  1. She definitely won't be back, but now it seems the RTP are saying they did extort the 27,000 baht. The investigation is still ongoing but if it is proved the RTP are guilty she should sue them for defamation?
  2. She did say that a member of the group started filming but was told to stop by the RTP and delete the footage?
  3. Directly reporting to the police that the police are corrupt, extortionists and liars, might not be such a good idea? Leaving the country then reporting it on social media seems a good idea?????
  4. Just saw that, its beginning to look like the RTP were not telling the truth, I'm shocked!???? Helmet cams were erased? WOW!
  5. Correct, I am pretty sure the Taiwanese police will tell them exactly that, the Thai cops have zero jurisdiction in Taiwan and would need permission to interview the young lady?
  6. Ouch, that gonna hurt the RTP's reputation? It was bad enough before, but......?
  7. Wow, if this is true then, after all the disinformation (lies) by the police, its going to look pretty bad for the RTP, I wonder if TAT will say anything?????
  8. Totally agree, but the fact they won't release it, seems a little odd? If she went to the police station, wouldn't there be camera there? Did the cops have body cams, if not why not? In a related article: "CCTV is being analysed from various sources but the Grab car dash cam video from the night in question had already been deleted as it was more than 20 days old." How convenient?
  9. "RTP spokesman says "trust us" not social media in Taiwanese actress extortion case; cops may fly to Taiwan today" Did he say that with a straight face? History tell us that the RTP are corrupt and liars, look at the amount of investigations going right now?
  10. Got to agree with you. They police have said they have watched the footage, so that proves they have it? Or are they lying about that also? The fact the have not as yet published it, is very very strange, when it would prove their innocence?
  11. Possibly, but the RTP have a track record of not telling the truth, look at all the corruption cases going on. The lady is an unknown, she doesn't really have a track record?
  12. Not apparently, the RTP have said in a statement they have it and it refutes what the girl says? I very much doubt the Thai police will go to Taiwan and interview her, when all they have to do is publish the CCTV footage, then surely all this will be cleared up one way or the other?
  13. You are correct, but the cops have the evidence, the CCTV footage? The girl doesn't have anything.
  14. The cops said they have the CCTV, but haven't as yet published it? The cops said she lied about the vaping. The cops said she lied about paying money. The cops said her taxi driver said she was very loud etc Now I don't know what happened, but the cops do not have a very good track record of telling the absolute truth, do they? When the cops eventually publish the unedited CCTV footage we will know?
  15. Fair enough, no problem with that, but surely if they are staying for months at a time they must have some kind of 'long term' visa? I had heard from another poster that many were on ED visas?
  16. I agree its good, but what will the outcome be I wonder? We see these reports of corrupt cops all the time, but the worst that happens is they get moved to 'inactive' posts?
  17. Interesting, if they are hiding from conscription they must be fairly young, that is under 50, I wonder what visas they are getting to stay for such an extended period?
  18. You are correct, I saw a report that that they tried, it was in the same article that said the RTP had interviewed the taxi driver, also they had seen the CCTV footage. The problem is, its all hearsay? The police are not providing any actual evidence. Surely to put this to bed as it were, they just need to show the CCTV footage and that would be the end of it?
  19. I would agree with your sentiment, but my point is tourists who come to Thailand are not going to be able to speak fluent Thai, some expats maybe? The IO's need to speak with the foreigners, obviously, so it would be in everyone's interest if they could could at least speak the most widely used language? The Aviation industry does it? All international pilots must be able to speak English, so must all Air Traffic Controllers at International Airports?
  20. Now the Police Chief, Pol Gen Damrongsak has got involved, according to the Bangkok Post. He has said if the accused officers are guilty, legal action will be taken against them. The girl in question, has also challenged the police to show the CCTV footage. The story has changed and its difficult to keep up. But now its all very simple isn't it? Show the footage and prove your innocence Mr Policeman?
  21. Quite so, I hope they don't forget to syn up the time stamps, or it will be a complete giveaway?????
  22. Right, its the same in France! ????
  23. Correct, you go anywhere in the world virtually and if you can speak English you can usually find someone who can understand you. If you only speak Mandarin and you go anywhere in Africa say, you are stuck?
  24. I would agree that the most common FIRST language is Chinese, followed distantly by Spanish and then, in third, comes English. That is not what I meant however, more people can speak English, maybe as a second language, that Chinese. I should have said, English is the most widely spoken language in the world!
