I think you have cracked it, thanks. All good stuff, tbh i haven’t noticed the two greys until it cropped up now. -

Ah that’s interesting, wonder if what i was seeing was me occupying the spot as i tried to enable charging or it was free?, it certainly confused me ! The plot thickens: I just took a screenshot of this: and it is occupied, so the light gray means it cannot be booked. But what does this mean ? : Two light grey and two dark grey ?? -

yes, I figured that the charger was free and as it was 10 minutes past the hour I could use it whether it had been booked or not. When I couldn’t start charging and noticed someone had booked it i wondered if that was the problem. I think that although it does say to lock the car it is not necessary and have certainly stayed in the car with air running etc on a few occasions. -
BYD Seal tips, tricks and help

I think I would rather keep both screens in place and just keep them clean especially after seeing how much could possibly enter the car, but restricting the airflow has also crossed my mind. Regarding this photo, does anyone know the purpose of both these “ radiators “ ?? The rear appears to be a standard type radiator with fan which presumably provides cooling to battery and motor but what does the one in front do ? Doesn’t alter my aim to keep them both clean just curious. -

Thanks PiB, i thought i had heard something along those lines but couldn’t be sure. The reason i ask is: Yesterday i was coming back from a long trip, i knew i would have to charge before arriving home but was not needing to yet. The request for a bathroom break arose and as I had seen a sign for a PTT in 10km i thought to myself “ I’ll top up a bit if a charger is free, if not will calculate/book a charger ahead “. Pulled in and there was a charger free , it was 2.10 pm so I reckoned 20 minutes will be enough. Scanned the qr code, plugged in and it started the process but timed out and asked me to try again, i went through the same again and as it was trying to start charging I looked at the app and saw it had been booked, hence my question. Just to add, have used EV Station Pluz a few times recently, paid directly from my BBK bank debit card and never had an issue. I tried a total of 4 times but it timed out each time, another guy pulled up with the 2.30 pm booking and he shrugged his shoulders at my dilemma, another two EV’s pulled up so I left them to it !! So, why it wouldn’t work for me remains a mystery, in hindsight if I had hung around 5 minutes to see if he had success I might have learned something ! Forgot to do the future booking but drove to the nearest Bangchak and charged at a 50kw PEA Volta , as a bonus they had a great pizzeria in the back Marry Pizzaria on the Nakhon Nayok to Rangsit road if anyone finds themselves down that way. -

What is the ruling on the PTT ( EV Station Pluz ) charger booking? If it is booked does it remain unavailable until the half hour ( okay, 27 minutes ) has passed ?? I had it in my head that after 10 or 15 minutes it became free again ?, maybe I had dreamt that ?? -

Further to my cleaning the radiator and fitting the grill posts a few days ago I just stopped to charge a bit and spotted this !! Quite a lot of leaves and trash prevented from entering the car and blocking the radiator. Due to many fb posts and the photos posted by @mistral53 i feel i only scratched the surface with my cleaning attempt. This next week i will be seeing if the bumper really does come off as easily as shown in my previous video ….. watch this space !! EDIT: I edited the photo as it was very dark. -

Indeed, i have gone for the minimalist view while charging up for a lengthy trip to a family ( wife’s nephew ) wedding and an early start tomorrow . As for the hansum part , at one time I might have been considered hansum but now am just the generic mid 60’s expat avoiding the sun and living the dream 😜 -

Yes, I can move any of the tabs to the “ more functions” page and back again but there are no others than those on the home page …. maybe more will come. Likewise for the Seal, no cabin temp in the car only ext temp, so the cabin temp in the app is a very welcome addition. Just turned the air on remotely ( car is outside of a mall ) to see the reaction time : It was 34° and went to 36° as soon as I opened the air, took about 3 or 4 minutes to get it back to 34° and now going down steadily ….. very steadily !! -

I don’t see that vehicle health tab on my app ( also V2.7.0 ) , a slightly different layout , the more functions button leading to this greyed out vague suggestion of more features ? What i also noticed is the addition of cabin temp on the main page: Is that new ? , I don’t recall . -

