  1. You need to go to the thai consulate website where you're applying and see what their posted holiday schedule is As Upnotover correctly stated 👍 eVisas are processed thru the embassy you apply for them thru For instance this is the embassies in the US posted holiday closure for Songkran
  2. ATTENTION ALL MEMBERS: IMMIGRATION OFFICE CLOSURE FOR SONGKRAN Remember people all immigration offices in the country close at 4:30PM today (Friday the 11th) and will not re-open until 8:30AM Thursday the 17th If you have a stamp that expires on a day the immigration office is closed (weekends or holidays) and you go the very next day the immigration office is open you can get your extension like normal (you will get an overstay stamp in your passport but will not be fined) I would hazard a guess and say that ALL offices in the country will be mobbed with people next Thursday when they re-open and if you don't have to go, DON'T.. Borders are open like usual, they don't close for holidays Have a Safe & Happy Songkran everyone !!
  3. My question to you would be, what does this have to do in the least with visas, entry, extensions? You're not even wanting to exit/re-enter at the Burma border there. You're just wanting to go to a border town. If all you're doing is meeting Burmese in the town of Mae Sot go do it. The worst that will happen is they won't let you into the town.
  4. Both the Mae Sai/Tachleik and the Mae Sot/Myawaddy borders with Burma are closed to foreigners, and have been for close to several years now. You're not going to bounce out/back at those borders no matter if you're just trying to get a new 60 day free entry or activate another entry on a valid multi-entry visa. You wanna bounce up there you use the Lao border crossings at either Chiang Saen or Chiang Khong. Mae Sai & Mae Sot are open to locals only (Thai & Burmese)
  5. ATTENTION ALL MEMBERS There is updated information from TAT on how the TDAC (Thailand Digital Arrival Card) program will work It will go live the 28th of April so people arriving May 1st can apply AND It will have Thailand as a choice in country of residence too https://www.tatnews.org/2025/04/thailand-digital-arrival-card-system-set-to-launch-on-1-may-2025/
  6. Nope a border pass is just that, the pass neighboring country passport holders get at the land border to come into thailand for the day those people are exempt The way it reads is ANY foreigner coming in free stamp (visa exempt) Visa On Arrival, with a valid tourist visa, with a valid Non-imm visa, OR with an extension and a re-entry permit has to fill out the form
  7. It would appear that the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (the system that replaces the old TM6 paper arrival/departure cards) has an operational website.. It would also appear in the user manual that this is for EVERY traveler who enters thailand by air or land Here's the link; TDAC Thailand Digital Arrival Card They have good video about how it works and the user guide is also easy to understand. Other than the earlier announcement saying it would start May 1 there has been no update Just wanted people to know it appears to be 'up and running' 🙂 /Edit by Maestro UPDATE on 4 April 2025 Jump to this post: https://aseannow.com/topic/1356064-thailand-digital-arrival-card-tdac-system-is-online-but-not-announced-as-starting-yet/page/8/#findComment-19709723
  8. Sadly your friend was told incorrectly, and once the Canadian embassy stops issuing the affidavit of income from abroad notary document there will be no way for Canucks to show income in Canada. The only way they will be able to show proof of funds for monthly income method will be to transfer in the minimum required amount per month, each month, every month, for the previous 12 months before they apply for a new extension. Just like every other country whose embassy has stopped issuing that affidavit. There is no in country work around, there is no document you can show from your country, once the embassy letter stops you are done showing proof of funds in your country for monthly income method
  9. What is the reason you are not applying for the yearly extension based on marriage to a thai? Do you need extra time for your funds to be seasoned and that's why you're going for the 60-day one-time visit Thai family extension? Most offices require the same documentation that you would present for a year extension except you do not need the photos or or the bank documents. TM 30 Lease Landlord id, House book Wife ID Wife House book Both marriage documents (Kor Ror 2 & 3) Data page of you passport Entry stamp Print out of the PDF file that is the visa TM 7 application w/passport photo That is usually what is required at most offices but remember there are over 80 offices in the country and each one marches to the tune of their own drummer. It would behoove you to have your Thai wife call the immigration office you deal with and ask them the exact requirements at that office for that extension. Remember you do not want a 60-day extension based on marriage, they will tell you there is no such thing, because there isn't. You want the 60 day extension specifically for visit Thai family,
