Yes, a concept.
Interesting that it's a truck based on an existing SUV platform, rather than the opposite approach from many mainstream manufacturers that don't primarily design for third world markets.
If you understood the definition of a third world country and therefore third world markets, you might then realize that your comment makes no sense.
To give you a clue Thailand unlike Switzerland has never been classified as a third world country.

Interesting that the British Foreign Office sold their beautiful old "National Trust Property " land for a one off gain when the land was bequethed to them in the first place by Rama 5 (I think), to Central who had so much pull with the powers that be that they were allowed to demolish it & build another b,,,,,y
shopping centre for greed.
Now the Empire finds itself paying rent to the Colonialists.
Oh, how the mighty have made themselves look stupid
I didn’t think Britain had much of an Empire these days I thought they gave it away along with an invitation to come and live in their country.
Just for the record Australia ceased to be a Colony many years ago, or to be correct several colonies.

To my latest understanding, Australians are not allowed to leave their country, unless they have a very special exemption given by their Government to go overseas.
That exemption you would not get as a holydays tourist to Thailand.
I stand corrected if I am wrong,????
You are correct, Australians have to apply for permission to leave the country and I cannot see a holiday in Thailand being approved as a reason.
The government are also restricting the number of flight arrivals which has resulted in many Australians still being stranded overseas.
To top it off if you got permission to leave and managed to return, after enjoying your 14 day quarantine in Thailand, you face another 14 day compulsory quarantine in Australia for which you would pay $A3000.00 for one person.

In reply to the OP, I couldn’t agree more. Hysteria it most definitely is! I fear it is being used by this non-elected government to a) control its population and keep them in fear, to try to prevent them from protesting about the failures of themselves (which clearly isn’t working) and b) reduce exponentially the number of foreigners in the Kingdom (which is working well).
So what are the governments of other countries such as Australia and the U.K. using Covid as an excuse for?
In those countries people are and have been facing more stringent restrictions than in Thailand, I haven’t heard of the police in Thailand fining people quite substantial amounts of money for breaching restrictions as has happened in the above countries.
In NSW in Australia the government was proposing prison sentences of up to six months for breaching restrictions.
I think you are suffering from a clear case of paranoia.

Thanks, appreciate the advice and good thoughts! It will work out somehow at the end I hope, but it feels hopeless when the authorities are working against you, for no reason... My missus will have to stop working as well if I leave, as I, just like you, am the one staying home, taking care of our daughter, as the missus works 6 days a week... The bigger issue with me leaving, is my daughter growing up without me being there, and it might be long until Im able to see her again, if I have to leave.. Just quarantine is 10 + 14 days, then the "waiting list" and applying to be allowed to enter...
Im positive for now, that I will find a solution, but its hard not to be frustrated by the way things are done here at times...
Wish you all the best, good luck there as well, nice to have some good people helping out, giving advice, some good thoughts in these frustrating times, highly appreciated! I know, jai yen yen, I try, but not easy when everything that matters to you, are basically taken away from you, if even just for a shorter period of time ????
I don’t want to sound callous but it’s not the end of the world if you don’t see your daughter for a few months or even longer.
This has happened and still does to many children for many reasons some never get to meet their father.
My eldest sister didn’t meet our father until she was about two years old due to my father fighting overseas during the Second World War she survived without any problems because we had a loving mother and I am sure your daughter will be the same.-

some people love to be unhappy and revel in it, creating a drama from an unsatisfactory life. It's probably what they witnessed growing up in the interaction of their parents (or lack of). The well adjusted don't constantly whine about life..
I didn’t know that you knew my sister and brother who both fit your description.
It has nothing to do with the past family life or our parents as both myself and older sister are both very happy people.
I suspect that part of the problem is that the two miseries don’t drink alcohol !!

Don't they just love to rip off a farang if they can..
We have a Ford Everest... Very rarely do I take it to the dealers..
So do I and I wouldn’t take it anywhere but the dealer, never had a problem excellent service and the servicing charges are published.
Other places you are likely to end up with lower priced Chinese parts.

Plenty more dead in SEA than recorded due to no testing and village hospitals that don't perform autopsies
So please tell where are they?
I live in the North and we are not aware of anyone amongst our extensive group of friends and contacts who have contracted Covid let alone died.
Doctors and Nurses are well aware of the symptoms of Covid and do you really believe that they would leave themselves exposed and attempt to conceal the information in some way.
I find it hard to believe that if a patient had been admitted to our local hospital displaying the symptoms at least one of the two hundred or more nurses would have spilled the beans.
Sorry that it doesn’t fit your conspiracy theory.

Hi,
im not sure about the documents but i dont think you need anything to get a driver licence. Your retirement visa should be enough. If you want the car on your name, yes you need residence (again not sure if the yellow book would be enough or not). No rental document needed as the house is your wife's.
A lawyer or agent can do all for you in few days for some extra bucks.
Whether you need a residents certificate from Immigration depends on the DLT office where you are applying for the driving licence it can vary from office to office.
My local office in Chiang Mai Province require the certificate but at the head office in Chiang Mai City they will accept the pink ID card in lieu of the certificate.

