  1. Imprisonment of the people allowing/aiding in breaking the sanctions. Russian Boeing aircraft should not be re-fueled or repaired in Thailand. The people allowing these actions may face legal action. Thailand and USA do have extradition treaty allowing people who are "wanted" in USA to be sent to USA to face legal proceedings.
  2. Apparently fueling Boeing aircraft owned/operated by Russian airlines qualifies for sanctions. Just Google using "turkey boeing parts russian" You'll find some stories about Turkey has received notice to stop refueling Boeing aircraft operated by Russian airlines.
  3. Tough to copy a jet. Flight tracker says they are flying BOEING 767-300 (twin-jet) into Thailand
  4. Russian airline Azur Air is flying Boeing jets into and out of Thailand on a daily basis. These jets require parts and maintenance. Is Thailand supplying Boeing parts or maintenance services to Russian airlines? If they are, it would be contrary to USA sanctions. Thailand could face imprisonment, fines, loss of export privileges and other restricting steps if Thailand provides spare parts, fuel and other services for the U.S.-made planes that are being used for flights to and from Russia
  5. The important part of replacing AC is to get inverter ACs. I got 2 Hitachi 18K BTU about 5 years ago, still going strong. They replaced 13K BTU Mitsubushi AC, one still working, one broken. The old ones are worth money, even if they are not working, so make sure you get some salvage cash for the old ones. I sold one the working one for 2000 baht, and the one that needed a new compressor, for 800 baht, to AC guy installing the new inverters. Another point is, up size the new inverter ones, one size up. This way when you flash them, they will cool the place quickly, then throttle back to maintain the temperature. The final part is supervise the installation. Make sure they pull a good vacuum on the lines. All breaks in the lines are brazed together, not compession fitted, and each line is individually insulated, not put together inside one closed cell insulator. Also specify you want a plastic enclosure for both lines. Go around to bigger appliance stores and get the best deal. If you are buying 5, get ready to negotiate.
  6. The bank and the bank employees should also be held criminally liable. The bank employees should be jailed, and the bank should pay a fine 5 times greater than the money taken. The sole job of a bank is keep people's money safe from loss and in this case they did not fulfill the fudiciary duty.
  7. There should be prison time for the criminals. This is a major problem with Justice in Thailand. It seems the Judges don't punish many criminals, they just try to return things the way were before the crime. There should be major punitive damages awarded.
  8. After it is cancelled, it can't be re-activated, it is permanently cancelled.
  9. Germany could provide a lot more military support for Ukraine. Compared to other EU countries, they have provided miniscule military and financial support to Ukraine, based on GDP size. (see https://www.statista.com/statistics/1303450/bilateral-aid-to-ukraine-in-a-percent-of-donor-gdp/) Germany just keeps on supporting the Russian agenda, and obstructs the EU and other countries from helping Ukraine, especially when it comes to Leopard tanks. Germany doesn't want Ukraine to win and is trying to delay Western proper military support as much as possible. Germany and France are just making token gestures to Ukraine and sending bandages instead of bullets.
  10. Thai punishment for people causing motor vehicles accidents are tiny, especially for personal injury accidents. The punishment, when cause bodily harm to a person by motor vehicles, criminal law 390, should provide a minimum fine of 10,000 baht or more plus optional prison sentences of up to 5 years
  11. 6,200,000,000 baht for water for 6,000 households means the cost for each household is just over 1,000,000 baht. Must be some influential people living up there to warrant such an expense for infrastructure or the construction company will be handling some heavy brown envelopes. Surely there are better ways to improve infrastructure that will benefit more people.
  12. There are money back guarantees in Canada, its called the Lemon Act or CAMVAP, which covers 94% of new car sales in Canada. You can get 100% refund on the purchase price if there are too many repairs on a new vehicle or even some used car. Used cars have to qualify. Had a friend buy a new Cadillac, dealer had 3 chances to get it running properly and never did, so he got 100% of his money refunded. But this is Thailand and many Thai find it very difficult to ever give back money after a sale. It's very difficult to get a refund on anything in Thailand. When I was looking to buy a vehicle in Thailand, many times the date attached to vehicle advertisements was first registered year rather than the manufacturing year, and the dealer didn't tell me it was the registered date, had to look at the manufacturing VIN plate. Many used vehicles had accidents and weren't repaired properly, many had been flooded or had power train modifications from original manufacturer specifications. It was too risky finding a good quality used vehicle at a fair price so I ended up buy a new vehicle from a Toyota dealer.