  10. Totally common to be required to provide the year transaction detail report showing EVERY transaction on the account for the previous 12 months They usually require this for both banked money method AND monthly income method by international transfers That's because no one updates their bank book enough to catch every transaction (especially if you have a card or the app) so the ONLY way immigrations can tell you met the seasoning requirements (800K for 3 months after the extension was issued and then never below 400K the rest of the year until it's back to 800K 2 months before your extension application) is to have you do that year transaction print out.. Chaengwattana usually requires - standard bank letter (just the account number, your name/passport, the date they wrote the letter and the balance on that date) - year transaction detail print out (broken down by month) - updated bank book the date you apply for the extension - copies of the current bank book pages (and if you swapped out bank books because one was full during the year, bring the old one)
  11. Just so you know, those 90 day report appointments (at least for Bangkok) book up FAST This is the only appt date available this month Plus they only release appts one month in advance (that's why next month there is nothing available after the 15th)
  12. There is no longer a 90 day reporting app for Immigrations in thailand You use the 90 day report web-portal at this link Immigration 90 day reporting link You get to it from the main immigration website Main Immigration Website You want this choice Now to make an appt to show up to do your 90 day report you want to go to the main immigration office website and you want this choice When you file a 90 day report online, the second you submit it you get an email that says this [𝗧𝗠.𝟰𝟳] (𝗣𝗔𝗦𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧 𝗡𝗢 : *********) 𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗠 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗘𝗡 𝗧𝗢 𝗡𝗢𝗧𝗜𝗙𝗬 𝗢𝗙 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗬𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗟𝗢𝗡𝗚𝗘𝗥 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗡 𝟵𝟬 𝗗𝗔𝗬𝗦 𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗘𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗗 That email only means you submitted a 90 day report and is actually worthless 😛 Then you wait to get either this email [𝗧𝗠.𝟰𝟳] (𝗣𝗔𝗦𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧 𝗡𝗢 : *********) 𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗠 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗘𝗡 𝗧𝗢 𝗡𝗢𝗧𝗜𝗙𝗬 𝗢𝗙 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗬𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗟𝗢𝗡𝗚𝗘𝗥 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗡 𝟵𝟬 𝗗𝗔𝗬𝗦 𝗛𝗔𝗦 𝗕𝗘𝗘𝗡 𝗥𝗘𝗝𝗘𝗖𝗧𝗘𝗗 Which means your report was not accepted OR This email [𝗧𝗠.𝟰𝟳] (𝗣𝗔𝗦𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧 𝗡𝗢 : *********) 𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗠 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗘𝗡 𝗧𝗢 𝗡𝗢𝗧𝗜𝗙𝗬 𝗢𝗙 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗬𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗟𝗢𝗡𝗚𝗘𝗥 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗡 𝟵𝟬 𝗗𝗔𝗬𝗦 𝗛𝗔𝗦 𝗕𝗘𝗘𝗡 𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗗 That email will have a PDF file attached that is the receipt you filed a 90 day report online and have the date your next 90 day report is due
  13. The overstay under 24 hours no fine rule is ONLY for airport departures. You stamp out by land and you're fined for every day starting with day one. As long as you stamp out by 11:59PM the day after your stamp expires you won't be fined for overstay BUT you will indeed get a stamp in your passport in thai saying "overstay under 24 hours fine waived" remember as soon as you hit 24 hours overstay you will get fined 1000baht (for 2 days) 🙂
  14. Thanx for the update, You are correct 👍 NOW the appt you book online has it's own queue number on the emailed confirmation and that number comes up on the board in front of the cubby you go to for the extension. Yep, if you change bank books because one got filled you have to have that book with you too, even though the year print out of the transaction detail shows every transaction on the account for the year.. Most bangkok banks have that "dot matrix" printer paper for the year statement that has the bank logo on it
  15. I think you're confused 😞 You can file a 90 day report in person from 2 weeks before the due date down until 1 week AFTER the due date. <- Going to file a 90 day report 7 days late doesn't get a fine, The 2000baht fine starts on the 8th day 😉 He goes exactly one week late each time to get that "free month" after a year of re-porting..
  16. You could be like a friend of mine down here in Bangkok, and file your 90-day report 7 days late every time 😮 Which he brags, gains him an extra "free month" every year after four reports..
