  1. Sexual discrimination - most foreigners are unaware - they also use prostitutes.
  2. in places like Phuket and Samui it seems that agents will "talk" to local authorities and visas/permits for just about anyone with money to spend THey really need to look at the gyms, dive schools and property agencies and clear pout all these people who are taking advantage of the Kingdom.
  3. this is a statement of your own ignorance rather than an intelligent examination of the root reasons for prostitution.. my ex summed it up perfectly when she said "I feel sorry for them" "What, those girls?" I asked "No" she said, "the men".
  4. You just keep on trying to justify it - in the face of logic and reason.
  5. An appeal to antiquity/tradition is a common logical fallacy - you seem to be justifying the oppression of women.
  6. Not the right description. People knock China by alleging military expansion or shoddy goods..... none of this could be further from the truth.... it is this "generous funding" that we should be concerned about. China is inveigling its way into all aspects of life in most countries in S.E.Asian region. Businesses, infrastructure, universities etc etc. There may be I stant benefits but in the long term they are indebted to China. Even Australia is succumbing to this. By fixating on the wrong issues, the West is allowing S.E. Asia to sucede to China.
  7. Underlines the fact that the sex still relies on exploiting women in poverty.
  8. the two reservoirs used also supply other areas in Surat and NST - they too have water shortages. Samui has very small reservoirs and aquifers
  9. look again, you'll see where they were fitted!
  10. trouble with those smaller trucks is that they may also have been used to empty septic tanks!
  11. the ppipeline comes from a reservoir.
  12. depnds on how much the local topography has been changed by development etc.
  13. you just can't properly visualise those figures.
  14. No such thing - Camembert is origin protected....which BTW under EU regs Stilton no longer is so it can be copied throughout the world. It is also symptomatic that Brexiteers know so little about "the good things in life". Your comment about British cheeses just shows how little you know about world cheeses and the varieties available - bet you don't even know where Cheddar is.
  15. iff your ddress is on. work permit, that is enough.
  16. not such a plan if you are locked in a cell.
  17. It is a sad fact that the average Brexiteer is so dim that they can't even understand allegory but prefers to rely on prejudices instead of rational thought. PS it's spelt "sauce" and that would be vinaigrette.
  18. He will be given a different visa that allows him to be kept in custody.
  19. Brexit has killed all the agricultural export markets and reduced farmers subsidies No matter what they do, you can't grow avocados in UK nor Camembert
  20. Brexit import charges will ‘cripple the industry and drive up food prices’ The government has been trying to hide this for years but now it is coming into force...... https://www.thegrocer.co.uk/brexit/brexit-import-charges-will-cripple-the-industry-and-drive-up-food-prices/689956.article?fbclid=IwAR3FPx1wep5OwHdwXBQA5ULGiMzJXCKleMnUhuhE4oKjQxv7UME1DFw8QiQ_aem_ATYZcysZnvraCBPsjBg5XEG0IreC5UdALXC3klA59nLBDVigGyXm5FyQ6Zi0jtwNWdQL9ntg00ntN9KVqJjJX8od .
  21. so what are these 'margins" - and is it only motorcyclists who "ignore" them?
  22. 1 - the law - If you swerved, it's your fault. Simple. You re meant to drive in such a way as to stop before hitting an obstacle in front of you. 2 - To understand roa safety you have to stop using the blame game and take a holisitc view of the situation.
  23. I used two of Seatrans ferries a couple of weeks back and they were, quite frankly, scary. As i lived on Samui for some time I use both the mainland vehicle ferries many times and with a lot of trepidation. I've spent a lot of time on ferries around the world notably the Spirit of Free Enterprise - you then spent a lot of time looking to see what makes a boat safe in the event of a mishap and the Seatrans I went on did not inspire confidence. The design of some of the boats and the vehicle decks would not be acceptable in many countries the life jackets were not properly accessible I've ever seen thm moving with the loading doors open. I don't know how often these boats are inspected, but I do know how insectors are "treated".