  13. Many of the bars on walking street don't open until 10PM. Go see walking street at 12 midnight or 1AM. Also, many of bars have too high prices, especially for bar fines, and takeout services. There are lots of lower cost places in town providing equal or better entertainment.
  14. Locker locks look like cheap wafer locks, maybe 3-5 pin. Maybe some of the keys had the pin numbers stamped on the key. A prior user of that locker could easily have copied the key, or just recorded the key pin numbers and had a new key cut. These locks are really easy to pick, lots of tools on Amazon and Ebay for the job. Not so smart to entrust 10M baht to cheap lock.
  15. Entry requirements were compromised for the Chinese. There was no need to include everyone else, except the Chinese in the new entry requirements. Lots of people who don't qualify for the new entry requirements have already paid for their trip to Thailand and haven't arrived yet. So now they will have to cancel. 2 shots doesn't mean a person doesn't have covid now. It would have been simplier to just require a negative covid test 72 hours before departure for everyone or just the Chinese like most other countries.
  16. What will people do who have already bought, and paid for flights and accomodation that don't have the required number of shots, and plan to arrive in 2 or 3 weeks? The shots have to be at least 1 month apart, and ususally need to be booked in advance. This new requirement for entry hasn't been thoughout properly.
  17. Costa Rica, Columbia, maybe even Panama and Mexico. Forbes claims all of these countries have a lower cost of living compared to Thailand and there are lots of friendly ladies, in certain cities, in all of these countries. The Thai ladies are slimmer than most latin women. Cuba also has lots of available ladies to entertain you.
  18. 1. Foodland 2. Big C - Pattaya Klang 3. Makro Tried Villa - everything is more expensive Tried Best - Use to shop at Best, Pattaya Nua, until I bought imported gin which didn't smell or taste authentic. Complained to manager but no exchange or refund.
  19. A friend who has an education visa and attends Thai language classes, as scheduled, says many students, especially Russians, only come to class when immigration officers (IO) come for an inspection. It seems the non-attending students are informed of the IO visit and then only appear on the IO visit day. It seems someone from Immigration tells the school, and the school tells the students about the planned IO visit. Is this a common practice at most language schools, or just the Pattaya school area? Why aren't the IO visits a "surprise" to really catch the students who aren't attending the classes?
  20. It is a scam because it is fraudulent business deal/practise. Your name shouldn't be in Thai language on vehicle registrations. It should be exactly as written in your government issued identification - your passport. My Thai driver's license has my English name, so do my insurance policies and so do my motor vehicle registrations - they all need to be consistent in case of legal matters like an accident - to avoid any confusion or misunderstanding in a court of law. Also, when the residence certificate is issued, my name has always been in English, exactly as written in my passport. When converting a non-Thai name into Thai language, it is done phonetically. If your name is pronounced slightly differently to 2 official translators, rarely will your name be spelled the same in Thai. The name can easily be pronounced differently by having an accent.
  21. If you loan money and expect it to be returned, it needs to be documented properly. I've seen pre-printed loan agreements in Thai stationary stores. When loaning money, be sure to follow the 4C rules, especially collateral. If you have no document(s), then you might have to hire a professional muscular "collector".
  22. My name is in English in my blue book, not Thai language. The Toyota dealer arranged the blue book transfer. Your are getting scammed if someone tells you that your name has to be in Thai language in the blue book.
  23. When you are about to buy a vehicle, ask the dealer what's required to have it registered in your name, before buying it. In the sales contract, include that the dealer needs to have your name registered in the blue book and it must registerable in your province of residence. No final payment until you see your name in the blue book, unless you are buying a new vehicle or from a reputable established dealer. Even with a tourist visa, or visa exemption, you can get a residence certificate(RC), ususally same day. Just tell immigration why you want the certificate, pay a fee, provide proof where you live. I have obtained multiple RC in this situation. Even my Toyota dealer asked if I wanted the vehicle registered in my girlfriend's name. NO way!
  24. Lots of software available and used by many agencies in many contries, including Thailand, that can hack your phone. The software can be bought, leased, rented, and also for one time use, you could hire someone in one of those agencies to do you a favour (or a brown envelope service), and hack someone's phone. Checkout Pegasus, which is spyware developed by the Israeli cyber-arms company NSO Group, just one providers of such software. Nothing is safe on a phone especially in Thailand.
