You can't seriously think that??

I could live in any Thai city, besides the deep south. But I have zero reasons to leave Pattaya.

Have a gatorade, it's better than water if your dehydrated.

The recently proposed potential tax assessments

I don't think anybody knows anything at the moment. Just have to wait and see. -
Biden saved from embarrassment, well, more if continued
Trippy replied to KhunLA's topic in US & Canada Topics and Events
Why would I be embarrassed, I'm not the one that sh**s on the only country keeping your country from being annexed by the chinese. You should be ashamed of yourself for all your vile posts about a place you've never been, and that you owe your whole existence to. -

Not ally, more like caregiver. Yes there is racism in the US, but we don't don't pretend there's none, like your insignificant country. -

And every arrogant racist Aussie should mind their own business. -
Hunter Biden indicted on three federal gun charges
Trippy replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Ok, but can't we find any common ground? For example, someone says that the sky is green, even though you can see it's blue, instead of arguing about it, maybe ask if can we agree that dirt is brown and water is wet, then build off of that. I think even the most radical left supporters can agree that Biden is getting old, and the right can agree that Trump says some stupid things. Just those 2 realities mean there is common ground to work from in order to achieve compromise. Does that make sense? It's not easy, but this infighting needs to stop or at least slow down. -
Minimum Wage Increase to Be Proposed to Cabinet This Month

Minimum wage goes up, inflation goes up to compensate. There are no winners, but those on a fixed income are the losers. -

Every one of these political threads are the same. The left thinks they're right, and the right thinks they're right. No compromise, no seeing the other's point of view, no flexibility at all. Just like the real world, everybody is so dug in their own beliefs there can be no middle ground. Very sad we have come to this. -
Thai PM says he opposes the recreational use of cannabis

Back when California just had medical marijuana, there was some doctors offices next door to dispensaries. Get a 1 year doctors prescription, then go buy weed next door. The doctors made a fortune. Can see doing the same thing here. -
What kind of weather person are you ?

That's what my cheap temperature gauge in my living room says, it could be wrong. Doors are open, but the house I'm in gets very little air flow. It does seem cooler outside than inside today. -

It's 32 with 66% humidity in Pattaya right now, and I feel great. I hate the cold. -
No, I don't think so. I don't need to live outside the US just for the sake of living somewhere else. I'm in Thailand because I like the Thai people, and I feel safe here. Never really felt 100% safe in Mexico, and my spanish is next to nothing. Also, I feel like I'm too old to start over again in a new place, and be a greenhorn. Besides, I still have family and friends in the US, who would welcome me back with open arms.

I think whatever may happen, those of us on a retirement visa will be grandfathered in. However if we're not and I can't make the qualifications, I think I'd go back to the US and work part time. I've been to all the other places mentioned, and while they are fun to visit, i wouldn't want to live in any of them.
