  1. I've asked many of my Thai friends the same question. Why so many Indian restaurants & tailor shops throughout Pattaya?

They just reply that they would never eat Indian food & that they go to a local Thai tailor for any alterations to clothing.

Where is the customer base of people coming to a hot country & wanting to buy suits?

Why are there more Indian restaurants on 2nd rd than even Thai restaurants?

As mentioned by others, most of these restaurants are constantly empty yet still remain open. I've seen western, European & Thai restaurants last a matter of months before closing down.

  2. I tried to get a Certificate of Residence from BKK immigration 1 to renew my 2 yr license and was informed that a METV wasn't sufficient, and I would need a 12 mth Non Immigration OA or O to obtain one. They said I'd need to go to my Embassy for one... Not sure if I have BKK address if I can obtain CR from Pattaya??

I've obtained certificates of residence on 2 occasions from Pattaya and both times I just had a tourist visa.

Because they don't want to accept that they have made, collectively, the most stupid and dismal decision of their whole lives. And, whatever the evolution out in the real world over the next 3, 5, 10 and 20 years, they'll still go to their graves muttering about how they were 'betrayed' by those horrid horrid politicians that they themselves voted for ...

    Here, grab a tissue....

There is a long way to go and it's correct that there shall be tough talks. Nobody expected anything else but most will hopefully see the benefits for the UK.

plus a fee to be paid for the transfer of ownership at the DLT based on the value of the vehicle, who pays it is up to the pair of you to decide

Is that not the 1000 baht transfer fee? I had to pay that to the dealer when I bought a used bike.

Havent heard about a fee based on the value? I've bought 2 bikes from dealers and the other one I didn't need to pay anything.

I believe that most if not all of the terrorist incidents in the UK come from Native UK citizens or those from the Commonwealth. Maybe the EU will be safer if the UK leaves.

Yes, some of the terrorist incidents within the UK have been caused by native UK citizens.

These citizens to the absolute shock of their friends and family, have converted from Christianity to Islam and swiftly followed the path into extremism, having been converted by terrorist supporting Imams living in the UK illegally.

Merkel needs to remember that every country in the EU does not want mass illegal immigration within their respective countries.

  6. Terrible service.

Bought a helmet there & all good but when I returned a week later to buy one of their bikes?

The bike wouldn't start, had a flat battery(I believe) & I asked the girl if she could get it started for me. She told me that I had to buy the bike 1st by paying 150,000 baht & then they would fit a battery. I told her that I can't buy the bike until I know that the engine runs. I also asked her for the bike's documentation. She couldn't find the docs & then told me again, buy the bike 1st before they fit battery. I walked out.

Returned a week later hoping someone different could help. The girl wasn't there but all 6 staff were just sitting, playing on their phones. I checked over the oil levels on the bike and looked around it but nobody came over to help so I left again after spending 10 wasted minutes. I was the only person in the shop!

They had another bike roughly the same spec but it looked accident damaged repaired, Matt paint & 1 or 2 bits missing but at least it started!

I have bought a bike from Mityon Pattaya Tai & got great service. Also bought a bike from Speed republic sukhimvit rd & got great service. For some reason x-speed staff just not interested in helping customers when it comes to bikes.

  7. Policies on preventing future terrorist activities will be at the forefront of this election:-

  8. But this happens in the criminal justice system often. People who shouldn't be released are and go on to commit further heinous acts including murdering policemen. Why is this case  so special? Why does this signify "placing heads in the sand."
And to be accurate, according to what I read in the news, he was imprisoned for attempted murder. Not murder.

Who mentioned this case being special?

I just hope that the person arrested in the OP is not let off so lightly like most other Muslim terrorists appearing to be known by police....

  9. Well, why did you invoke the familes of people who have been killed by terrorists to support your case?  Because they'd be kind and forgiving of people who murdered their loved ones? I don't understand.
As for placing heads in the sand. Presumably in France there are police and prosecutors. Presumably they do go after criminals, including terrorists. In fact, doesn't the subject line of this thread bear them out. Are they placing their heads in the sand by arresting would-be terrorists? Again, I don't understand.

Placing heads in the sand can be in reference to the Muslim terrorist that was released only 5 years into a 20 year sentence for murder in France.

The same Muslim that murdered a police officer earlier today in Paris, all in the name of Allah.

  10. Yes. That's always a wise way to decide policy. Let it be determined by angry and vengeful people. Maybe instead of having police the French should just deputize lynch mobs.

Who is angry and vengeful? Sorry but you have lost me. The only ones that are angry and vengeful appear to be the Muslim fanatics in France. Correct? Or do you mean innocent victims families?

Oh yes the Police. More of which murdered by Muslim terrorists just earlier today.

Another terrorist attack in the name of Islam. Yes maybe you are correct and we should just accept it as the norm. Some people will place their heads in the sand but these cowards should not be allowed to govern France.
