues, pubs, bars and karaoke shops in these areas will have to remain closed for the time being." https://thainews.prd.go.th/en/news/detail/TCATG211023104321970
  22. With all due respect to our esteemed fellow BMs, a consensus doesn't mean much depending on the cohort involved in reaching it, even less so when they have no direct input on the topic. The wording has always stated when the result was issued as has numerous reports from those that have actually been through the process. "4. Medical certificate with a laboratory result indicating that COVID -19 is not detected, using RT-PCR test, issued no more than 72 hours before departure." From the checklist supplied to airlines from the Thai Embassy in Canberra: https://canberra.thaiembassy.org/wp-content/uploads/LastUpdateDocs-Checklist-for-Airlines-use-10-6.pdf Bottom line IMO is it's a moot point, given the relative ease of acquiring same-day if not 24 hour results a person would be stupid not to be swabbed within 72 hours to negate issues with interpretation.
  23. Two separate issues, visa and travel pass (you need to use both).
