Yes it can be done, but it's expensive and a lot of her stuff won't be appropriate.

 

We've all mentioned a bunch of stores, Ross, TJ Max, Marshalls, Kohls and thats before you get to the JC Penny's and Macys etc where for she'll be able to easily replace her wardrobe.

 

And on a social acclimatization, shopping at least in my experience is very therapeutic for women, especially as she gets to grip with moving to a new culture. I might add, she's coming on a K1, so she won't actually get her greencard for quite a long while, so won't be able to work.

Going out shopping will be a huge distraction for her until she can get a job!

No no no!   Don't want to encourage any growth in a shopping habit. Yes  plenty of stores here. 

Yes I plan to buy warm stuff.  she will need sweaters, warm clothes, hats, gloves, thermal layers, wind breakers. Down coats, for cold.  

Its such a slow killer so these problems are ignored by government unless it gets in the news enough to cause harm to the 5% pockets. 

how stupid.  must have 6 months contract??  digital nomads dont have contracts and dont always make 50,000 or 100000 on some even salary basis... they are not going to just want to help teach at a uni..  

Good detailed report.    I'm curious if you would have got any refunds on ASQ or flight  if  your COE didn't show  up or tested positive?

A difference for me is I would also have to book post ASQ accommodations and maybe a return  flight.  Maybe I will stay home and get my rotator cuff fixed.

Reminds me of the Xmas I had a job in the electronics department at a department store. Help set up Xmas displays with the hot designer ladies. Then reconfigured displays and some stocking.    There were several of us temporary kind.   there was a spiral trash chute on each floor.  Used for boxes and clean  packing trash.   An input door at each level and an open chute at the bottom.  We learned it made a fun transportation method to the basement.   One time we tricked this one guy to go first and we had a big mop bucket around the corner.   The water  must have met up with him.   555.  We never saw him but we could see his wet footprints on the floor. He just left work quickly. 

Wished we saw this type of crackdown on corruption in Thailand.   All we get is cheap talk and committee that drain more $ from the public coffers.  

Man it must have been a hard code. 

If the real  health impact was definitively measurable it would help.   But like all low level pollution cases over history ot never seems to shake people into  reality.   Except maybe when people glow green.

Frying in pressure vessel is called broasting in a broaster. It did cook good chicken fast.   But I hated all the heat and grease.   And cleaning it every night when I was 15.   I was told all our used fry oil was picked up to be used in lipstick and cosmetics.

Yes sorry. A K1 visa gives us 90 days in US to get married.  Known each other  35 months.   Many of her clothes are never  worn things.   She is thrifty but seems to enjoy shopping.  Buys things but then has no where to go to wear them.  I am not having luck getting her to try on everything on video chat  so we can sort it #1  Bring,

#2 keep at moms for next visit, 

#3  donate.  

I can see she hates idea of tossing unworn stuff.  

I plan to buy her many  clothing items,  But mostly  cold climate  related   stuff and  things required for hiking and biking.   I know extra luggage can be 50$ a bag  but I don't want her to hassle with more than 1 person can navigate in an  airport with.  I will make sure she gets a flight where luggage doesn't need to be  picked up and rechecked in midway like sometimes happens on my trips.   I book direct through airlines  but get this surprise occasionally.   I will meet up with her on US soil wherever that may be.  I do have a SUV but...

I have read DHL is not the most  economical way.   I will call around on Monday.  

If she can pack 15 items om a box for 4$ each it may be worth it.   Would there be customs fees going this way?

I think I will go check some airline sites tomorrow and send emails requesting covid test requirements  of all nationalities.   And  complain if not 100%.   I dont believe planes are safe.   14 &6 hour flight from west coast dont BS  me unless the ceiling and floor had holes and laminar flow I call BS. 

Full 16% drop in my net worth  since my first visit in 2016 @35.6 exchanged. Before I knew about shopping for best exchange booth.   I guess great of one imported all his money to baht or gets paid in baht.
