I was thinking the same thing when I saw the article, but yet it doesn't seem to have garnered much interest among the staunch anti child exploitation task force on ASEAN now. I wonder what the difference is here. There is one child who is victim to a physical, and possibly sexual, assault. Being stripped half naked and filmed, then having the footage posted online. Then another who is apparently in a relationship with a man of around 50 years of age. If the posters on ASEAN now are that bothered by sexual harm befalling a minor, why are they not leaping on this news story? The only real difference is that this article seems to be aimed at the girl, rather than the man involved.

Unfortunately, Labour have characterised themselves as the party of progressive wokeness. This means they have to back anything that has to do with LGBT, diversity, immigration, etc.. So they've kind of backed themselves into a corner, where anything goes. I think that every party should be agreeing to tackle immigration, as it is becoming a big concern.

Naked British man caught wandering around beach on Samui Island

It's a reference to a Little Britain character who would complain about being "the only gay in the village", yet when anyone suggested that he associate with other gays, or that other people in the village were gay, he would react negatively and refuse to acknowledge them. He would complain about it, but he was clearly very attached to the idea of being the only gay in the village. It's an analogy for someone who wants to be seen as special or individual and is threatened by the presence of others similar to them. I am not accusing you of being gay, nor do I have any issue with gay people. -
News is for entertainment and they probably think that it makes it more interesting to describe them in detail. Why say where it was or when it happened? Why say the car park was private? Why not just say that someone was electrocuted somewhere in Thailand recently? Actually, why report it at all? For people who might go to the car park and be in the vicinity of the fence? It doesn't even specify which venue it was. The whole piece is irrelevant.

I think the problem is that "the Thai way" is what causes results as seen in this news story. Say what you want about how grey, sterile and miserable Western countries are in comparison to Thailand, but to disagree with the suggestion that they have far superior road safety and Thailand would benefit from being more like them in this regard would be madness.

How to get from where they are to where they should be though? If you changed the enforcement tomorrow, there would probably be millions out of work within a matter of weeks. Even if you publicised the crackdown well in advance, many/most would simply ignore it as the law is advisory in Thailand and hardly anyone follows it, especially on the roads.

Another "only gay in the village", "more Thai than you" type. Bingo! -
It was getting a residence certificate from immigration that I was talking about.
