  1. This type of amnesty was successful in Australia. It won't be here.
  2. ????? Do you mean more expensive in Australia?
  3. Thai coffee liqueurs. Name? Picture? I would be very interested to give it a go.
  4. Agree. Save Bt75 a bottle in tax, bring down the price Bt5, hey presto extra Bt70 profit per bottle minus the kickback.
  5. Alas not. Children have yet to learn corruption. They are the product of the privileged. Empty headed fools who are very good at filling their own pockets.
  6. Yadong is lao khao infused with some sort of herbs and stuff. I got drunk on that once and had a hangover for 3 days.
  7. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh😔 So it's only for the rot gut. Very, very disappointing.
  8. Alas beggars can't be choosers. I'm not paying the money they want for anything decent. Also you can see I said Blend 285 Signature. Definitely better than the 285. I don't drink that.
  9. Regency sends me crazy. Brandy always has bad brandy more so. I stay well away from that stuff. The vodka is hangover city so that was taken off the shopping list. Hong Thong and Blend 285 signature are ok for me though.
  10. Yes it is only the local stuff but they did say also imports previously (see above post of the article from Jan 8). Seems they've backtracked on the most important part. As for the local stuff well lets wait and see what happens and as for the local wine IMO to call it wine is a very, very big stretch.
  11. I posted that article. Is was from Jan 8. See pg 2 of this thread for my post.
  12. "now" is an interesting word in your sentence. I wonder when exactly now will be. How much reduction in price? Well TIT so probably go up.
  13. Bt500ish can get you a very nice bottle of red in Ausralia.
  14. I was responding to other posters. Anything wrong with that?
  15. January 8. Buying wines in Thailand is going to get much cheaper, as the country is set to introudce a sweeping tax reform including completely removing import tariffs in an effort to boost the country’s tourism. The country’s cabinent has passed a landmark decision to reduce taxes for alcoholic beverages including wine, local liquor and spirits to promote tourism, a significant contributor to the Thai economy, the government has announced earlier this month. According to the government spokesperson, import tariffs on wines, which currently stands at 54% and 60% of declared value, will be abolished indefinitely. Additionally, the excise tax on wine will also be lowered from 10% to 5% of its price. These tax cuts are expected to significantly reduce the cost of imported wines in Thailand, a country that has traditionally imposed an average tax of about 250% on wine, including import tariffs, excise tax, municipal tax, and a 7% VAT. Not going to happen as many on here predicted. ozz1 Advanced Member 628 Gender:Male Popular Post Posted January 8 I'll believe it when i see it Very true my friend. very true indeed.
  16. That's when they said they were going to do it.
  17. I'm not sure about this. I seem to remember import duties and excise were involved. Stand to be corrected though.
  18. Chilean reds are drinkable. More a quaffing wine than anything decent but it's cheap and it's somewhat drinkable. If I have a bottle I'll put it in the fridge. Chilled and even on ice it's ok. I say this as a South Australian home of some of the best wine in the world.
  19. Let's see what happens at the till. For some reason it just goes againt my sensibilties that prices will actually be reduced. Can't really think of any examples where this has happened to any great extent. Airfares maybe but they jump up and down so not a good example.
  20. Yep. Just like the vaccine injury conspiracy. Oh! Wait! It's not a conspiracy after all.
  21. Big pharma and CDC. Big pharma and govenments. Fauci/Wuhan Institute of Virology/gain of function. No conflict of interest to be seen here folks.
  22. Not heartless. Just reality. 61 million people died last year https://ourworldindata.org/births-and-deaths#:~:text=There were 61 million people, net increase of 0.91%). from all sorts of things. 5 million a month.
  23. Well do you know about the comorbities of these people? Age groups? Even if died from or with Covid? 11,000 deaths globally is still bad news for those who died and there families but it is still only 11,000 in a month or around 354 per day in a global population of 8,019,876,189. In anyones books this is a very small number. Apart from that it seems to have become seasonal so there will be peaks and troughs.
  24. We have been in a different phase for around two years. It's called Omicron which is a non-severe viral infection for the vast majority.
