if i stay in 3-4 Airbnbs in BKK with a trip to up country and a trip to CR do I need to do Tm30 each time I return to BKK?  i will be on a visa exempt.

it seems all roof top bars are 15000/pp and up.  i like the idea of river walk area.. yes a taxi may be impossible.  IS grab still up?

Yes she is different  than many.  Hopeful  that things work  out but I take rach day as it comes.  Most of my life has worked out well.  Old gal compared to my grown  daughters but plenty youthfull looking for me. I'm well read on all the risks of a Thailand woman.   But life isnt a train on rails.

we are leaning this way.... GF suggested dinner in Asiatica already.  thanks for your help. She has lived in BKK for long time but is not familiar with the nightlife or  many fancy restaurants.  at least that is the story. I know the risks.  im not that old at 59. 

how am I pussy whipped?   I have lived enough and looked enough and feel this woman is special and we could be happy together for more than a night.  perhaps I am a better hunter than you or not jaded towards women ?  I fully understand what is available to a man like me in SE Asia.   We all get to live life how we want.  I may make mistakes along the way but that is life. You maybe should worry about your life and not be so mad. 

But This thread is just about enjoying a NYE night out. Things like this require planning.  It appears many couples  are booking nights out as many places are unavailable.  I just finished a task here and just was able to book a trip to Thailand. 

there is a difference between a 20 year old bargirl and my "old  Woman" for sure.. but I can tell you she has a better body than 50% of the young bargirls and a more beautiful face than 70%. and a few hundred thousand less miles on the suspension.  How many of those 20 somethings have 1 or more children? and other gifts to give you? or do you like wearing raincoats your whole life?

I know there are those of you guys 60+ who have no interest in forming a friendship lasting more than 20 minutes with a woman.  that is fine. its your choice.. I can't stay up till 2 or whatever don't be silly. I just have not partied that much in Thailand after 10 I must admit.  I've had my party days amd dont miss them.  I like the river  fireworks idea.  The Hilton has no rooms.  I'm working on reservations for dinner and night out. Perhaps mixx club but can do that any night. Yes crazy house.  You think I would take her to a <deleted> go go bar?  One of my favorite things to do is to go to SOI cowboy and drink a beer from 8 to 9 during the happy hour on a seat overlooking the street and watching all the workers come to work and grab their food. Taurus sometimes families are walking by and people taking video for their blogs. It's best to sit by the one store that's mid Ali to watch the women buy fresh fruit at the store and and pick up supplies for the night. I find it a fascinating People watching place. One time I even saw the husband of a hotel owner go down the street and when he saw me he tried to hide his face. It's also fun to watch the foreigners with their wives walk by and see me with my beautiful woman and wish they were single.

I tried  rat but it was in a stew.  Buying the rat at a roadside stand like scoring a kilo. Then watching  the lady make as fire to burn off the hair rat still intact.  I had issue when I had chunks of tail bone in my spoon.  That looks similar to a bbq smoker.  I wish more street food was cooked in a closed slow smoking method where the smoke permeates the meat I think there is a big growth potential for slow smoked pork and chicken and I guess rat.  I also offer to help the cook cut up a chicken at a school cafeteria one time. But like an American as I was about to throw away the viscera I was scolded with such dread.   I don't know why they like to keep some of those intestines to cook?

Just because someone has never done something doesn't mean they may not like it.  Where do you imagine this discomfort comes from is it a class  distinction she feels? I just thought it would be nice to show someone what it's like to celebrate in a room full of nicely dressed people at midnight.  Maybe the countdown  a toast and midnight kiss. I'm not sure about Bangkok, when I've been to thai bars,  it's so crowded,  loud,  amd they stand around at their table and  dance inhibited and drink so much.   IT can be a rather  fun night at most USA  bars  on NYE.    It's a   fun bar  night like Halloween.  I just thought I would try to give her a fun new experience.   I don't think soi cowboy or Nana Plaza are on the menu for this night but the night I took her to crazy house they set us on the stools four feet from the stage stairs and it seemed to be a rather naked night at that! That was  a bit to much for her first time. 

Not sure on the cost but  I would say in the USA I could have a pretty fun time for 3,000 Baht at a bar.  they usually have a  cover charge on New Year's Eve.

It looks like I will be in Bangkok for the new year.   Considering taking a non partying serious GF out for her first real NYE party night. 

Please give advice and approximate prices and clothing requirements because she will need a party dress because she only has the one I bought her before.   She is the darker-skinned Isaan gal and I don't want her to feel too intimidated by the hiso women but at the same time she has reason to be more proud about her future than most of the hi so women in Bangkok. And she is beautiful and more fit than  many half her age. 

For some reason when I land in Bangkok from Mountain Standard Time I become a zombie at 9 p.m. for the duration of my trip.  This year I will try to make it more like 11 p.m.

I think I read somewhere where you need to have a prenup translated to Thai and it needs to be reviewed/explained to her in private by her with her own a lawyer. 

I agree with the OP.  Why so many negative attacks.  I dont think many travelers to Thailand know about the  exchange rate tipoff.  Even the best exchange places take 3% or so off FX it seems.  OP points out that now one bank has rates 8% different  just floors apart.  Just think of how much money is made because of the need  to exchange all these different currencies in the world.  I'm not a crypto fan or anything but one currency in the world would decimate many lazy worthless people's livelihoods. I am against anyone making money for doing no benefit to society.

 Someone is so ignorant to even say I just use the ATM machine. They don't even know how bad the exchange rate is using an ATM.   Just because all airports do this doesn't mean it's right. I have a choice to not eat popcorn at a movie theater but when you come to another country you need currency just to pay the taxi if you wish to take the taxi. If it's your first trip you may not have any type of pot stashed away like I always carry a thousand Baht or so just to get on the train or a taxi to BKK.

I do worry about this  demand for family support  in my future, even though my GF and o have had an extensive talk on this subject.   Not sure if she understands that  our future de po ends on this next egg or she sees it as a pot of gold.  But I will walk  if she gets greedy. My fallback is the weekly rental program. 

As it happens I broke all the rules.  I met her in BKK and on Suk.  Its hard to believe such a good girl can exist like her.  Normal? No.   What is normal in your home country?  

What age is op? And what age does he seek?  Where does he work? Where does he plan to live? Is his income normal? For Thailand  or his home country?  

I have not used  dating sites for over a year but I found many good women.  I skipped over the obvious working girls and ones with sexy dress amd poses or bedroom poses. I skipped the ones with pictures taken all over the region on trips I'm fancy fashion.  I found many Good  ones  as in very high morals,  maybe they lied but many said only had 1-2 lovers before. Educated, good jobs, cars, house,  land.   Some had debt.  Met some poor ones too who worked so hard  but seemed so nice.  But as one guy said these dating sites are addictive and I couldn't just pick  one.  Then one day  walking by an xmas display on Suk I spied a gal and belined to her.  Not sure what I saw but natural selection took over.  

I think it's 125% of poverty rate like 21,000 a year. But also assets can be used in addition to that somehow that's not explained. But not the value of the house you live in.
