  1. Good question. I tend to lean to the more optimistic side though and think that if you have been in Thailand for a while (regardless of visa/extension) and you're just popping to e.g. Singapore for a few days you'll be allowed back "quarantine free".
  2. Cunning way of looking at it but not sure a lab would comply with such a request. From the logic side of things I was thinking more along the lines of what timelines do they really want given initially some places where taking a couple of days for results. Of course, one argument in favour of the clock starting from the result is that the delay between being swabbed and arriving "could" give infection time to show on the Thai PCR (although Delta reduced the window).
  3. Although it could be argued it somewhat goes against logic, Thailand has always started the clock from when the test results are issued not from the swab being taken. Latest wording being: "A Medical Certificate with an RT-PCR lab result indicating that COVID-19 is not detected issued no more than 72 hours before travelling." 4. It doesn't have to be a Thai company and yes he needs to ensure it specifically mentions cover for Covid.
  5. I think you're over inflating potential issues here. What "failures"? An outage once in a blue moon that may last a few hours. Lost or stolen phone - get a new one and reinstall the app.
  6. I never said you did, hence the line break after replying to your post. No it doesn't it, as I already stated, the important coverage lasts 31 days. 6. What is the duration of this coverage if I have a one-way ticket? For one-way tickets, the following benefits end 31 days after your arrival at your final destination outside of your country of residence: x Emergency Medical Expenses x Emergency Medical Evacuation/Transportation expenses x Emergency Dental Treatment x Repatriation of Mortal Remains x Hospital Daily Cash Benefit x Overseas Quarantine Allowance All other benefits will expire 48 hours after you arrive at your final destination outside of your country of residence. https://c.ekstatic.net/ecl/documents/before-you-fly/multi-risk-travel-insurance-faqs.pdf?h=_4vFoemLSIMxG_zq0fsk6g
  7. "For returning Thais and foreign residents, it is not necessary to be in an approved country for 21 days or more, as long as they are travelling from Thailand to the approved country/s and return within the last 21 days." Second bullet point under point 1: https://www.tatnews.org/2021/10/quarantine-free-thailand-reopening-for-vaccinated-tourists-from-1-november-2021/
  8. Round trip = covered for full length of trip, one-way ticket = 31 days coverage. Very reasonable IMO. --- I see no reason why it wouldn't be accepted for O-A or O.
  9. "Thai Prime Minister, General Prayut Chan-o-cha, signed the entry guidelines for the quarantine-free reopening, published in the Royal Thai Government Gazette last night (21 October 2021) along with two other announcements on relaxed COVID-19 controls in 17 Thai destinations." https://www.tatnews.org/2021/10/quarantine-free-thailand-reopening-for-vaccinated-tourists-from-1-november-2021/
  10. I think people have a wide variance on the definition of "major scam" dependant on their normal lifestyle.

  12. Is now, the list of countries actually published is blown out to 46.
  13. Be pretty hard to miss the colour scheme they've gone with I would imagine. Pretty ugly facade IMO but it will do the job.
  14. Cool, I figured from their spiel they weren't new to the game and the wine drinkers here would have bumped into them. I reckon they popped up in my feed as that ubiquitous spy saw me looking at a wine fridge for sale in FB marketplace 555
  15. I wouldn't worry about it. Depending on the Embassy they've been holding off on final COE until closer to the flight - less hassle if something changes e.g. if tomorrow you change your flight to say 27 Oct you would need to get a new COE if they had already finalised it. It would be nice of them to communicate that policy instead of leaving people hanging but ...
  16. Not much of a wine drinker but just had this mob pop up in a feed. Perhaps of use (can't say I remember seeing the name on here but can't say it would have stuck if I did)? VinesToVino Pattaya NEW head office is now open on Thepprasit Road. While our main business is supplying Hotels/Restaurants, we are open to the public: Tuesday-Saturday 11:00-14:00 (closed Sunday & Monday) We have our own exclusive ranges which cannot be bought in Supermarkets and Shops. https://www.vinestovino.com Looks like they deliver (minimum 12 bottles). Example of some reds (8 cheapest and 8 most expensive) to see if you recognise any and if any are at least semi drinkable:
  17. Can't say I disagree with your points ... don't forget the sexual discrimination too. My comment had nothing to do with that though; more taking the mickey out of the person I quoted (bit rich wanting to throw those on Non O under the bus just because it didn't work out for those on O-A). IMO the only upside to an O-A is to get basically 2 years out of it without having to deposit money in a Thai bank. I see no reason to use it for extensions (obviously Covid more than likely screwed up a lot of people that where using it for 2 years then getting another one and some got stuck on an extension, which initially it was claimed wouldn't require the insurance - which would make sense to me because by then they've got the foreign money into the country sitting in a bank).
