Overstaying American Arrested at Phuket Airport
mikeymike100 replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
I believe you are correct, the maximum an over stayer will get charged is 20,000 Baht, at the airport, for up to 89 days, if you overstay 90 days you will be deported and banned for a year! If you get caught by the cops or go to immigration and you are on overstay you will be arrested, it is much more serious! -
"UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has come under fire after declining to dismiss outright the possibility of introducing new "blasphemy laws" in response to demands for stronger protections for the Quran" Why should the Quran need stronger protections, surely it should be able to defend itself? Surely picking out one Holy Book is discrimination?

Thai AirAsia Flight Disrupted by Technical Fault
mikeymike100 replied to webfact's topic in Southern Thailand News
Completely missed the point!!! I realize the engine did NOT start, however this shows that there is a problem with the 'engine', or associated startup sequence. These engines need correct maintenance, as they are complex, and if they have it there should be no problems, starting them or running them! In this case it would not start, could be many things that would cause that. From a switch, to the APU, to the igniter??? We don't know. However it did start at some point, because the article states........ "The faulty plane returned empty to Bangkok for repairs once initial checks were complete. " So repairs were needed to the engine, now that would mean something needed changing, replacing or fixing. This happened before the aircraft was carrying passengers, so as I said in my original comment. "These kinds of things happen all the time, good job any problem with the engine was found out on the ground, BEFORE it took off! " -
I knew somebody would pick up on that. Its just BaNANA, mobile phone shop!...😂 Banana

I had a similar experience when buying my Samsung A54 from Banana republic in Tesco Lotus. I paid for the product and he asked if he could open it to check, I agreed and then said could he set it up etc, I had no problem with that, I could do it myself, but I thought if there was a problem, it would his not mine! Everything went fine and about half an hour later I left with my fully working purchase!

Consumer injured by glass in spaghetti at Thai pizza chain
mikeymike100 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Not at all. Surely the safety of consumers/customers eating someone else's food must be paramount and come first? -

You don't know that! Irrespective of your rant, the safety of customers, must always override upsetting food companies or restaurants, in this case it appears no damage was done, but if a small child had eaten it, it could have been a lot worse! -
"This comprehensive investigation reflects Scotland Yard’s commitment to addressing past failures and seeking justice for victims. The inquiry underscores the importance of accountability, not just for the accused but also for any individuals who may have played a part in perpetuating the abuse. " But once again, just like Jimmy Saville it's too late, Al Fayed is dead. "The investigation marks a significant escalation following the emergence of allegations from a total of 111 victims, the youngest reportedly just 13 years old. Before Al Fayed’s death in 2023 at the age of 94, police had been aware of 21 allegations against him between 2005 and 2023, including four accusations of rape, 16 of sexual assault, and one related to trafficking. Despite being arrested in 2013 over a rape claim, Al Fayed was never charged. " So the police once again the police failed miserably! With all the evidence they had, they couldn't or wouldn't charge him, I wonder why??

Here is another story of the UK being 'Tyrannical' "Man held after secret filming shared on Tik Tok" According to the article the police have arrested a man who was filming women, in a public place, and posting them on TIK TOK, I thought there was no expectation pf privacy whilst in a public place? Guess the the UK is worse than I thought?? https://www.yahoo.com/news/man-held-secret-filming-shared-124155451.html

I went thru the fastrack 2 weeks ago and there appeared to only electronic gates, so I asked a IO who was there observing, as I have a one year 'retirement' extension and a re entry permit, and was told to use the the gates and it worked fine, took less than a minute. Surely the system is 'intelligent' enough to figure out if you can exit using the gates or not, ie if you cannot use them for whatever reason, it would flag you?

Trump's Legal Battles and Their Unintended Legacy of Backfiring
mikeymike100 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Dream on........ I see you like euphemisms, which I do too when appropriate but in this case the DOJ weaponized the law against Trump, purely for political reason to try and stop him running again.........It didn't work, obviously I you look at the bigger picture the Dems have been after Trump for over 10 years, with investigations, inquiries (mueller), Impeachments, court cases, and finally assassination attempts, one of which was deadly. But he still came back and won! -
