The "law" in Thailand says anything you want it to say, depending upon who you are, who you know and how much money you have?
So you cannot defend your position, that's fine!
"The victim in the case had rejected an offer of 380,000 baht for the bag and hired lawyers instead"
So does anyone know how much the bag is really worth?
Yes, but everyone is anonymous, nobody knows who you are or where you are, assuming when you registered you didn't put your real name?????
But it does say something, in that the police just dont seem to care if they get found out?
A fair question and it remains to be seen what happens to the ones that are fighting the charges, but I have a hunch that none of the Chinese tourists will be blacklisted. It would look really bad?
"Phones and jewelry were also missing from the victims. There has been no mention of a police report."
Why would there be a police report, they are the ones that took them?????
You are correct.
The very big problem is the corruption is endemic in Thailand, non more so that the RTP.
Even if you could replace all the police, the newcomers would soon succumb.
Its an impossible task?
