Education experts fear quality will drop as teacher exams made easier
dinsdale replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
What nobody in the previous comments seems to be aware of is that the exams have been made easier because previously they were that incredibally difficult virtually no one could pass them. -
Ok then. Definite heavy rains and floods coming in July.

‘Election Commissioners Must Go To Jail’ Hashtag Tops Twitter Trend

Pure insanity to push this. The only possible reason is to spark street demonstration to give cause for yet another coup. -
Prospective PM Pita clears a hurdle… next the parliamentary vote
dinsdale replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Yes. But did he own them? Were they his shares or his father's held in trust? It's just nit picking now. Mongrel losing, power hungry, filthy rich, absolute AH, minority once again. It worked last time but it will not work this time. If it does, however, as I have been saying for a long time this country will explode. -
Well maybe he did. Maybe the conservative minority are searching and trying to prosecute any means possible to maintain their wealth and power. The people want change. These fkrs should accept it. It willl either happen or Thailand will remain a country run by the military via coups. The elite will then maintain their their wealth from where? China alone will not do this. As for he should know better it would seem you know the Thai political and legal system. Maybe you could enlighten us. The law applies to everyone has to be one of the most "green behind the ears' comments sometimes posted here. TIT. The law is not equal.

How do you prove awareness? "No I wasn't aware." "Ok then. Off you go." -
Worrisome “media shares” rulings in recent past
dinsdale replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
It is sad. It seems that every interest except the people's is what politics is about. It should be the opposite. Politicians are meant to be the representitives of the people. -

That in itself is interesting. Why does this happen? Will it continue to happen? Will the people rise up? Will things change? etc., etc. These are all questions based in, among other things, politics. It cannot be avoided like it or not. It is part of the global system we live in. -
Ailing elephant in Sri Lanka fit for flight back to Thailand
dinsdale replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I must say the above comments show certain mentalities on this forum. This is an old elephant that's been abused for most of it's life and is being repatriated at great expense and logistical difficulty (and a good look for Thailand) and will probably not last long. Elephants are magnificiant, intelligent mammals. Asians can be absolutely horrible when it comes to animals. -
Not sure who gave the laughing emoji to my post I've reposted but if you get bitten by a stray dog or monkey or any other rabbies carrying animal then you are welcome to wait the 10 days. Good luck with that. Once rabbies becomes active in your system it's pretty much game over. This can happen around the 10 day mark at the earliest..

Worrisome “media shares” rulings in recent past
dinsdale replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Politics is very interesting. We are seeing it in action right now. Other factors are involved which makes Thai politics very interesting indeed. The defence of the Three Pillars is now front and centre and is being defended by a very powerful minority against a majority of the population who voted for change. "Most people hate politics" because they don't care and/or don't understand. A country's future hangs in the balance and it's politics which will direct which way it goes. Love it or hate it politics is and has always been part of our lives. -

No to the 1st so the 2nd is moot. The nit picking will come with the 1st. Was ITV actice? From what I gather they were active in only hiring out equipment. -
Thailand boosts tourism budget to 5bn baht, targets off-peak travellers

Make hay whilst the sun shines. Those at the top will soon be out of a job so fill them pockets now. -
Rabies outbreak claims 3 lives across 3 provinces; urgent vaccination urged Well. What to say to this headline apart from it's clear as mud. Rabbies vaccines are post infection or possible infection they are not given otherwise as far as I know. "They should then apply an antiseptic and confine the animal for close observation for up to 10 days. If the animal dies, notify local authorities immediately for testing and seek medical attention for a rabies vaccination." I'm not sure 10 days would be advisable. Might be a bit late by then. Possible side effect of waiting 10 days could be death. Within 48 hrs is the time frame.

Dengue fever on the rise, more elderly people being infected
dinsdale replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Old tyres with water in them etc, etc all over the place. You would think in a tropical country people would clean up these breading grounds but it just doesn't happen. Problem is people just don't clean up anything. Very dirty country when it come to rubbish/garbage. -
Both coup entities. As I've said before how to win when you lose. They must know what the consequences will be. The hatred for this mob of military elites was written on the ballet papers and be in no doubt that this hatred will be reflected on the streets. Problem is these buffoons have absolutely no consideration for the people only their own power and wealth. I have stated many times now and I will state once again. Revolution is on the doorstep of this country.

They are jumping ship because they know the coup history of Thailand and realize if it happens again it will be a lot worse this time round.. I hope common sense prevails but TIT. It's future is in the balance. Coup and the upholding of the three pillars by the military and the end of tourism and foreign investment or accepting the will of the overwhelming majority of Thai voters and progress.

Thailand and SE Asia ‘caught off guard’ by record heatwave
dinsdale replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I also remember reading it wasn't a heat wave. One thing I do know it's been hot, hot and hot for a long time. Sorry add humid to that. So heat wave or not? This discussion has been had previously. April 21. Weatherman says current hot weather in Thailand does not qualify as a heat wave https://aseannow.com/topic/1292739-weatherman-says-current-hot-weather-in-thailand-does-not-qualify-as-a-heat-wave/#comment-18033060 -

Children under 12 months old should be vaccinated against COVID-19

I'm a parent and I decide not to follow the Thai MoPH's advice. This is my right and I find it very disrespectful that you imply I'm playing Russian Roulette with my kids life. Some would argue that getting the jab is in and of itself playing Russian Roulette with my kid's health.