Yes agree, expect the GBox thing will fade away without any accountability or solution. Another unanswered question is regarding the sim free data? Some Atto 3 owners have surpassed the 2 year + 3 months mark and have been told that on May 1st there will be clarification. Does seem that Rever’s 3 month + GBox sim swap deal was not thought through ! -

BYD Seal tips, tricks and help
Andrew Dwyer replied to macahoom's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
Yes, seen a few posts to that effect, also seen some posts recommending deleting Gbox and sideloading the newer version ( not recommended imo ). Also some stating to use something called Revanced Manager or MicroG, either way its all way over my head. As always some will be claiming they have a work around or a better solution. Me, I’ll just wait to see what happens thru official channels. BYD, or i suppose Rever, need to clarify the situation, Gbox has put their official statement out and the people will want answers. It was always a radical move to enable YouTube or videos etc to run while the car was in motion. I’d settle for another 5 months of free charging 😀 Bottom line is, for me, GBox didn’t bring anything of much interest, just an easy way to load some apps. Handy to have YouTube ( Music ) etc while you are charging but can be done via the built in browser anyway. All i ask of the centre screen is a workable navigation app, whether that BYD or Google Maps or whoever I don’t care, the charging apps would also be nice to have centre screen also. Will be interesting to see Rever’s response. -

It is all good, those movies might be worthy of a watch as getting around 7 on IMDb. -

The trailer is from a series of Swedish/Danish movies (3) from around 2013/2016. The British version is a tv series of 8 episodes to be released in May 2025. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt27995114/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk -
Well in my case both VFS and HMPO were guilty of errors. VFS informed me that i was okay to renew one passport while retaining 2 valid passports with a covering note on the application form, the correct information should have been that i needed a covering letter from my employer stating why i needed 2 passports, which countries i would be visiting and for how long. As a letter from my employer wasn’t an option i then had to send my “2nd” passport to HMPO for cancellation. While HMPO were terrible at communicating and noted my email address incorrectly ( so i didn’t receive any emails from them, only SMS messages pointing me to emails that didn’t arrive ) VFS initiated the whole comedy of errors in my case. VFS also didn’t contact me to collect my cancelled/returned passport while in their possession, but that could have also been a HMPO lack of communication as this passport didn’t go through the VFS system initially.

Was asked for 800 baht at Ayutthaya IO for a CoR …….. any advance on 800 ?? I believe some IO’s will accept the yellow book or pink id as residence proof, not 100% sure of that . -

My 5 year renewal at Ayutthaya DLT was pretty easy, went and made a booking 2 weeks in advance, 1.30 pm i think it was. Had the online video pass proof on my phone. Watched a short video explaining the process then entered the room with around 7 other people, 1 lady controlled all the tests and stamped the paperwork without leaving her seat, very impressive ! Then downstairs for the photos and the finished license , all done in around 45 minutes to an hour i think with some waiting around before and after the photos. The previous renewal was a shambles, no order and very little indication of where to go or what to do next. -

BYD Seal tips, tricks and help

Found this video about removing the front bumper for cleaning purposes, its in Portuguese ( Brazilian ) but you get the gist. I wouldn’t take the wheels off or jack it up to remove the screws underneath. A multi pin connector and a single connector makes all the electrics simple. Might have a go at this at 40k or sooner if my diy cleaning proves to be ineffective. -

I tried to get some sense from the FB Thai group but difficult to understand and mainly guesswork. Some saying they have infringed the copyright by using GBox in a vehicle ( as opposed to a phone or tablet ) others stating it is something to do with allowing YouTube etc while on the move !! Could be close to the truth i suppose. I I would be happy to be able to use Google Maps directly from the screen as Apple CarPlay version is poor. If BYD gets the in house navigation app to work accurately then that would be great also. Getting the charging apps to work via the screen would be another helpful option imho. Am not interested in YouTube or Netflix. To be honest i was better off using sideloaded apps before GBox !!
