  1. Agree and very odd being in Ubon, were they nabbed at the Laos border nearby and shaken down ? Bit to this likely but we'll never know...
  2. With that huge arse surely she's not on the game ,😳
  3. Criminal scum little doubt, deport the lot of them back for the wonderful CCP to deal with
  4. Tony no doubt paid a number of very powerful people including the watchman a lot of money to execute the plan, no amount of squeaking from this lot is going to change a thing...
  5. Thai also fly PTH BKK direct, admittedly a bit more expensive but a far more pleasant experience . Guy is clearly in the wrong, but if all started over a torn page in passport it highlights some of the stupid pedantic traditions the aviation/immigration industry cling onto. Surely they could have allowed entry and imposed conditions to ensure the issue was rectified
  6. God bless it and long may it last
  7. Chinese scamming Chinese 😅 it's just a pity the CCP make sure that news isn't common knowledge at home...
  8. I do recall the Mrs selling a house in regional City and she was very particular about the original land title deed (or whatever it's called here) - I thought she was being a bit paranoid but she would not hand it over until she had full confirmation the money was in her bank account - in fact I think they all went to the bank together...
  9. In my experience teen girls would be one of the safer riding cohorts... But clip another bike even at 60km.hr with no helmet you could hobble away with a few scratches... Or be driven off to the morgue... whole life in front of em. Sad
  10. So why would the Chinese mother have mentioned telling her daughter not to go to Myanmar ??? Anyway it's just more Chinese scamming each other, unfortunately back in China the CCP will make sure that truth isn't told 🤬
  11. ISOC = the corrupt generals who are indirectly getting the brown paper bags from the illegal business's
  12. Just weird 😊 Normally the Thai husband would have turned up, beaten the ###/stabbed/shot the mad slut and poor old falang
  13. As the map suggests, the far eastern section of the country this time of year has what I consider pretty good AQ. We are on the outskirts of muang Ubon and even with localised lighting the sky view at night is very very clear. Not always like this of course but we don't have some of the ingredients of the far north that contribute to poor AQ - mountainous areas with hard to contain wildfire often triggered by reckless illegal burning, sugar cane, heavy industries
  14. Probably one of the major factors may be lack of bike skills/experience. Not proud of it, but can say I rode bikes in Indonesia and Thailand while off chops many times in my 20/30s and never had a serious accident….grew up riding bikes (dirt and later road) from age 10 or even younger
  15. Hardly a major threat…meanwhile bikies, drug lords and Asian triads come and go from Thailand seemingly invisible 🤔
  16. These cronies will have their day when a rebranded MF hold power after the next election 😊
  17. Call me an optimist but I can’t see how a rebranded FF party won’t win an even bigger % of votes next election, and with a senate that now must be at least 20% ? aligned with them it will be impossible to stop them from holding power…except the C word…
  18. Comments about fines sending CP broke…😅 you’re kidding aren’t ya. But I must say is be surprised the species can get too prolific if they’re half decent eating, given the pressure most wild fish stocks are under here
  19. The wife participated her restaurant in the last handout scheme, I’m not full bottle on it but she claimed that later on she was required to pay a large chunk of the revenue back in tax/fee, which was not communicated prior. Believe many will be sceptical about this one. As for the economic benefits I’d say very little, money better spent on improving infrastructure, it all ends up back in the economy
  20. That’s why I’d never sell my place back in Australia, even in retirement I clearly never plan to be here March-May due to the heat/haze. fortunately here in Ubon we don’t suffer too much from the early season haze in Jan-Feb, in fact that is possibly the best months of the year here for cool clear weather. but come March 1…get the hell out 😊
  21. Couldn’t comment on touristy spots but the Mrs says this is the lowest point in 12yrs of operating a restaurant in large northern regional city which has next to nil tourism related trade. And daily trip to market confirms this, absolutely dire. of course it is wet season which always slows down trade, but people with money are just very reluctant to spend atm…a reflection of the shambolic political situation I’m sure. as I board a near empty flight from Perth to bkk I can’t think the tourist areas are much better 💩
  22. I have no idea of price of planes but 60 mill AUD seems like a crazy number for 3 items…maybe it’s the old prices up supply chain / COVID scam excuse

  24. Seriously would they stop pedalling this bull…. , it’s embarrassing 🤔
  25. The country really is a mess. The wife has owned & managed a successful medium size restaurant in a regional (non mainstream tourist) city for the last 10yrs and says currently this is easily the worst the economy has been in that period. Prey for a massive change up at next election, I actually think it’s inevitable
