  1. My guess is you flag down the driver and deal with his one on one. A Thai friend got one to advertise his newly open Noodle Shop for about 30 bahts a day. :o:D Best of my knowledge most if not all are own by the driver, they don't belong to any organisation, however they do have to pay a small fee if they want to line up in a Taxi stand at a given location, ie, Lotus, Big C to take on Paxs. :D:D

  2. Yep, How long will the ARMY stay on the SideLINES(??) I wonder!! :o:D:D They have not entered the game already. :D, Things are a bit :crazy now the Army might have to do their thing like it or not.

  3. Hi

Not sure which forum this belongs to, however, here goes.

I bought an iPhone in Thailand. The salesperson "unblocked" it and gave me a sim card for 121. Really I don't use my phone very often but I have it so that others get in touch with me. At first I had 100 THB and only used about 40THB before the date was to expire so I restocked 50THB, that only made my card valuable for a further 3 days. I never made any calls in that time so now the money is lost and the sim? will expire very soon, meaning I will have no number (I think)

Can anyone explain how the sim thing works and maybe give me a better solution?

Thanks to anyone who can help

    Tony

    Hi Tony,

There are quite a few methods in your case I would do as I have done get a DTAC sim card which will mean a new number but once you are on DTAC go to one of their outlets and ask to be put on the SIMPLE option. This means ALL calls are at a rate of 2 baht per minute 24 hours a day. The good thing about this promotion is that whenever you top it up no mater the amount it gives 1 year expirey date from that date. I prefer this as I usually make calls that are about 1 or 2 minutes other options are 5 baht for the 1st minute and 25 satang after that. I hope this will help.

    Kevin.

Concur, been with DTAC for the past four years never a problem(Post Paid) is away to go if you live in country and don't make many calls, sure save the hassle of run to buy a darn old call card at 7/11 in the middle of the night. :o:D

  4. Key word CONTROL, I know in our local park many people walk their dogs very fews have leashs control of the dogs. Some of the dogs are very friendly and inact well with the surrounding, some not so well a bit and not to mention the MESS they make. So maybe the ban is a good thing, the question(??) is how well will it be enforce. My guess is it's just for Nai Harn beach, a call or best a quick visit to the Phuket Tambom Office could answer his question. Most of the folks there speak English or to be safe take the wife or a Thai friend have lunch and get your question answered. :D:o

  5. After reading countless threads on here about guys who marry thai girls then start supporting her family? why do you guys do it? its culture(not) right? to support the family but do they give you support back?

I am married to a thai girl and i would never send money to anyone in her family, if they want some money then come and cut my garden or something, earn it.

I guess some guys get blackmailed into it, if they dont give then the wife tells him he is no good!!

Im just curious to know why many guys do it?

You are married to a Thai Lady you are support that extended family whether you know it or not, in other words you are giving her money for sure so I will bet you 10 to 1 :D:o:D that some of that money is going directly or indirectly to the extended family, wise up my friend you are kidding yourself if you think otherwise. Don't mean to be a killjoy this subject but I see it and I do it, as most farangs that are married to Thai ladies, unless her family is well off/well to do and I for one in my 16 plus years in LOS has seen very very few middle class or well off Thai ladies married to Farangs.

  6. Durning a recent visit the wife and stayed at the Jomtien Beach Hotel about Bt1500, nice very nice well worthy of a WINK. We would for sure stay there on our next visit if space permit. :D:o:D:D:D

  7. Yes, Yes it can and does all the time in LOS and other spot around the world. I know three girls that are friends to the wife that met their boyfriends on the net. Three neighbors, two UK, one Aussie that are married to Thai ladies they met on the Internet(6years, 4years, 2years) Will it last(??) who know!! So far so good for them all. I wish them the Best. :o:D:D:(:D:D

  8. I think they really do care, but for reason I can't explain or understand day in and day out I see kids as young as 9 or 10 maybe even younger going 60kph on a motorbike HELMET(??) don't make me laugh, down a narrow Soi or hanging on for dear life as mom turn the corner on the motorbike. Maybe it just a SANOOK thing to do, let the kids run wild have fun, noway they know how it would feel to see that sanook sanook kid in a coma. SAD

  9. i need some foliage to spruce up my balcony and would even consider some garden furniture. Does anyone know where to buy such items???

You are in the Gardening capital of the world my friend. You can buy supply items almost anyplace Homemart, Tool Pro, Global House and countless road side shops. :o:D:D Go for it, :D help make Thailand a beautiful place to live and play.

  10. Go Veggie, it tasty and great for the Heart combine with a little light exercise, short 10 mins walk three times daily. See many many Vegetarian(Veggie) shops/restaurants around my town bet your is like wise, check one out for a tasty no meat, low fat meal my very best guess is you will be glad you did. Just ask a Thai neighbor, bet they can tell you where the nearest restaurants is in your area. Good Luck, DON'T give UP go for IT lose those extra pounds. :D:o:D

  11. I think Thailand will make progress when some of the back biting/back stabbing stop for that to happen it wil take a very strong political leader that is wanted and trusted by at least 80 percent of Thai citizens> A real healer and dealer so to speak, now now stop laughing so hard, just look at what happen in the U.S. on 4 Nov 08, not to say the new U.S. leader will be that great, but it is a doing good start, it will be tough to be any worse than W. :o:D:D