  17. You would be hard-pressed indeed, to find a worse border to try to bounce out and back at then the Aranyaprathet/Poipet border with Cambodia. I don't know who suggested that you use that border but you should rabbit punch them in the head. . You're lucky you even got back into Thailand at all, and many many people every week are turned back and told they have to fly into Thailand that they can't enter by that crossing. You need to count your blessings, and pick another border if you're going to bounce out and back again. It appears, from your story, that you didn't extend any visa and instead bounced out and back to get a brand new free 60 day entry stamp..
  18. And that's exactly what you would do You would continue to meet the banked money method seasoning requirements of the current extension you're on (800K baht in the bank for 3 months after the extension is issued and then the balance can't go below 400K baht the rest of the year) AND you'd also be transferring in a minimum of 65K baht a month, each month, every month so you can use monthly income method for the next yearly extension I would pull the balance in your account down to UNDER 800K after the 3 months so they're not tempted to just give you the extension based on banked money again next year (having it under that 800K but above the 400k minimum required balance means they HAVE to accept the monthly income method by international transfers 🙂
  19. You DO need to transfer the stamps before you do your next 90 day report You might as well "make a day of it" and go get the stamps moved, then file a 90 day report in person to get the new passport in the system PLUS you'll need to file a new TM30 with the new passport number or you will not be able to do 90 day reporting online you have the transfer stamp form and you need all the copies it says You also need to update your bank book the date you apply (no bank letter needed) and make a copy of the first page (w/your name account #) and then the last page that shows the balance You most likely won't need the credit advice print outs to show you've been transferring in a minimum of 65K baht a month since your last extension BUT if you have them take them 🙂
  20. These are the bigger companies that "push paper" <- get visas/extensions for people in Pattaya Mots TikTok Maneerat Travel Farang Thai Visa Pattaya Annie Visa Pattaya M Thai Visa TVS Visa Services Pattaya So Good Visa Service
  21. Post your question in this Facebook group Thai Citizenship Group https://www.facebook.com/groups/thaicitizenship/?ref=share&mibextid=NSMWBT There is no group on the interweb that has more accurate more up-to-date and better answers than the thai citizenship and the people that participate in it
  22. You can indeed go from a visa exempt entry to FIRST a 90 day Non-O visa based on marriage to a thai and then after that a year extension for the same reason In Samut Prakan you need a MINIMUM of 15 days left on your current visa exempt entry stamp OR 30 day extension from that stamp You have the 400K baht in a thai bank account in your name only, you have the required documentation, TM30, lease, owners thai i/d, house book, wife's i/d, marriage certificates, bank letter, bank statement, updated bank book, photos, filled out TM86 application for visa and 2000baht You apply, they will give you a receipt showing you come back for the "results" in 2 weeks On that date you go back with the passport, they will ink in the Non-O visa stamp it used, and then a new 90 day stamp THEN you wait Until you have 30 days or less left on that 90 day stamp AND your 400K baht is seasoned in a thai bank account in your name only for 2 months, You go back with all new documentation (same stuff you used before but a new set) and a filled out TM7 application for extension, pay the 1900baht, You will get a 30 day under consideration stamp, You go back on that date and get the year extension inked into your passport <- THEN you buy a re-entry permit if you want to leave the country during this coming year's extension period
  23. You're being told bad information, or you're confused a bit Your immigration office was just making up nonsense about the age disparity, etc. They can't issue the visa anyway. No immigration office in the country has issued the Non-O visa based on trailing spouse of a retirement visa/extension holder for quite a long time now. AND No thai consulate in the world will sell a 90 day Non-O based on trailing spouse if you're on a Non-O based on retirement. Only the Non-OA visa you get in your country before you come here has the option for a spouse to get a 90 day Non-O and then piggy bank on your stamp. Even agents can't get a 90 day Non-O issued inside the country from immigration offices for spouses of Non-O retirement holders The 'work around' is to get her on an education visa, extend that one time, and then switch the reason for the extension to married to a foreigner on a retirement extension. That's the only way it can be done. So that's your option... And in the mean time, make sure your marriage is certified by what ever country you were married in, that it was stamped by the that embassy in that country and then translated and stamped by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs office here too, or your not going to be able to use the marriage as a reason for her to piggy back onto your extension
  24. I would say no need to mention. Seeing as there is no category of the DTV Visa based on having Thai family it would be an irrelevant addition In fact, it could be looked at in a negative light by the embassy 😮 and they could wonder why you don't have a non-O visa/extension based on marriage to a tie or raising Thai children. 😕
