  1. I haven't seen the amendment. So will airlines allow non vaccinated passengers to travel?
  2. Quite the actual email takes seconds to inform the check in staff perhaps, then they have to read it and figure out what it means? We all know translating Thai to English doesn't always work? There is always a chance that it gets misinterpreted? To inform passengers may take a little longer, than a few seconds?
  3. Right, it all boils down to giving less than 2 days notice too change requirements to travel to Thailand was a moronic thing to do?Nobody has a chance to communicate the requirements to passengers and or properly explain to the check in staff? You can imagine this message being mis-translated into all the different languages at all the airlines world wide? Tomorrow is not a good day to be a check in person?
  4. Correct, check in staff have a pretty difficult job to do, dealing with all kinds of people, every day. They are at the 'sharp end of the stick' as it were? The instructions they get clearly can be misinterpreted, by some?
  5. Yes and giving the check in staff , worldwide, less than 2 days notice to change requirements for people traveling to Thailand? I bet the check in staff are real happy having to contend with angry passengers who haven't heard about the requirements. They may have been vaxed, but don't have a document proving it?
  6. Could happen knowing the clowns in Thailand? The check in staff at airports will be real happy, they won't know if they are coming or going?
  7. That's what it seems like, and possibly lose your money/ticket? As you say there seems to be no other option. Totally absurd state of affairs, but what do expect from Thailand?
  8. Correct, I suppose it will depend upon how many tourists arrive or cancel because of this absurd rule change? If they think they are losing money they will reverse it very quickly, that's all they care about?
  9. Right! I was kind of half joking, but makes sense since the Chinese love gambling! Which begs the question why do so many go to Thailand, where gambling is 'illegal"
  10. Whilst i agree that people have personal responsibility, there are a number of reasons why some did not get vaccinated, some medical, some personal? But changing the rules, giving 2 days notice, that could potentially affect many potential tourists is dumb. The fact that the vaccination must be be taken 14 days before traveling, but have no expiry date, is also questionable, seeing as the vaccines could only last 6 months and some may have had them 2 years ago? https://www.healthline.com/health/how-long-does-covid-vaccine-protect-you
  11. Point is only giving 2 days notice is ludicrous, if they had given a months notice, fair enough?
  12. So to not discriminate against the Chinese, all foreigners must show proof to the check in staff, wherever they are coming from, that they have at least 2 vaccinations on the approved list? This goes into affect on Jan 9th, this year? So any foreigners, not vaccinated and have already booked a non refundable ticket to Thailand in January, are in trouble apparently? All the other countries have decided only people coming from China need to show proof of vaccination. Now these folks will not have booked yet, as the in country ban has only been lifted very recently, so they can sort their vaccinations out first? Looks like Thailand bowing to their masters again? They don't care about tourists only Chinese tourists? I'm shocked!
  13. The problem is all Immigration Offices are not the same, sound like yours is OK and follow some rules? But we know from countless reports on AN that some IO's seemingly have different ways of doing things and even the actual officers in some of the IO's have there own idea how to do things, so there is no consistency? Now if you live close to the Office its usually no problem if you need to get something that is asked for and you need to go home to get it, but some folks live hours away and then it is a problem? Agents , the good ones, usually know what exactly is required and they check you paperwork etc, then if there is some anomaly they can sort it out? You say its a lot of money, but to some its not, some folks fly business or first class for better service, cos they can afford it? At the end of the day its a personal choice and it takes out the guesswork?
  14. Right, so if you have already made a booking to fly to Thailand,on Jan 10th say have no vaccinations, what do you do? No time to get vaccinated, so do you need a PCR test before traveling?
  15. From the article: "3. Thai Citizens with a Thai passport are exempt from all vaccination and insurance requirements." So Thais do not need to show proof of vaccination? I understand the no insurance requirements! So whats the point, if any?
  16. So good news for the Chinese, they should all go to Cambodia?????
  17. "WHO estimates that excessive alcohol consumption kills 3million each year" Most people know this? But eating or drinking anything in excess is bad for you? Even water?
  18. Top Gun Maverick was a superb movie, as a sequel it surpassed the original I think. Amazing cinematography and all the scenes were 'real' no green scene stuff whatsoever! Surprised that Avatar 2 passed Top Gun 2?
  19. Apparently its the airline that's asking for it? I was on Singapore airlines. In Thailand nobody checked nothing
  20. Indeed, its quite clever, it sounds like they are answering the question, without answering the 'actual' question?
  21. Exactly same in my case! It must be just an airline policy, I flew Singapore Airlines too! Got to Thailand no checks whatsoever!
  22. In the last 6 months i have traveled out of Thailand 2 times, once to Jakarta, Indonesia and once to Singapore. On check in to go back to Thailand I was asked, both times, to show proof of vaccination? Has something changed?
  23. In Thailand, i don't believe there is any such limit? ????
  24. You said it right there: " In civilized countries the height and also the max spacing between the vertical stiles is controlled."
