  1. If you  didnt shop around  you will never know.   At MBK I had a guy quote me a price.  Another day I was told a much lower price by a woman at the same  shop.   There is different qualities of finish on jewelry.  I have very good eyes.  Take a magnifying glass when you shop for gold.  Dont just buy for weight.   Thai people think Thai gold is the only good gold in the world they don't understand 14 karat makes much more durable jewelry and is sold in the rest of the world.  I do have to say the price of Jewelry in Thailand is even cheaper than buying jewelry at a pawn shop locally here in USA.  in my opinion the price for labor is very low.  If a jeweler has to work on a piece of jewelry for a day in Thailand that maybe $30 of Labor.  So it doesn't add much cost.  I tell my girlfriend i buy you  gift of jewelry and if you have man like me and we plan our finances you will never need to  sell it.

  2. So how do things open?  Do you think it's ok to force people to go to work?  All you  opinionated gents can go out and test the waters.  Ok?  I can imagine if I was cooped up in a tiny condo I would be bitchy.  But I have a big house a d yard a d months of projects.   I can ride to world class mountain biking, drive to blue ribbon trout fishing.  I will be staying safe for as long as needed.

  3. So do you have only 1 valve In Shower or do you have point of use  hot water heaters?

So you cant make any changes  from the tanks to the house?  How much room is spare in the tank room?  Do you have a 1500 watt spare power in tank room?  Any way to run low voltage control  cables from house to tank room?  What  temperature would you want  for your cool shower?  Would you want  it cool from start to finish?

Where there is a will  we can do this.

I have never had to hot of a shower in Thailand .  Tried the bucket thing.  Did have some cool showers  in Chiang Rai mountains in Jan.  I need hot water  to feel clean and to be able  to shave.

enjoying a dramatic drop in the number of mosquitoes here in Hua Hin for the past few months.

    most likely the drought.

you see, that is what i do now, count the mosquito population.

Haha.   So bored.  Posting in the visa thread.   I wanted to say one of your boring nights would probably  be a crazy time for me and most.  One thing I do dispose is mozzies. Especially when dengue so prevalent.  I like it here where I can sit outside most nights.  How do they get inside in Thailand when there ate screens?  The shower drains or what?  Thai ones love me.

  5. Just look how much trash is in the Chayo Praya River in BKK.  This guy is onto something.   The klongs are trash bins. But how far away from the coast will he be concerned with?  Proper  litter  control needs to be taught in schools  now!  Just look at 90% of thai peoples yards.  Just look at how trash is just placed on the sidewalk in BKK.  3rd world minds in a wanna be  country  full of lazy people.

  6. Wow 36 pages.   A hot topic.  I wonder how many expats would leave Thailand if this ban was permanent?  I read that mom amd pop stores still sold alcohol?   Was there still product shipping?  Wasnt there a big fine or jail time?  I'm sure all brew pots are now being filled with mash and stills  will be going full steam

  7. I only comment on those who say this friend of the woman  should not even be asking for advice and staying out of it.   Seems normal to help a person understand her options when the mans could try isnt her native language.    I have heard many first hand accounts of husbands who abandoned their wife and kids in Thailand with no support or contact again.  It makes Thailand a 4th World country in my eyes.  But ignorant  non compassionate  men are in control so no reason for things to change.

  8. I found much interference in most of the 4 different condos we stayed at during Jan.  Remote didnt work.  My plan was to use it at MK.  They make many versions.  Some even have wifi so can be controlled via phone from a different country!  I suggest the butterfly  but also the internal probe with g spot.  800 baht x2 well spent!

However I do wonder if proliferation of toys  has contributed to the current condition of Western women.  Maybe Thailand govt has it right not allowing a replacement for a man.

  9. So many thai women with debt.  At least this debt when paid off she will own something.   Many  Thais with debt and nothing to show.  You need to really dig deep with this woman.  Any other debt?  They feel it's not required to be honest with a bf because she feels this debt is hers,  how can this effect a man?  They dont understand financial planning  or that all of couples finances should be thought of in planning.  I decided it was best to ask debt questions early on and find a debt free GF.

  10. Like always I tell you when I did not read each page of this threat before posting. I don't know if I would be bragging about the numbers but they do look quite unusual and good.  I'm not so sure you can say it's because of the Good Health Care system I think there is some other reason that we have not understood yet. I read someone said maybe som Tom is good preventive medicine.    I hope the case of stay low but I cannot understand this unusual deviation from every other country, especially given how many Chinese Travelers were there January and February

The knackering aspect is NOT that there were 30-40 NEW cases a day (actually there were 96 NEW cases yesterday).

The knackering aspect is that there are approx 1100 cases being treated right now with a good percentage of them being on respiratory support (CPAP, Ventilator etc).

Working in ICUs means gowning up with whatever PPE is available. Try doing that for 12 hours a day. I would suspect that even if you are fit, you would not last more than an hour. Remember, all staff are involved in lifting patients so that they are rotated, constant clearing of airways, monitoring meds, detailed recording of vital and other signs.

Remember that you are not supposed to max the aircon in such locations as that will affect the inflamed lungs of covid-19 patients. So you are going to sweat in whatever PPE you have to wear.

Remember that there will be a percentage of your colleagues having to isolate due to symptoms, positive tests etc.

And while you are at it, there are a bunch of medics looking after all those ICU patients who are not Covid-19.

We are talking about thousands of patients who will stay in hospital for weeks with a high percentage spending a long time in ICU.

    I hope you understand now.

96 cases yesterday.   I thought it was  under  50 last 3 days?

I still dont understand why the PUI number stays  so high?  How long do the test results take?  Or are these just # under quarantine and they  dont want to or not enough supplies to test them?

I'm sure  12 hours on your feet in a trash bag, face mask,  and face mask would be a lot harder than bar stool quarterback.

  12. Yiu guys complaining about the article have terrible comprehension.   It suggests those temperatures for washing clothes.

But on that subject  I. ISA they suggest setting water heaters  to 120f 49c.

If it takes such hot water to clean clothes how is hand washing working?

I would think the soap amd  normal warm water in as washing machine  would work.  O just dont trust most official  words

Wear masks, dont wear  masks(because us rich want to hoard them) now wear homemade cloth masks.  Yes trump  is an idiot and is a major reason the USA is #1.  He has blood on his hands.

  13. I admit a month ago it looked best to return home if you had any decent life there at all.  I also think  koh chang looks like a good idea for a month.  Staying at some of those resorts ,  in your own  bungalow, it would be easy to have big social  distance except at meal time.    Now if you do get sick I imagine their are not many vents on the island but do you farang think you will get a vent in XYZ city  if the crunch comes?  Haha

I wish I had spent time in TH in the 90's.   As a man who has lived 80%of his life in the West near  wilderness and unspoiled places and a lover and diver of the ocean, wooden huts on the beach sounds great.  I also still have this island lifestyle fantasy.   Probably since  Gilligan's island.   Who was that little dark hair sensible one?  That was my choice.

I like to imagine life 200 years as go when I travel.  Life must have been hard in Thailand but I have met s few gals  who I can imagine to be hard working partners.   Of course the heat and mosquitoes soon come to mind.

  14. I dont understand why I seem to have dyslexia when it comes  to Visa's?

I guess I've never been an alien before or abducted.  Have you always needed a marriage to be officially filed in the expats home country for a marriage visa? If so why? I thought many just do the filing in Thailand.

How many pages does this end up being? Where do they store all this  paper?  Surely some government top dogs must own a paper plant.  What  pages from the passport are needed?

Does it say  blue ink on the form or somewhere in the instructions?

Why as an American does all this pettiness bother me so much?
