Gary Lineker told to step back from presenting Match of the Day
Bkk Brian replied to Scott's topic in World News
"Richard Sambrook, former director of news at the BBC and director of BBC Global News and the BBC World Service, told the PA news agency: "For a sports presenter in their personal life to express views that aren't impartial, is not as serious as if it was a news journalist." The BBC's guidelines on impartiality explained - and do they apply to Gary Lineker? Lineker is a freelance broadcaster at the BBC - not a permanent member of staff, he does not present news or political content, he tweeted to the 8.7 million followers of his personal account, which does not include any link to the BBC or Match of the Day in his bio. But BBC guidelines also say people who are "clearly identified with the BBC" should behave "in ways that are consistent with the BBC's editorial values and policies". https://news.sky.com/story/the-bbcs-guidelines-on-impartiality-explained-and-do-they-apply-to-lineker-12830830 -

I have no idea who pays Dan Walker, nor do you, you also have no idea what his contract says and yes it does make a difference in tax cases. The case centres on a contract that Kelly signed in 2012 - through a company she runs with her husband - to present Lorraine, as well as her former show Daybreak which ended in 2014 when Good Morning Britain was relaunched. "Judge Jennifer Dean ruled that the relationship that Kelly had with ITV "was a contract for services and not that of employer and employee". -

Its not my interest, its your claim that you know. When its clear you no idea what his contract terms are. It makes a big difference for any potential court case as demonstrated with previous contract top earners who have won their cases working for large media companies. I won't bother providing a link here as its off topic but feel free to PM Your claim: Because I was a freelance contractor operating via a Ltd company and subject to the exact same rules. -

So you don't know the details of his case. Was Gary working on a contract for services and not that of employer and employee? Do you know? As far as I can make out his tweet was at the policy not the Tories in general right? -

How do you know the details of the case he has? Do you access to his defense evidence? -

Agreed it would be a waste of your time trying to back up your unfounded claims. You would find this however: "I know I get called a leftie, a socialist luvvie, but really I’m fairly central’ -

I fail to see your argument, had the BBC not demanded that he was self employed this would be a non issue. There's over 100 of BBC's top earners having problems because of this, not just Gary Liniker -

It is reported there was insistence by the BBC to pay their tax through a limited company. There is a link already provided on the previous page. " Liz Kershaw, say they were forced by the Beeb to become self-employed and to pay their tax through limited companies. She told i the broadcaster did this so it could more easily fire its self-employed presenters." -

There is a clause for social media, I just posted a link, however its complicated as he's also self employed and there is a dispute going on regards that and his tax. The BBC insisted some of its top paid stars go self employed, its led to big tax problems apparently. This from yesterday. If you're self employed are you also bound by the impartiality clauses? Inside Gary Lineker’s tax clash with the BBC, which has left him paying hundreds of thousands in legal fees There’s more to the row than tweets: Gary Lineker and the BBC are at loggerheads over his clash with HMRC https://inews.co.uk/inews-lifestyle/money/gary-lineker-tax-clash-bbc-paying-legal-fees-2201702 -

Provide a credible link that has evidence there was a CIA plot. Not true, they never said they were sure it was Ukrainians or Russians, they were forged passports and the only mention was it may be a pro Ukrainian group. Along with warning against reaching premature conclusions as the investigation is not yet complete.

I think this may be in reference to a second boat, as the other one that has already been searched by German authorities and named as Andromeda was not large enough to carry all the explosives needed although explosive remnants were found on it. “Was there was a second boat and did somebody transport the explosive from somewhere else?” Mölling asked. “So that’s why I think there are pieces of the puzzle missing for the moment.” Some further details in this article on why a second boat would be needed: The Spiegel quotes a harbour master in Rügen as saying the group that hired the Andromeda were dressed like normal sailors, and that he saw them carrying shopping bags of provisions to the boat, speaking a language that “sounded Polish or Czech to him”. He said there were several men and a woman. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2023/mar/10/divers-used-chartered-yacht-to-sabotage-nord-stream-pipelines-report

Ukraine denies involvement in Nord Stream pipelines blast
Bkk Brian replied to onthedarkside's topic in The War in Ukraine
What point are you making? The article is a timeline of events so far up till 10 hours ago and starts with the first report that the New York Times broke and ends with the report from Germany on the naming of the yacht. "All in all, this investigation into the Andromeda adds several interesting details to the story, but also leaves a lot more mystery out there." -
Rubbish, prove it, those people did not vote for this bill, this was voted for by the officials, not the groups I mentioned. Same as this............ Republican lawmakers and Tennessee’s governor signed off Thursday on cutting Democratic-leaning Nashville’s metro council in half. “This attack on the Constitutional rights of Metro and the people who live here is very dangerous. It serves the interests of no one,” said Wally Dietz, Nashville’s law director. To date, a quarter of the council’s seats are held by Black members, half are held by women and five identify as LGBTQ. https://apnews.com/article/nashville-council-half-tennessee-republican-lawmakers-e5c38e8b624058adbef7861740a6962b

Christian values....lol, well as if that's not bad enough, read it again, it also includes even if you don't agree with it, framed as "person’s conscience" Remind me, who voted for this again, was it the people of the state or people like this? Anti-LGBTQ Tennessee Lt. Gov. McNally Comments On Racy Instagram Pics of Young Gay Male Enter Lt. Gov. Randy McNally, who it turns out has been openly leaving heart emojis and other encouraging comments under very racy pics on the instagram page of a young gay male aspiring performer named Franklyn McClur, who grew up in Knoxville – McNally is from Oak Ridge, but represents parts of Knoxville, where he lives with his wife Janice. They have 2 adult daughters. Mcnally is Roman Catholic. https://tnholler.com/2023/03/anti-lgbtq-tennessee-lt-gov-mcnally-comments-on-racy-instagram-pics-of-young-gay-male/ Certainly not people who have mixed raced marriages or intended to, gay's be that male or female let alone LGBTQ community. But yes as you say they could up and leave the state, their home. Fits in well with the Michael Knowles Transgenderism Must Be ‘Eradicated’ rhetoric except this now includes interracial marriage.
-
Brilliant, so based on your religious beliefs, a pastor, religious officials, judge or country clerks can refuse to marry a queer couple, a trans couple, or an interracial couple. Progress for the attack on the LGBTQ rights. "The Human Rights Campaign slammed Tennessee’s ongoing “obsession with anti-LGBTQ+ legislation.”

You saw the violent act of the break-in to Capitol, you saw he was part of that same violent mob and was among the first to enter. You know through links already supplied the only reason he did not get charged for that particular offense is because of the plea deal but you carry on with your inane rhetoric and questions such as: "So in Shaman Man's case did you see the moments where he was engaged in violence?"

Ukraine denies involvement in Nord Stream pipelines blast

The name of the yacht/sailing boat was "Andromeda" Latest info all here updated a few hours ago, source links are all in the article which is worthwhile reading: The Nord Stream Andromeda Story: What We Know and What We Don’t This could then be further narrowed down to the specific vessel the “Andromeda” through the help of several sources with knowledge of the investigation. This has now been publicly confirmed by the SPIEGEL. The Andromeda can be seen in this 2017 video from Yacht TV. https://oalexanderdk.substack.com/p/the-nord-stream-andromeda-story-what
