  1. Actually its a 1970 movie. Based on Arthur Hailey's 1968 novel of the same name, Its the first of 4 Airport movies. Yes i remember the characters, its not difficult! You must too?
  2. Where is the RED notice? If you search Interpol its not there, you have evidence to the contrary? Regarding the passport you are correct, but you didn't show my full post. "However in a 'real' country he would have been arrested and passport taken. Then when he obtained a false passport and left, a real country would have Interpol issue a Red notice. But look what happened!" My point being he wasn't processed by the RTP correctly, if he had maybe all this may not happened? Big IF?
  3. Although good lawyers can help, they dont always win. However in a 'real' country he would have been arrested and passport taken. Then when he obtained a false passport and left, a real country would have Interpol issue a Red notice. But look what happened!
  4. Well isn't it normal to wait until the police arrive and then they take pics, measure skid marks, whatever they do. They would probably take statement etc.? Certainly he called the emergency services and they came, but according to the story, unless I have missed something, he then left for the airport. Did he go in the same car? Now he wasn't at the wheel, but was obviously a witness to the accident.? I was asking a question, not making a statement.
  5. "Why isn't every male in the UK living in Thailand?" I'm going out on a limb here, but it could be their wives wont let them? ????
  6. "He said that he did not flee the scene and would pay full compensation to the victim's family. He continued to the airport." So he did flee the scene?
  7. I have been getting a few scam calls recently. If my girlfriend answers they start asking for information, like name, where are you etc, she hangs up. When I answer the phone in English, they hang up. I block the number and report it, but still get the occasional one.
  8. Totally agree. I am not sure if you are familiar with the tabloid/rag called the "Daily Star", but calling it a Newspaper is an insult to Newspapers?
  9. The price of 209 baht is good. But what does it taste like? I used to drink Guinness in the UK, many years ago, and thought it was a good drink, until I went to Dublin and tried it. It tasted so much better, more flavor, more creamy......just better!
  10. I'm sure I have seen this discussion before somewhere?
  11. July 23 (Reuters) -" The rapidly spreading monkeypox outbreak represents a global health emergency, the World Health Organization's highest level of alert, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said on Saturday." https://www.reuters.com/business/healthcare-pharmaceuticals/monkeypox-outbreak-constitutes-global-health-emergency-who-2022-07-23/ Just when things seemed to improving?
  12. UN health agency chief declares monkeypox a global emergency MARIA CHENG Sat, July 23, 2022, 9:13 PM LONDON (AP) — "The expanding monkeypox outbreak in more than 70 countries is an “extraordinary” situation that qualifies as a global emergency, the World Health Organization chief said Saturday, a declaration that could spur further investment in treating the once-rare disease and worsen the scramble for scarce vaccines. A global emergency is WHO’s highest level of alert but the designation does not necessarily mean a disease is particularly transmissible or lethal. Similar declarations were made for the Zika virus in 2016 in Latin America and the ongoing effort to eradicate polio, in addition to the COVID-19 pandemic and the 2014 Ebola outbreak in West Africa." Just as things seemed to be getting better?
  13. Well when there are seemingly fewer "westerners" and a lot more Indians I suppose the girls have little choice.
  14. I would agree India is a very diverse country, as you mention. However members on this forum can comment on what they think, just because you don't like it, doesn't make any difference. as long as they do not break the rules. Rants included. In general the moderators do a very good job of removing comments that do break the rules. As I have mentioned in my earlier comment there are many comments/posts berating "white" people. In general the "white" folks take it with a grain of salt and do not get too offended.
  15. I agree with your sentiment, in that everyone has the same right right to visit Thailand, no matter where they come from, East or West, North or South, what color, or religion etc., they all have equal rights etc. However surely everyone also has the same right to post on this forum as long as they do not break the Forum Rules? You are not the gatekeeper of what is posted. Many posts I have seen have been sarcastic and humorous, some do take it too far. Over the years, I have seen sarcastic and humorous posts about Drunk Brits, loudmouthed Americans, Germans and sausages etc , no one takes it too seriously! I don't think we need the history lesson?
  16. Whilst I agree with OP that Bolt Taxis are very good and cheap, the service for the vaccinations are efficient, well organized and free. Certainly cheaper than the UK or US If I were in the UK I would not be doing a 90 day report, I hope??
  17. I do realize the humidity plays a major factor in this. In Las Vegas and KSA, in the Summer, my 2 examples, the humidity is low in the mid teens, so it doesn't "feel" as hot. My point was in "hot climates" they are usually equipped to deal with the high temperatures, most places are air conditioned, houses, apartments, shopping malls etc. In the UK most places are not and the humidity can be considerably higher as hot air can support more moisture. So 40 C at 75%- 85% humidity can be a "killer" So in the UK its difficult to cool off as it were. Probably why in Thailand when its very hot the shopping malls are full?
  18. You obviously do not understand ATC. When the pilot enter the active runway, it is quite possible that a plane will be landing on the same runway after he/she has taken off, as many airports do not have different runways for take offs and landings. If the pilot takes too long to take off the aircraft on final behind him will have to 'go around', causing further delay! At very busy airports aircraft can take off and land every 30 seconds.
  19. Quite so, in Las Vegas it gets up to 50 C in the Summer and in KSA even higher, but they are equipped to handle the heat. Its only gonna be for few days anyway, then it will return to normal, cold an wet and miserable.
  20. "Mongkon Wimonrat, assistant permanent secretary at the Tourism and Sports Ministry, said the collection method and system for those arriving by air is now ready to launch. However, he said the ministry needs to conduct further studies on land and sea entry, meaning the program will start when all ports of entry are equipped with feasible collection methods." From the above statement which was shown on July 15, with the headline, ‘Tourism fee’, now for all travellers to Thailand, ready to launch. It seemed the only land and sea entry was a potential problem, BUT, now they are saying the Airlines too are a potential problem. They didn't ask the Airlines first before announcing this? Amazing Thailand at it again! ????
  21. Right, on all the flights I have booked, the airline asks for Name on the passport and Nationality. They need nationally to check if you need a visa or other requirement for the country you are going to. So cannot just put Thai, because if you did at check-in they would see the anomaly.
  22. Quite so, its like they really don't want foreigners in Thailand.?
