  1. Great weather, easy going people a few bad boys here and there but for the most part the people are very friendly i.e., The land of Smiles(LOS). Just about everywhere you go someone can speak English. For a third world/developing country there are many many modern up to date resources, banks, hotels, etc. Easy travel to and from Thailand, no doubt the visa on arrival for SOME countries make Thailand a favorite for many westerns to visit, however this has a bad side effect we get visitors like the BAD BOY from Holland and a host of other not so undesirable visitors. :D:o

  2. Chiang Mai is a good choice naughty life or not, enjoy the cool brisk fresh Air, visit a few wineries for a little wine tasting. They Vineyards are beautiful. Great scenery in mountain. By all mean bring a couple of nice warm Jackets(dress warmly) it can be bit cool around the CM area this time of year. A little by trip to Nan a nice little town to the south east of CM could be well worth the time a effort, wonderful local some great shopping. :o

  3. Once upon a time a dear friend(RIP) got his at Villa Market in Bangkok. I have not a clue if you can get them there these days. Do recall seen some in a Tesco Lotus shopping center Khon Kane late 2006. My friend was the only one I knew that like the smelly old Cigars. Good Luck "HAPPY PUFFING"

  4. Nice little city on the Mekong River("MOON River") be nice if you could open a McDonald or Burger King(Hmmmmm) anyway nice laid back town from what saw during my stay there for my many visit across the River to Laos for the old visa run. Tesco Lotus/KFC/Blue Moutain Coffee shop and many other little shops within the same complex just on the outskirt of town as you enter from the south(Udon). Udon which is about 50km south, also have many great places to shop and eat. Please checkout web: www.udonmap.com Have no doubt from my many visits there you and the wife will love living there. Best Wishes!!

  5. So I'm coming home to Roi-Et this month and decided to treat myself to an end of boom gift (seeing as the last decade has been a crazy nightmare in the west). Anyway, I was going to buy a big bike, an XJR1300, CB1300 or GSX1400.

Found quite a few on mocyc.com, between 100,000 and 200,000 Baht, which isn't too bad. But the 'green book', 'import duty stamp', old book, new book, recycled book, police raid, fines chaos I've read here has completely put me off to the point of just buying a push bike and getting fit instead.

Question: Is it worth pursuing this past-time, or am I better off peddling?

Yes it's worth pursuing and buy a big bike just to see the little guys on their Honda Wave125 eat some DUST. Go for it Dude. :o:D

    Thanks in advance,

    (Oh and hi!)

  6. Hey HoJo, Beach or Lake may I suggest neither find the near River(my case we will visit a little Resort near the Mekong(UBON)) so those bad deeds can float far far away hopefully somewhere in the middle of the South China Sea. :D:(:o Anyway whatever/whereever do hope you and your Lady have a WONDERFUL Loy Kratong. :D:D:D

  7. The purpose is not to report your address. It is to report staying in the counry for over 90 days.

I agree it does not make a lot of sense but its in the immigration act so all we can do is follow the rules.

I hear you Ubonjoe, however you have a one stay approve, if you leave and wish to return within that year you must have a reenrty visa right. I am missing :o:D something here, OH well just grin and love it. :D:D

  8. You, yes you Farang is the winner of 10 Rai of land, free of all taxes in Thailand, no need for visa this automatic make you a citizen, please report to your local Tambom office for your Thai ID, card, then call your local Thai Immigration Office, give your ID card number and you will receive your Life time Thai Passport within 7 days all this free of any charge or Taxes(VATs) :D:D:D:o WOW!! dude WHAT A DREAM.

  9. Maybe a question that has been discuss here before, anyway you have your one year visa(marriage/retirement, etc) no address change, no phone number change, no changes at all, WHY the 90 days thing?? Seem like it would be a lot less work for the folks at the Thais Immigration Offices if they didn't have to process the 90 days paper work for the marry folks and the retirees.

  10. Thaimoil sounds to me like you have a pretty good case and about 95 percent chance to WIN it. Maybe I suggest you find a good/low cause Thai lawyer, one that would be willing to work for a small fee. My bet is if you have a good income and a WELL documented case as you have shown here also any court will decide in your favor, in other by you stepping up to take care of your child that is one more hungry mouth the government will not have to feed. Best of Luck go for it. :D:o

  11. WHY, because the cheap booze(rice wine, etc) is all they can afford so they get drunk :o:D buy the firework a raise H#L#. Sad to say so are seriously injure in their merry making, with little or no assess to aquate medical care. :D

  12. I wonder how bad things will get in the LOS, before everybody CHILLOUT and cool heads prevail. My guess is the TPBS director was RIGHT ON TARGET, I have seen many cases up close and personal(wife's brother/step son, daughter, grandma Pia, young sister) all offer a payment to attend certain rallies. So I for one would take any bet that this is indeed the case. HMMMMMMMM!! Apology for telling the truth.(???)
