  1. Many years ago someone at our now non existant bank and think they showed but perhaps the rules have changed since but thanks . Ohyesuare
  2. Thanks, Dr Jack and enjoy your posts but as they say it depends what office and mine likes to see a small deposit but no problem taking out a large sum for a very happy event and still have 800k in the bank.
  3. Hi Everyone Sorry if this has been asked before on other forums Our local village SCB has been shut for a long time and how can one change a maximum amount to be withdrawn from the 20k limit now and believe one can do this via an ATM machine. Thanks in advance for any help and appreciated.
  4. Hi Everyone And apologies if already on forum Yes, I realise the requirements of the minimum 800k being in the bank for 3 months before an extension and my local Immigration likes to see a small deposit each month and on the day etc . There is going to be a very happy occasion in mid January 2022 and may need to draw down some funds and yes my money and this is ok for this purpose. I am just enquiring at this stage and thank you. Have sent a message to Kanchanaburi Immigration and think if I have to and no problems Thanks for any help and appreciate it
  5. Used to know via someone that when he lived in the Bahamas he used to got to the introduction buffets for the tourist and used several hotels for this!!!
  6. Sorry if on wrong thread but do not want to open up too many sites Apart from finding out with the local Government and have not seen any information on when and how to get the booster jab. We are double vaccinated and the 2nd one in October and led to believe in 6 months one can get the booster shot. I realise the medical profession have had this booster but what about the general public and yes those over 70 years old. Thanks all and based in Kanchanaburi
  7. Money for nothing or are you doing on line teaching?
  8. Indeed many here have provided a home and yes the vast amount of expenses for their Thai family and some not quite as old as 77 but yes many from the UK with no home or relatives but yes not sure about Australia but medical cover might not be when people are forced back but something like 6 months have heard but one never knows until one experiences events. Yes as in the case of UK born and bred citizens who have more than paid their share of National Insurance contributions they are treated appallingly, not to mention the frozen state pension which in itself is a struggle as so many of us have certainly not got pots of gold.
  9. Same principle for a loan and substantial one at that and they state it was a gift. Disgusting and part of the extended family and the one owing it passes it on to another relative but not back to you. Yes and they have lots of land and drive upmarket cars like a merc!!1
  10. Yes, by the day and getting more confusing and no way travelling out of Thailand as the risk of getting stranded for myself and many families not on and there is still quarantine in place which so many simply can not afford.
  11. Yes been trying to understand this also and get posts if you worded the question correctly. No ifs and buts I was purely asking the question if one has already the 2 jabs but say returning to Thailand from say the UK and noticed stating that one needs to prove the 2nd jab 2 weeks before departure. Many have this already and we are asking as we have current extensions does this get affected or not. I realise we need Corvit coverage but maybe getting very confused. I was just asking as it appears many families are still being seperated.
  12. What exactly is needed as so much information and was talking about those going to the UK on holiday and then returning and got the 2 jabs and the 2nd one 14 days before travelling and for new travellers not those who have got the 2 jabs already?
  13. If renewing a permission to stay in Thailand there is a lot paperwork and can not find and did not have copies of things but believe the bank and also many copies from other things my wife got but forget the requirements and it can change each year. Can you refresh and remember signing my name on many copies and documents.
  14. Yes for the new ones from 2016 I don't get anywhere near this and my state pension in 2015 and much lower about 113.00 pounds without looking it up and can never make out why the difference . We still paid the same NI contributions and for much longer than what was required too.
  15. I knew the UK state Pension is the poorest and lowest in the whole of Europe and indeed Australia and crikey 50k pension form Australia and the English amount if very very lucky 452 pounds a month and yes converting various amounts much lower than the Australian amount. I see you quoting 10k a month on insurance and this would vary according to age etc Yes as a British person with a Thai family since 2008 it has become increasingly harder to stay here and lets not forget we have a frozen state pension, which never increase one penny each year from when it first was taken out Indeed, have provided my Thai family with a home and just about most of the day to day expenses. Indeed before I reached the then state pension age of 65 in 2015 we managed to live on savings and used to go out a lot for meals and shopping and a little travelling and also a few beers at the time when the exchange rate was a lot more favourably . But the last few years the exchange rates for all of us have badly depreciated indeed and now we have to be a little more careful as like everywhere the saving soon go down Yes a simple life but also go out for meals and yes we have had this lockdown for 2 years. It is doable but as many states what are you going to do when the money runs out. There is never anything they take in to account with houses cars and committment to Thailand and they only interested in the financial requirements to be able to stay here.
  16. Hi There is still a lot of confusion on this with a lot of new and contrasting reports on the last few days and yesterday. I know it is specifically for all those Thais and spouses and other foreign tourists coming in to Thailand and good to see some managed to come in but in some cases a lot or problems. What I am asking if those who want to go to the UK on holiday and they have to show that they are at least double jabbed but these are in Thai and can they be translated and by whom. Also on the return Thailand Pass and there is no expiry date on the registration but noticed a visitor must show have had a 2nd jab 14 days before travelling. This must mean for completely new travelers to Thailand and in any case those going on holiday from here would have received their 2nd jab already and still no booster jab. The Thais need to be registered on Thai and be insured? and the UK husband has to have cover and normally would have a re- entry permit and what Covit insurance does he need to the end of the current permission to stay by means of retirement. This will not affect the current permission to stay but what Covit insurance is needed and for what period to the end of the current extension. Also those who time it right ie come back from holiday from the UK and come back say in February and the extension permission to stay matures March 2022 does taking out insurance for 2 months be enough and also the current permission to stay fine and renewed in February. Am I reading this right? Also it is very complex indeed and does Thailand really expect a huge number of tourists when there are so many restrictions in place and possibly go somewhere else. In addition the ex-pat returning with his/her wife/husband and only needs the Covit insurance. Other than that is to travel within Thailand , if even this is allowed and no restrictions. Thanks all
  17. What??? A Uk company nothing to do with Immigration!!
  18. I was told yesterday he/she? lives in the UK and never travelled outside???? Perhaps wrong who knows anyway lol
  19. People forget that many here have family that are very much loved and looked after as much as possible with a home, car and yes just about everything provided for in as much as how much one can and we have all not got pots of gold but these things never get taken in to consideration and just the financials with staying here and find it amazing not able to be put on the family healthe policy which has been tried several times, Why apart from a money grab!!!
  20. You are very well versed up and living in the UK. Sure you do not come to Thailand and very impressed you know the Thai pensioners get 600 Baht a month but the very poor but not all but the pay very poor, unless you work for the Government and are well looked after.
