  1. Ben tried google and many sites not sure of and seems very technical but will wait until the Euros as nothing as been listed yet Thanks all
  2. Hi Folks I have a maturing debit card coming up and just wondered if any have renewed and think to know the procedure and in my name Yes, my understanding is that the current bank passbook, existing debit card, Thai ID card, British Passport. Anything else but notwithstanding go in to my local branch. It should be straightforward forward but hearing other people with other banks having a heck of a lot of paperwork to do and going back 4 times and they may have had the account in joint names and an update on the old bank passbook. Thanks for any help and appreciate it
  3. Thanks everyone but so few are available know
  4. please, what are the channels for the above matches and it seems there are hardly any left thanks all.
  5. Yes in Kanchanaburi and just on 17 years have never known it to be so very hot and well over a month with temps well in the 100s and don't forget this is in the shade. We had our first rain the other night and we had electric outages and for well over 4 hours but it cooled a bit but not for long and today Monday the temp well in the 40's. Yes, drinking plenty of water but impossible not to have a couple of beers sometimes and that means going down the road for overpriced but cold beer in the past walked to the main village a 10 to 15-minute walk with more varieties.
  6. Mike Thanks again and I really appreciate all the help and information to myself and so many others and lol sorry about the lack if technical terms. At the moment my total income is approx 1k sterling and say exchange rate 42 and not sure what exchange rate would be used but approx Baht 514584 so my tax exemption is higher. Thanks so much, Mike and yes will wait to see about the Tin later on but think I read that even though no tax to pay there could be a penalty charged but not sure of this.
  7. Hi Mike and not directly answering your last post but heard Carl Turner on the podcast on the Taxation of income and seems to be a lot better understood. Mike in addition I thank you again for all your input and yes some other posters. There are still areas of concern and confusion but for the average ex-pats it seems ok but for those very high-income individuals much more complicated. Just to recap my understanding of these new rules:_ EXEMPTIONS AND DEDUCTIONS Over 65 (OAE) 190k Baht 1st Exempt Tax 150k Baht Personal Tax 60k ? Personal Tax Spouse not working 60K? Pension Income including State 100k maximum TOTAL 560K Yes more than the income coming in and no tax pay payable and does this seem correct and then again do we have to fie a tax return in March 2025 Not yet got a TIN as yet? Thanks, Mike and others and for all your help John PS i DO NOT WORK BUT CAN USE THE ALLOWANCES OK? AWAITING A REPLY BUT AS YOU CAN ALL IMAGINE THERE ARE A HUGE NUMBER OF QUERIES BUT THEY PROMISE IN TIME THEY WILL REPLY.
  8. Typical ignorant post but one we used to it for many decades and no one knew about this barbaric policy and we have our wonderful Thai families to look after. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
  9. The same as normal from 650 of the scum and vermin NOTHING GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
  10. Typical ignorant post and no one knew about this barbaric frozen state pension and we love our special Thai families. No, we did not know and this answer is typical of so many over many decades GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
  11. The vast majority of us have nowhere near this figure and those who have a very very rich and many have no property there either. I have been stating for a long time that the financial are impossible to meet.
  12. NOTHING DONE AGAIN AND AGAIN GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR AND THEY WANT US DEAD ASAP SO NOTHING IS NEW THERE THEN 650 OF THE VERMIN AND SCUM
  13. qUOTE Frozen state pensioners beginning to feel the pinch and shocking many with many decades and Asean news and others please get your facts right. Many of us have been struggling for a few decades and looking after their wonderful Thai families as best that they can. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
  14. mIKE Yet again thanks ever so much for all if your hard work and yes there are different reads and on behalf of everyone many thanks and not sure about tax forms etc and never submitted one here. There is a Zoom meeting tonight at 5 pm in Bangkok where 2 tax experts but think you might have covered it. Mike thanks so much for the information and the work that you do
  15. Yes. we have all read and heard conflicting reports on the above matter with no clear instructions but today 24th April see a Zoom meeting with a couple of Tax experts at 5 pm time tonight. We all know Dave Cameron of the UK Government has been over from the so-called UK government and has been heavily involved with this. Cut to the chase all pensions and that including the minuscule UK State Pension and the transfer of monies to Thailand are deemed to be taxable income. We all know that the UK exempt tax for income tax is bout 12,750 pounds. In Thailand, the threshold is these:_ a/ 1 to 150k Bant is Exempt b/ 151K to 300K Income Tax is 5% c/ 301k to 500k Income Tax is 10% d/ 501K to 750k Income Tax is 15% e/ 751k to 1 Mill Income Tax is 20% There are others of course but most will not be in those brackets. Many of us and I have enquired about the addresses of the Tax Office but not one reply and for many pf us we have no tax reference and guess we just have to wait and see. I have not discussed it with my Thai wife as yet as like to keep things and let me do the worrying and let them chase us? One thing is for certain we are going to lose more money and yes less money for our Thai families to live on. Don't the Authorities not know us ex-pats provide the bulk of the money but same same throughout the world but anyway they can get us poor peasants to pay more, they will and more than likely going in their own back pockets and huge bank balances. One question I was asked by a so-called Tax expert is how old am I and am I married? Many of our spouse do not work for a company and do not pay income tax but are they entitled to the first 150k Baht and can be added to their married spouse and do not think so but a strange question to ask. They always state can give you an estimate on the tax we might have to pay but no answers yet and yes it still seems no one knows too much. So we keep quiet and let them chase us and surprised Immigration not asked on our 90-day reporting but stress it is not on the Statute book yet and from 1st January 2024 supposedly. Cheers all
  16. Still do not know how to contact my local MP or a senior government official thanks again.
  17. Angry and so many and bragg about it and the usual honest people get penalised and just hope sine if then get found out. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
  18. I have tried to google for an answer to this to no avail but I want to contact my local MP in Kanchanaburi/ Danmakhamtia and wonder how one can do this, please? Also very active indeed for us the Frozen State Pension barbaric issue and yes how to contact the PM or very high ranking Thai Government Official and to do with a Reciprocol Agreement / Legal Requirement with the UK Government. It seems that there is one with this Imcome Tax on Employment from January 2024 but nowhere near to be on the Statute Book and surely we must be able to get one with this barbaric frozen State Pension issue but we know about all colours of Government in the UK refusing to act on this evil frozen state pension issue for 80 years an issue this year, Thanks all
  19. Thanks all Not sure but anyone confirm please as need to do 90 day reporting 8th April Monday sub holiday Chakri Day 12 April Friday Extra Day Songkran 13 to 15th April Sat/Sun/ Monday Thank you and googled but one is not reliable
  20. Bad enough getting a rep;y from Westminister but do you go through the local Government here in Thailand and googled it but no addresses given Thanks and just wondering or indeed the Government or PM himself Thanks all
  21. Thanks, Mike and thought that but do go over the UK Tax allowance and my Frozen Statepension is transferred directly to my Thai account and do get a couple of small private pensions paid into my Lloyds bank account bank I might just go over theUK personal tax allowance and then get a check later on. So should be ok but who knows
