  1. Oh I have seen posters but not replied and apologies to you and yes you must love Thailand as see many of your great posts.
  2. Bertbloggs I certainly won't as many State pensioners here in Thailand receive a frozen pension meaning many have had not one penny increase but there are a fair few who will get it as use an UK address but what happens every 2 years when proof of still alive, the same. Not stating you do this but it happens and people playing by the rules do get penalised. Same as many other issues and the growing minority around the world have this attitude "I will do what I like" and ongoing for decades.
  3. So did you give an address in the UK and you realise Thailand pensioners are frozen???
  4. Wonder if you got round about getting the annual indexation but did you have to supply your address here and you realise it is disgustingly frozen!!!
  5. Dr Jack That was my understanding indeed and been reading posts on here stating do not get a re-enty permit but surely along with insurance. One word of caution and slightly off topic but several years a go I knew a person who was renewing his extension based on being married to a Thai and the local bank stated the money in account was in his name only and they sent it to Bangkok but got a message stating that it was not indeed just in his own name and stated he would have to start all over from outside Thailand ie a non o extension!
  6. Won't you have to start all over again and a non o from start or have I missed something? and surely one needs an reentry permit?
  7. superrai Wonderful post and my family have tried several times for me to be included on the family health policy and no joy at all. Yes they do not take that you supply and keep your wonderful Thai family and provide them with a home and yes some members of family,(though not wife) but sisters and brothers work at the local hospital and that definately not included. Yes, very strange and yes provided for them and yes we wanted to as well but surely something could be done and this has been mentioned by many people before and takes nothing in account of property provided but believe the Thais have to prove that it is their own money. Yeah how exactly
  8. Wow Worgeordie Yes well aware of your posts and wow 35 years and the lead post 4 my Ego very similar to me. I came here with my Thai wife in 2008 aged 58 and like so many others got made redundant a few times so we decided to come here and my dear wife was missing her family and close friends. Yes even at that time the UK was getting in a bad state and thought go for it as though I was not negative but society was even then Yes built property here and yes have really enjoyed the experience but certainly did not have pots of gold and yes 4 MYEgo relied on my savings until my then state pension age in 2015 but it is a bit of a struggle what with a frozen state pension. I have absolutely no home in the UK and just about no family but a few close friends. This Thai pass although linked to tourists and returnees but what happens to us and say wanting to go on a trip to say Cambodia and yes in the past just a reentry stamp but now do we need this Corvit insurance as ordinary medical insurance is not required. Does it affect the present extension and maybe best to travel, if we can just in Thailand. No regrets but as so many stated what happens when the money dries up but we can only do the best we can and enjoy each day as it comes. Of course so many around the world struggling and here the situation far from certain.
  9. Not sure how that would work and tried my local immigration office and just gave me mobile telephone number but would only want to say one Asean country ie Cambodia and how would Thai Pass work then and normally a reentry on extension based on retirement for which no insurance is required Would I have to get Covit 19 insurance and of course my Thai wife is covered on the family insurance. It is basically for visitors and returnees and wish it was less complicated. Yes makes no difference if one support our Thai families and such a shame we providing most of the funds but not allowed on the family insurance policy But that is another subjedt.
  10. Way back and several years ago I got travel insurance and no mention that one had to stay 5 or 6 months in the UK until it was time for renewal. Best stay here in Thailand but even then restricted to go to other Provinces and yes a little self insurance but even with a policy and with no preceding conditions, but once you have this and then excluded from next renewal
  11. Yes being main providers and monies spent on their homes but somehow the Thais have to prove it is theirs re the funds and of course in their names.
  12. Many have absolutely nothing at home or relatives so the streets for many?
  13. Redwood1 Yes that is the way I read it and just Covit and notice the Thais is not needed as apprently covered under family insurance, of which we are not allowed to be added and amazing contribute most of the household expenses but that is bye the bye. This Thailand pass is confusing and trying to get an answer on line and at the local Immigration office and it appears no one seems to know, for sure!!
  14. puchooay No disrespect to you at all but doing things quietly in a village and yeah wagging tongues etc but up to individuals for sure and agree with much of your posts.
  15. lordblackader Indeed and yes not worth the risk and soon gets around and something in life we all have to take risks but yes see where you are coming from We would get caught but they say it comes around but some people just very lucky.
  16. Seedy What is rule 1 lol Sorry and yes it is complicated and don't want to get stranded outside of Thailand Again appreciate it indeed.
  17. Yes, have 2 jabs completed but if you come back in say from a little holiday say for example Malaysia is a re entry permit sufficient or does one have to have any other paperwork. Tod would know and yes before current times you just had to have a re entry permit. Thanks all
  18. Yes have read this and IMHO one would be very unlucky to be found out but appears just not worth it but the same slightly off topic those who give false UK addresses etc to get increases in pension but same thing in principle!!
