  1. Yes, you have to read the small print the buggers try and sneak in. But, the post I was correcting was the claim the insurance has to be via a Thai company which is false.
  2. I'm not into predicting the future. As it stands, there is an insurance requirement that does not have to be a Thai company.
  3. Except you're not; you are required to have US$100K coverage, up to you what company you go with.
  4. There's a difference between being prescribed a drug and someone taking it because they read something on the internet (which happens too often nowadays).
  5. Not as tricky as you may think. Numerous people have done it since this kicked off; met at the airport by staff - as you say, many good animal facilities in Bangkok. Although not sure what proportion have travelled as carry on.
  6. Embassy/consulate sites around the world do tend to have mistakes/outdated info/different rules; I think they do it on purpose to keep us guessing ????‍♂️ Classic example, you guys and Brits can use evisa whereas in Aus they still want passports mailed in.
  7. No. Read further up (general requirements). STV has extra accommodation requirements hence they are, badly, pointing it out.
  8. Just so happens I just posted a link in a similar thread: If you ask in the FB group I mentioned I'm sure you'll get a reply.
  9. There aren't any as far as I am aware (based on numerous reports from people in your predicament). I'd suggest asking the question in a FB ASQ group I somewhat follow: https://www.facebook.com/groups/298606387906884 There was quite a few asking about it earlier; not been one for a while, but no doubt you'll get some good advice in there re catteries/kennels if you can't postpone. It's also monitored by ASQ hotel reps so if anything has changed I'm sure one of them will pipe up too. If you can hold off until the first week in November you may have better luck if plans get solidified.
  10. Well if that's the case, they can always drop the bully-boy tactics and go cap in hand to Australia.
  11. He can do quarantine in Phuket (assumiing he can get a direct flight). List of hotels: https://thaiest.com/blog/phuket-alternative-local-state-quarantine-alsq-hotels
  12. Have had the S9+ since it came out (2018?). Excellent phone and likely around that price bracket by now. Edit: just had a quick look on Lazada. Few options for them in that price range but for (allegedly) brand new genuine phone just under 11K https://www.lazada.co.th/products/original-samsung-galaxy-s9-plus-s9-g965fd-mobile-phone-snapdragon-845-62-12mp-nfc-phone-6gb-64gb-dual-i1058400100-s2362240611.html?
  13. You apply for the COE in the country you are flying out of regardless of your passport country e.g. a pom heads to Turkey for a couple of weeks on the way to Thailand applies for a COE from Turkey not UK.
  14. In that case just check to confirm what visa your extension is based on. If Non O forget about the 400K/40K insurance.
  15. Sounds like you already have the visa? If so, check your passport. Or are you intending to enter Thailand then convert to end up on a retirement extension?
  16. Where did you read that? It's still required and no doubt will be for the rest of the year at least.
