Yes I'm talking about discrimination: The results that I linked to prove her attendance worked
-
Why should she be discriminated against? She did what was intended. “Speaking as a climate change scientist who has been working on this issue for 20 years and saying the same thing for 20 years, she is getting people to listen, which we have failed to do,” said Saleemul Huq, director of the International Centre for Climate Change & Development in Bangladesh. From her attendance at the Conference Climate scientists say Greta Thunberg's efforts are building real momentum https://www.nbcnews.com/mach/science/climate-scientists-say-greta-thunberg-s-efforts-are-building-real-ncna1059321

Exactly so my post stands "Zoom, wasn't even a big thing in 2019 before the pandemic, it only took off (tripled) in 2020." Facebook, how many participants in a video chat in 2019? How many were at the conference? Or were you only expecting Greta to do this via video and everyone else attend? What exactly is your point?

Was it updated for mass meetings in 2019? https://www.statista.com/statistics/1253972/zoom-daily-meeting-participants-global/

I link to a site that is heavily oil industry bias yet.................. LOL, so everything in the article is ok except for this snippet saying "we suspect" give me a break. It concludes "While Greta’s carbon footprint isn’t as small as she’d like due to her extensive travels, her carbon footprint is likely smaller than most." Zoom, wasn't even a big thing in 2019 before the pandemic, it only took off (tripled) in 2020. Besides which the conference was for attendees not Zoom meets. However you'll note she has not attended subsequent ones.

No not on the way back, the boat only had 3 crew, one of which was her. Besides which even the oil industry stated: "C02 through the flights of the very people who sailed her to New York, is having an effect in spurring people to abandon or at least reduce the number of miles they choose to travel by air. In the end, we suspect that the four flights generated by her trip to the US have been more than offset by shamed people who have since forgone flying. Some may still see this as an act of hypocrisy, but the resulting math still comes out ahead in favor of reduced C02 generation." https://oilprice.com/The-Environment/Global-Warming/Greta-Thunbergs-Not-So-Little-Carbon-Footprint.html

Link? Last time I looked it was 8 years ago when she was just 12. Facts seem to evade you frequently
-
She could have paid and gone by jet I suppose..............????
-
Oh so now you remembered there was a purpose to the Atlantic crossings and they were everything to do with Global Warming. Congratulations
-
Where was she sailing to and back again?
-
Because your childish opinion when you obviously didn't read the link or watch the videos in them makes it so much more credible.............lol

Assault on Kiev: Russian helicopters swoop above Ukraine's capital
Bkk Brian replied to Chris.B's topic in The War in Ukraine
Just saw this on BBC, awful news, helicopter crash in Kyiv, 18 dead including children (it crashed near a nursery), government officials onboard also dead. Looks like a tragic accident at this stage, helicopters have to fly very low and it was misty. Ukraine crash: Ministers killed as helicopter comes down near nursery Eighteen people have been killed, including Ukraine's interior affairs minister, after a helicopter crashed beside a kindergarten in an eastern suburb of the capital Kyiv. Three children were among the dead and 15 more are being treated in hospital, the minister, Denys Monastyrsky, was with eight others in the helicopter. His first deputy minister and the state secretary also died, officials said, when the helicopter came down in the suburb of Brovary. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-64315594 -
Just 3 people on a sail boat across the Atlantic, nobody is just a passenger. https://www.yachtingworld.com/sailing-across-atlantic/greta-thunberg-atlantic-crossing-la-vagabonde-125068

Link? You are in the news thread and claims need to be supported by credible links

She's just turned 20, I'm married and have a wonderful family, why would I fancy her? & what has that got to do with the school lesson you missed?

How the Biden and Trump classified documents cases compare
Bkk Brian replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Wrong even before you got to your first comma -
It was an amazing take down, he got what he deserved. ???? But nothing to do with this topic. Maybe next time he ask's her for her email address he'll be a little more polite............oooops he can't. He's in prison being investigated for rape, human trafficking and organized crime, oh and his cars, they've been seized........lol "Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg has won the internet’s admiration yet again, with her response to a controversial media personality known for his misogynistic and far-right comments, Andrew Tate, on Wednesday. The two engaged in a war of words on the microblogging platform Twitter, where Tate seemingly took a jibe at Thunberg while flexing the number of supercars he owns and asked for her email id" https://www.wionews.com/trending/small-d-energy-greta-thunberg-responds-to-andrew-tates-supercar-flex-on-twitter-he-replies-547631

That's 3rd grade school stuff: CO2 Makes Up Just 0.04% of Earth's Atmosphere. Here's Why Its Impact Is So Massive Yes I'm sure she knows, she went to school

She's inspired hope to millions, increased pressure on governments and inspired scientists to help effect change. “Speaking as a climate change scientist who has been working on this issue for 20 years and saying the same thing for 20 years, she is getting people to listen, which we have failed to do,” said Saleemul Huq, director of the International Centre for Climate Change & Development in Bangladesh.

Hopefully he'll manage to rise back up after this as I did enjoy his shows but that article was extremely offensive and he knows it. Jeremy Clarkson Has Sent Meghan And Harry An Apology Email 'I said I was baffled by what they had been saying on TV but that the language I'd used in my column was disgraceful and that I was profoundly sorry.' The statement goes on to say that he was 'mortified and so was everyone else', and even 'very close friends were furious.' As a result, Clarkson says he 'wrote to everyone who works with me saying how sorry I was and then on Christmas morning, I e-mailed Harry and Meghan in California to apologise to them too.' https://www.elle.com/uk/life-and-culture/a42523038/jeremy-clarkson-apology-email-meghan-harry/

Nobody that respects human/child rights says that. Unfortunately its a problem not only in Congo mining but also in the oil industry outside of congo, not to mention clothing, shoes, carpets. Look it up. If you read the full link that was provided apart from the selected quote you can see what the EV car industry is trying to do about it.

Elon Musk begins trial over Tesla tweet that cost him $20m
Bkk Brian replied to Scott's topic in World News
That about sums him up perfectly. On this case things are not looking good for him at all, in April the federal judge said “no reasonable jury could find Musk’s tweets on August 7, 2018 accurate or not misleading” He ended up paying $20 million to SEC but if found guilty here it could run into billions. Even the Saudi Investment company that he claims he had talks with have refused to attend the hearing. Time for pay back for the investors who have lost so much. The twitter investors must wish they could do the same. Elon has not only been deceiving his Tesla investors but in a separate case it was revealed yesterday, deliberately produced a staged video on the safety of the self driving ability of Tesla which is not just an investor problem but one that can lead directly to deaths. -
Wow the hate is real, Greta has done more than any of us to help change politicians and policy makers perspectives and attitude to a more sustainable future. I applaud her for that. Even though I don't always agree with some of her actions such as this one.
