That implies there is a standard in civilian casualties in war that is acceptable or not acceptable; that zero civilian deaths in war is remotely possible and should be the goal; that there is a set civilian-to-combatant ratio in war no matter the context or tactics of the enemy. Is the BBC one of those right wing sites too? You really should read the sources of where these figures come from, even the UN will tell you. More than 30,000 Palestinians have now been killed in Gaza since 7 October, the Hamas-run health ministry says. The ministry says that the majority of those killed were women and children.
