  1. Its definitely picking up in Jomtien, getting back to how it was pre covid? Rompoh market is busy almost every night?
  2. How can you see into the future, they might change it again? Without knowing any details its difficult to figure out, but changing the rules retrospectively doesn't seem fair or legal?
  3. You mean the all Chinese will not have insurance, to at least cover Covid ? ????
  4. Quite so. The Captain should have been arrested immediately and interrogated? Lets them try and blame a couple of Burmese on this tragedy?
  5. So were the 'gangsters' Thai or foreigners? I read the article and it just mentions "Chatchai or “Ah <deleted>”
  6. Sadly to the Thai government and TAT, that's all that matters?????
  7. All bad zoos should be banned, but there are some exceptional ones that do a lot of good work in conservation and education, like the San Diego Zoo, USA
  8. "international flight searches among people in North America have jumped from 19% to 27%, with Bangkok ranking as the third most searched destination in Asia, only after Tokyo of Japan and Ho Chi Minh City of Vietnam." Headline should read: Bangkok remains as one of top 'searched' destinations in Asia
  9. This is one trend I like!???? I hope it goes 'viral'
  10. "Thai Police Plan to Change Traffic Police Vest to Appear More Friendly" Appearances can be deceptive. In this case they probably will be?????
  11. https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2022/12/29/countries-imposing-covid-rules-for-travellers-from-china The list is growing longer, with Australia joining and possible the Philippines, Malaysia is already on the list? Will Thailand take any action, or just collect the money?????
  12. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-china-64127917 France and Spain have also now said they will require Covid tests from incoming Chinese? The list is getting longer! UK looks like it will also require testing? https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/dec/30/china-bridles-as-eu-states-prepare-to-scale-up-covid-monitoring What is Thailand gonna do?........Nothing?
  13. Its all a misunderstanding obviously? This time it really could be, but an unprovoked attack is assault?
  14. There is no change of procedures at the IO's. Its true that some offices have been taking longer to issue 'visas' or length of stay, because there has been an influx of folks, like the Russions and others, that has backed up the system. The offices are in some cases, like Jomtien soi 5 are being overwhelmed and are taking a longer time to get thru the paperwork?
  15. Whilst it is a good decision, it didn't come from Biden, but the CDC? Lets hope Thailand takes the same precautions!
  16. There is nothing 'sinophobic' about it at all? There is a real threat that allowing millions of Chinese into Thailand is going to spread Covid, very rapidly, have you been watching the news? Whilst many people have been vaccinated the old especially are at great risk and the hospitals could be overwhelmed?
  17. So Region 1 immigration are still naming nationalities? The word , it seems, has not gotten around yet?????
  18. So if they do not name the nationality, we can assume they would be Chinese?
  19. You said it? Absolutely nothing makes sense in Thailand?????
  20. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-china-64111492 USA has now implemented Covid tests from anyone going in to the USA from mainland China!
  21. https://aseannow.com/topic/1281804-crisis-unfolding-in-the-wards-of-beijing-many-line-the-hospital-floor/#comment-17810938 https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/dec/28/china-hospitals-extremely-busy-amid-surging-wave-of-covid-infections
  22. Yes, but it would mean all the resources would be tied up, plus infections will spread to the Thais, especially the old people and would make it even worse? The hospitals might make money, but at what cost?
  23. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-china-64102176 Looks like they have started to prepare already? "Macau, Hong Kong, Japan, Thailand and South Korea were the most popular destinations" Well at least TAT will be happy?????
  24. You make some very valid points. The problem is Thailand and TAT may not see it as everyone else does? They seem to want the money first and worry about potential risks later? In this case if the floodgates are opened and 5million Chinese come to Thailand, will it overwhelm the hospitals in Thailand, will the authorities be taking any responsibility for checking incoming passengers from China, PCR tests etc? Who knows?
  25. Agreed, but unless he has a criminal record in his own country, I'm guessing it would be pretty difficult to deny him a passport?
