The media labels all speculations and allegations which they don't approve of as "conspiracy theory". If you take this at face value you need to stop and think harder. We know about "state run media" but what about "media run state"?

that may look bad but he probably has a really big magic amulet so I wouldn't worry too much. -

Save The Children Urges Action on Child Road Deaths in Thailand

They're part of the problem. They would throw such a fit if they couldn't speed and drive dangerously. Seriously you can't help you these people unless they want to be helped.- 80 replies

Save The Children Urges Action on Child Road Deaths in Thailand
NorthernRyland replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I always cringe so hard when I see some parents speeding on their motorbike with one or more little kids (probably no helmet too). I understand if you can't afford a car but you don't need to drive like a fool either. That's just being low IQ frankly. Road safety is beyond much of the Thai population. Most adults here drive like we did when we were 16, young dumb and full of cum. If you can't figure out what a safe speed when driving is and respect basic rules by the time you're old enough to have kids you're beyond help.- 80 replies

Frozen in time: British expats losing out on pensions in Thailand
NorthernRyland replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
What do Thai people do about this? I always you hear you can't get health insurance past a certain age but isn't that the entire point in the first place? Maybe it's because you needed a certain number of years paying before you reached a certain age? -
if I was an American with say USD 5k/month budget (not so uncommon) and I was thinking of where to retire that Thailand would be lacking because I couldn't get all those goodies I can get back home. I don't see higher budget retirees choosing Thailand over other locations, including Europe and anywhere else. At the end of the day Thailand is still a low budget destination in my mind.

Really? Since COVID it's gone downhill as I understand but you can get 5 year old cars for cheap in the US. Used car market is far more expensive in Thailand. I think an equivalent worker in the US will be getting a better car for the same amount of hours worked. That brings up another point. Thailand may be affordable to us importing our money from abroad but how is it for Thais? Despite all the pains currently I still think a low wage worker in the US has a higher standard of living than a Thai.

Yeah the little coffee shops have gotten quite good recently. Good coffee shops in the US often have pastries though and those are sorely lacking in Chiang Mai and when you find something good they're quite expensive in relative terms, like $3 for a tiny piece of pie. I love Thai food and eat mostly that but it's often low quality. I don't mean bad (I prefer it) but it has little meat for example and mostly rice. That's why it's cheap. US lacks cheap restaurants with small portions and I really love that about Thailand. I always struggle to find food I like back home now and it's always too much money and too much.

Massage and hair cuts are the best value of money I experience here. The massage is not as medical as you may find for 20x the price in the US but for enjoyment it's an amazing deal. Hair cuts I prefer over USA any time but a wealthy person expecting a pristine salon would be disappointed. Not me though I love the Thai barber shops. They have a cozy feeling I don't get from the bland chains that liter America.

Thailand is cheap because it's lower quality. That's just a fact as far as I'm concerned. But is it a good value for money? I think we all agree it is or we wouldn't be here. When I go back to US is very apparent how much things in Thailand are lower quality but you get what you pay for. We know that going in and I personally enjoy the more simple life anyways so it works out perfectly. I think people with serious money and expecting a high standard of living would struggle here. Sure you can lock yourself down in the most affluent parts of the country but you need to leave your house eventually and then you'll experience what the real Thailand is like.

From what I can see Chiang Mai is booming. The new 5 year visa could drive thousands of more people here. For me though it's only getting worse.

well guess what happens when a bunch of low income black people move into their area? doesn't even need to be African-Americans. Give them the Haitians and Venezuelans they have some much compassion for.

White liberals love diversity until it moves next door. If white America wants to survive their only plan needs to be working with blacks to build low income housing in white liberal suburbs. Do this enough and they'll eventually go full racist and back down.

Thailand for me is like Gandalf in the Shire and going back in time. Very nice experience. Sadly the Thai's are lacking in civility and this is my #1 complaint here by far. They are meek and deferential people but lack general concern for others.
-
Exactly. There's a big backstory to their document and lots of media covering it. It's pretty infamous now. What's happening is that America is showing serious cracks with its radical multicultural project to reduce the original population to a minority with non-white people from the 3rd world. They're learning in real time there's things like "Thai time" and now cultures are clashing. Next time you try to hire a black person to meet your diversity quota you better not complain she's 30 minutes late on her first day. That's racist and the legacy of white supremacy. Also she deserves a raise bigot. White Americans are finished unless they get on top of this real fast and gain some racial conscious. There's billions of people on the planet and they're going to keep coming until there's nothing left of the country.

Thais are not more civilized or trustworthy than most European countries or other Asian countries even. They have many good qualities but those are not their strengths. Superior at what exactly?

There are painless injections I'm sure. Fentanyl is dirt cheap and gets you high before die in a state of bliss. That's what i would choose.
