Worked many times in Tampa in the late 90’s, McKinley Drive just down the road from Busch Gardens and 20 minutes to Clearwater Beach. Stayed at a place called Quality Suites, a real holiday crowd, everyone in the pool. We would come back from work sweaty and stinking of oil, straight into the free happy hour ( beer and snacks ) lying on loungers next to holiday makers. Factory got shutdown and machinery went to Chippewa Falls for refurbishing then on to Milwaukee for installation, another couple of years work for me, great times.

30 years Left U.K. in 1995, lived in Brazil for 21 years . Visited Thailand in August 2015 for work, liked it and changed my retirement plans accordingly. Visited Thailand a couple more times before, April 2016, retiring and moving permanently to Thailand. Visited the U.K. frequently over the last 9 years to visit family, last time 1 year ago for my father’s funeral. Will continue to visit UK to visit kids and grandkids probably once every 2 years.

If you are close to your IO I would suggest giving them a visit to find out exactly what they require, we all know requirements differ greatly between IO’s. I renewed my passport recently and visited my IO to enquire as had heard about bank book and 12 months statement ( i think was mentioned somewhere ). To my surprise they wanted photocopies of all stamped pages of old passport and photo page of new, together with application form only so did it there and then, took about 15 minutes. This was Ayutthaya but just an example of how the requirements may differ.

Missing Welshman Found After British Media Reported His Disappearance

According to a FB post from his family trying to find him this is not the first time he has done this, a Thai poster claimed. -
Just to complete my saga: On March 31st I received an email from HMPO stating that the “2nd” passport I had sent to them for cancellation ( to further my renewal ) had been cancelled and was being returned to VFS for my pick up, if I so wished, and to await an email from VFS. On April 11th i sent a reply to HMPO stating i had heard nothing from VFS, an hour later got an email from VFS stating my returned/cancelled passport was ready for pick up in Bangkok. So communication issues are still ongoing and usually requires a reminder email to remind them to do their job !! Note: i didn’t request the return of the passport and expected them to cancel and dispose of, am still deciding whether or not to bother going but probably will if only to use the opportunity to complain face to face about their service.

Condo wants tax details for EV charger ?!
Andrew Dwyer replied to DonniePeverley's topic in General Topics
While the information required and payment methods vary between the Thai EV apps and can be frustrating once you have registered successfully then it is plain sailing. While i have registered and tested 6 apps it is unlikely i will use any others than: 1) EV Station Pluz at PTT 2) PEA Volta 3) EleXA EV Station Pluz is linked to my Bangkok Bank debit card and debits from my bank immediately with SMS message following. PEA Volta uses a wallet payment method which i top up via a QR code. Elexa gives me payment options after charging, i pay via QR code. Depending on location but for me PTT stations are everywhere and the easiest option. -
Condo wants tax details for EV charger ?!
Andrew Dwyer replied to DonniePeverley's topic in General Topics
I think it might be PEA Volta app that requires tax identification. I had the same and put the 13 digit number i had been given for my COVID vaccinations. Surprisingly this worked, i guess the 13 digit number on a yellow book or pink id card would work also ( i don’t have either ). -

Or, the alternative ending. Impressed with Mr M’s extortion racket they decided to release him to continue his work with an aim to poach his ideas to add to their corrupt agenda ……. allegedly .

Electric Vehicles in Thailand

These are the TOU tariffs from 2023: Residential should use the Below 12 kv figures, obviously VAT and FT will be added giving actual charges close to: Peak 7.0 baht/kWH Off peak 3.2 baht/kWh TOU times: No doubt there will be an additional charge for supply and installation of TOU meter. -
The 16e has mixed reviews, it is classed as a budget model but still has very good specs compared with a 10 or 12, but lacks some options found on recent ( 15 or 16 ) Pro models. There are many comparison videos on YouTube where you can see differences and recommendations between, for example, a 15 Pro and the 16e. Difficult to recommend as depends on what your boy feels more important in a phone. While the 16e might lack some features it is a small neat package and the battery life is excellent. The single camera makes the phone more visually appealing imo but obviously lacking Macro and Telephoto options found on other models. I have looked at the 16e and it is appealing but would go for the 15 Pro Max for the larger screen and better camera features. There was very little change from 15 to 16 models so hopefully would find a 15 PM at a reasonable price.

I have, albeit back in 2017, and understand that finding someone to sign off on this in the U.K. can be difficult. I got a letter from my GP stating something about searching through my files and not finding any signs of any of the diseases listed, which i thought of as a bit of a cop out. I had the opportunity to get a signed medical certificate here in Thailand, at a local hospital, for around 360 baht . At the Thai Embassy in London they refused the gp letter but accepted the Thai certificate. As the medical certificate was in Thai and English language i suspected it might work and luckily it did. Sorry i don’t have more up to date information but if possible i would get the medical certificate in Thailand.