As my father was born in the U.K. I obtained the passport for our daughter about 4 years ago.
I used Key Visa as to me it was worth the cost, it saved two trips to Bangkok including airfares and overnight stays.
The service was excellent.

Why don't they source it out to be done like many other government works is done theses days? or that they jealously guarding their rights to monopolise this lucrative money making entreprise too much to let outsiders a peace of the cake?...
I have never paid for lodging the ninety day report or confirming my address after returning from overseas, so how is money being made?
Creating jobs yes.

Seems 1 rule for the rich and wealthy and powerful and 1 rule for the poor lovely Thai people
IT IS TRUELY NOTHING BUT PATHETIC
You think it’s any different there, read the post about Kerry Stokes and his ability to avoid quarantine there were article were in the Australia media just after Anzac Day.
Meanwhile a couple of days ago some people were fined five or six thousand dollars for breaching travel provisions.
NSW has introduced jail sentences of up to six months for breaches.

As Brunolem suggested maybe you need to transfer to an account in Canada then use one of the services to transfer to Thailand.
I have a non government pension from Australia which goes into an Australian account then I transfer it here.
Its a very simple process and doesn’t create any problems when applying for the Retirement Extension.

If they are the tiny wasps as described by Worgeorgie they are very aggressive and will attack as a group if disturbed.
We have large gardens and over the years find they tend to make a nest under leaves or other cavities they can find.
If bitten I have a problem for at least three days they itch like crazy sometimes turning into blisters.
I don’t know of any deterrent apart from regularly having a good look around preferably with someone who has good eyesight you will usually see some flying near the nest.
I try to avoid chemicals but for these wasps I have an aerosol of insecticide in each hand.

Thanks,
I just called the number and they confirm that I must goto Laksi first to renew her thai passport.
As my daughter entered thaialnd using her Thai passport, she must leave Thailand on her Thai passport.
Draconian <deleted> Thailand well niffed.
What’s draconian ?
Like many other posters on this site it seems you want the rules to be made to suit your situation unfortunately it doesn’t work like that in the real world.
Both my wife and daughter have Thai and Australian citizenship and passports.
We travel extensively and when we leave and enter Thailand they use their Thai passports and elsewhere their Australian passports, what’s difficult about that?
Also for the Thai bashers, as far back as I can remember we have always been processed together in the Thai passport line.

Wouldn't that be pleasant! the winters would preferably just be a week or so though! The winters in Isan are cold enough for me, just short and unpredictable, houses here not built with cold in mind.
Apart from the decent quality garden tools, near everything else on the OP list is available here, just a pain locating and much more expensive, not so sure about the "kids"! ????
Be nice if we could buy a tax free car here every ten years like you can in Malaysia on a retirement visa!
I couldn’t find a decent garden fork here but found a website where there was a great range of tools of all types I ordered the fork through a place in Chiang Mai it will certainly outlast me.

If you are an Australian citizen I doubt a passport can be revoked for any reason, certainly not by the ATO for owing them money.
If you hold dual citizenship the minister has the power to revoke the Australian citizenship for terrorist related offenses, which means you lose the passport, but not if it would leave you stateless.
The ATO as you say does not have that power.

who will they test it on?they keep saying there r no cases here?if its not ready till the end of next yr what is the point?it will be gone then,we see a massive 100% increase in cases and a drop of deaths at 70% from the hi point several mnths back, this clearly indicates the virus is burning out in terms of its ability to knock you down ,its weakening as it replicates ,look at the figs, just like SARS covid 2 did.i can hear the screams fromCNN already
The government has never said there are no cases here and have reported even in the last few days on those returning from overseas who are infected
Don’t you follow what is happening or would It spoil your fun as a Thai basher.

What is unbelievable is to find normal this kind of obstacle course to enter a country.
It was easier to visit the Soviet Union during the cold war, and yet the would be visitors were rightly bitching about the paperwork.
And the worst is that there is no end in sight for this madness.
Meanwhile, European people, with far more dire covid 19 situations, are moving freely within most of the EU...without disastrous consequences...
Try getting into Australia, unless you are a citizen, permanent resident or close relative you cannot.
On arrival you are taken under escort to a hotel room that you cannot leave for two weeks.
I have an elderly friend in the UK and because he has some health issues has been confined to his home for 3 monthsLook was is happening around the world.

UK Farangs Receiving a Capped State Pension
in Home Country Forum
Posted
I worked in the U.K. for several years when younger and was surprised when I retired to find that I was entitled to a part U.K. State pension.
I received one of these life certificate forms last week dated 3 Aug 2020, so either Gemma’s advice was incorrect or the DWP were slow to implement the policy.
