In the past TAT welcomed this to boost numbers, border runs were a norm, IO officers were known to take a tip at the border crossings to enhance income Aranyaprathet used to have 200 baht inside the passport as you exited Thailand before turning around to re-enter to get your next 90 days. My first year this was done on a multi-entry visa.

If immigration insist on seeing a full itinerary, hotel bookings, travel plans then yes it will have an impact on those wishing to come here and move around without firm plans on how long to stay where. Not everyone comes here, stays in one location, one hotel for the full duration of their stay.

And over-stay... what Immigration need is software on their system to red-flag tourists who over-stay their departure date and chase them down. Not asking dumb itinerary plans on arrival.

So do the over-stayers and scammers.... they just don't use it.

She had previously pledged to donate her body, but the receiving hospital had not collected it". Seems a bit weird... did the family skip the hospital visit/ doctor verification of death and sent her straight to the temple?

Imagine working all year, saving funds, booking a trip to Thailand for what might be the most of your holiday allocation. Arriving in Thailand and being denied entry because your itinerary is less than perfect and an officer is having a bad day?
