Should tell the Egyptian Ambassador and all Egyptian Diplomats they are persona non-grata and ask them to leave Thailand without further delay.

Is the mini-bus driver charged with anything and is he in jail? It sounds like a criminal act to me. I hope his family/wife demands a huge settlement from the insurance company and the bus driver. Also hope the driver's license is suspended for life and gets a minimum of 10 years in jail, with no parole.

Saw rooms here for $40 USD or about 1200 THB around December time frame. Pretty amazing, doubt they'll be much to celebrate this year though.
Usually the cheapest room was about 3,500 baht and maybe 3,000- 2,600 per room for groups, depending on the size.
I think they want the hotel to get to at least 80% capacity before starting to raise the prices.

Sounds like a good kick start, but is it sustainable with heavy discounts?
Some guests had a free food and beverage coupon for 1,000 baht. I wonder how they got the coupon?? Super busy at the hotel on Saturday, should be the same on Sunday. The pool and restaurants were overflowing with guests. This is probably because the special holidays next week.
Don't know if the discounts are sustainable. Don't know if they are making a profit but any contribution to reducing fixed costs/overhead is good.

Isn't the Government fronting up for the discounts ... and discounted flights?
Government discount program registration starts July 15, so no government fronting at this point.

International passenger transit flights through Taipei are now allowed based on a few conditions. So now you can fly EVA from BKK to TPE (on BR212) then to SEA or YYZ or somewhere else. Please note this transit can stop, on short notice, at anytime if conditions related to virus change.

Are there any viable modem/routers available that are suitable replacements for a TMN cable provided modem and router, model HiInternet RL804W? This modem/router has fiber optic cable input into the internet, wifi, and 4 Ethernet ports, so a replacement would need fiber input.
I'd like to get something more modern, with dual band wifi, firewall, virus checking, VPN capable, etc.. Possibly just replace the modem part of the RL804W, and then use an ASUS AC1900, or something similar.
Also, would I need to extract the login password and id from the existing router and input it to the new one? Has anyone any experience in replacing ISP provided modems?

The point is that if your Thai visa is expiring, and you can't renew/extend it in Thailand, you can leave Thailand as the law requires you to do. You can go to another country, perhaps not the one that is your top choice, but there is at least one country that will let you in and that is your passport country. There are flights out of Thailand to get you on your way.
Just because you have money to spend doesn't mean Thailand wants you here. Move along and go to another country or comply with Thai immigration law.

Just FYI, even Thai immigration, bless their inept heart, understands that many people cannot return to their countries because their borders are closed just like Thailand did to its citizens.
Try sugar in your coffee sweetheart. It helps.
Most countries, even though the border is closed, allow its own citizens to enter.
What country is not allowing its own citizens back in?

Hard Rock is rocking! Over 500 guests at the hotel for this weekend. Room prices have never been lower, other things are also discount.

Pattaya Hard Rock Hotel opened today July 1, and some guests are already checked in. Looks like the bottom has been reached and business will just get better from here. Hard Rock cafe and Soul lounge are still closed, but the pizzeria and star diner are open, as well as the main bar. Rooms are heavily discounted!

Come to Pattaya to see even worse sidewalks. Even the main police station, on beach road, block the entire sidewalk with their sign. Pedestrians have to walk on a 3 lane road to get by. This is one of busiest sidewalks in the entire city.

With the current economic downturn due to the lock-down and lack of tourists, are there many people unable to make car/truck payments? How long do banks, lenders and leasing companies wait after the payments stop before repossessing a vehicle? Where are the repossessed vehicle sold? Has anyone every bought a repo vehicle?

My favourite places haven't increased their prices in the last few years and certainly for alcohol the last increase I remember was a direct result of the government increasing the tax level. I guess they must have good landlords. Som.emay see this as an opportunity to lock into a good future deal if the Covid crisis results in a lot of vacant units, as you say better to rent than buy.
Don't forget another silent major expense. My friend had to close his bar after 4 entities asked for payment to avoid business disruptions. Just couldn't make enough to care for his wife and child.

Currently, Thai exports more than it imports. Until it imports more than it exports, THB will continue to strengthen. Additionally, BOT has lots and lots of restrictions on THB movement, especially on exporting the currency. It is far from a free market currency.

Please read post #23 and the entire judgement which explains the law, relevant cases, and analysis. Canadian sanctions on Iran have no relevance in the case.

Argentina's currency is going in the tank. US $ are needed. 1 USD = 68.2569 ARS (argentine pesos). Argentina is defaulting on their debt. This may the best time in a decade to take a look at Argentina, especially if you like beef and wine!

My American friend leaves BKK for SEA via South Korea May 27. Flights are booked through Delta.
Doing the reverse, will probably be in July at the earliest.

First step is to get the land into her name. Second step is to create a company, where you own 49% and she owns 49% and 2% by another Thai, recommended by your lawyer. Then have the shareholders appoint you, irrevocably, as the managing director and president. Next, transfer the land to the company, and all chattels, buildings, assets on the land to the company.

If the aircraft are rented, then they are not Thai airline's assets, they are the owner's asset, whoever has legal title or ownership. It is just like when you rent a car. If the rent is not paid, the asset must returned or vacated - very simple. Normally, the rental contracts are written that if the rent payment is not paid when due, the owner can reclaim their asset and file claims for late payment, lose of use, repossession fees, legal fees, etc.etc.

Thai airline bonds and debentures are rated higher than Thailand's sovereign debt by TRIS, debt rating agency in Thailand. That in itself is remarkable.
There is just too much BS surrounding the airline, and its finances and its management. Best for the government to deny all financial support and let management find financing elsewhere. Fire entire board of Directors, all executives, all vice-presidents, CEO and all that reported to the top 3 levels, at a minimum.
DRAIN THE SWAMP!
