  1. Interestingly there is a cluster of high readings in the north CM area now but nothing across border in Laos or Myanmar not being in area myself what do you locals think is current source - forest fires, cane burning ? Of course it coincides with the rapid drying up period end of wet season One of the advantages of being in what I call the Far East (Ubon Ratchathani) is the generally good AQ until it gets really dry hot into March April
  2. With rising inflation and cost of living, I doubt Thailand is alone in seeing a drop in tourism people are finally waking up tightening their belt and living within their means, I think Covid was bit of catalyst for that with it being first real crisis a lot of younger people had experienced saying that a lot of the systematic things like visas etc in Thailand don’t help but it is doubtless still a very popular holiday option for many people
  3. 20m baht at home 🤔 If actually true who knows maybe daughter of Burmese military junta heavyweight
  4. 39 innocent thais murdered by these sick fundamentalist dogs and these Thai diplomats have the hide to praise them…sickening 🤢
  5. What a joke the Chinese are likely one of the most involved groups in all the illegal activities mentioned, esp call centre scams
  6. Every one of these long range forecasts seem to be more ridiculous than the last 🤔
  7. Pandemic…you idiots 😄 it’s over let it go. Noticeable drop in mask wearing here in Ubon, even earlier this year was still pretty common
  8. Pathetic but maybe makes some business sense. in free market manufacturing competition etc Thailand are being unsurprisingly spanked by likes of Vietnam and Malaysia so maybe trying to corner the china and Russian markets might pay some dividends…time will tell
  9. Miss reckons it’d been hammering down here in Ubon for weeks until I arrived 10 days ago, barely a drop since, winds have turned constant Easterly…dry seasons here ????
  10. Have no problem with it indonesia for example $50usd visa fee on arrival at least it might reduce the endless flow of the gofundme brigade
  11. Not related to this case, but I wonder how many of the firearms out there are related to the obviously poor security systems the police and military have in place for weapons security ? have read of countless cases here over the years where 1 kid has shot another playing with dads unsecured gun at home …
  12. Can’t believe lots of comments laughing this off imo only a few rungs below a child molester / murderer pity Australia doesn’t still apply the ultimate penalty
  13. Great post i have constant thoracic pain from C5-7 bulging disc, not debilitating but requires work to maintain for 10yrs+. Have long considered ESI, at age 53 and still very sportingly active it might help, but I imagine having soon after injury would have provided more benefits. I think healthy lifestyle, stretching and quality massage are key for me, something that will be a lot easier once retired and not travelling for work in few yrs time
  14. Not quite retired yet, but when I do have no intention to sell my house on the coast in Australia Already have nice place in TH so no financial reason to, but primarily because I don’t fancy being in TH 12mth/yr particularly march-june have spent a lot of time in TH over the years to form that opinion, I get the impression a lot go all in when retired and move here having not spent enough time here prior to see if that’s really the best option for them
  15. Good on him ???? let’s all chip in and buy him the right tools so he can finish the job when he gets out
  16. As always, it’s hit and miss recent experiences daytime arrivals thru very quick <10mins mid morning departures lot slower more like 20-30mins, just give yourself plenty of time to spare and noise cancelling headphones on ????
  17. Like all things tho the evolution of modern systems will make it harder and harder to commit and then keep covered up these sorts of scams Thai beaurocrats should be very very scared of AI and it’s ability to pick these scams up through accounting anomalies etc
  18. Nutter ???? ship him off bye bye
  19. In many cases like this mum would still be subsidizing the drinking…it’s often the Thai way I’m afraid to avoid family conflict…poor old girl to end up like this
  20. Darwin’s natural selection I’m afraid low flying at 3am what could possibly go wrong
  21. If obvious evidence and confession….execute…doesn’t deserve oxygen
  22. Having been to HCM just before Covid and having a mate in Aust married to a viet lady, I think the scoreboard in Thai v Viet start ups and entrepreneurs will be considerably in their favour ???? just thankful I picked up a viet ETF in April, has been tracking very nicely ????
  23. God sakes some sort of mangy poodles do them a favour and euthanase
  24. If the toad gets in he’s going to be in for a very bumpy ride, pm in a minority govt, hated by the public I think MF will run a very modern spoiling tactics campaign, using social media to organise mass walkouts etc and put in all over the international media.
  25. Wait it out to get rid of the crooks…win win…I have no doubt short term the market would not suffer adversely with the prospect of a democratic and accountable government a year away ????????????
