I did a first TM30 report when we moved into our house.Since then I have travelled about, including out of Thailand for up to 2 weeks.  When I queried if I needed to report via TM30 again, I was told that my 90 report that I had not changed my permanent address was good enough. TRhis was all at Jomtien.

I have never had too do a 90 Report as I have never stayed longer than 90 days.

  2. There have been many posts on TV re TM28/TM30 and from what I have read there appears to be a lot of inconsistencies depending on what IO you deal with.

Just over 3 years ago I reported to Jomtien with a TM28 as I had changed address, I was immediately ‘wisked’ upstairs and threatened with a 3500 Baht fine. I had mistakenly not reported within 24 hours.

i was there for nearly 3 hours whilst they discussed what to do, in the meantime I was trying too contact the owner but she wouldn’t answer her phone. In the end they let me off stapled the paper in my Passport and told me too ask the owner to come too Jomtien. I eventually got in touch with the owner who said she would go the next day, I am not sure she ever did, this is her only property and I think she was aware of TM28/TM30 reporting.

I have colleagues, house owners who live in Hua Hin who regularly come and go from Thailand, they do 90 Day Reports, renew Visas but never get pulled about TM28/TM30 reporting.

Since moving into the house I have never been back too Jomtien, I never spend more than 90 Days in the country and get my Visa outwith Thailand. This time however I will need to do a 90 Day Report and extend my Visa.

Will I get fined as they will see by my Passport I have been coming and going and have never reported a TM28, the owner lives in Germany so is unaware of my comings and goings, I pay the rent into her Thai Bank Account.

The money must now be in the bank 2 months before AND 3 months after.

I assume this has been mentioned before but I thought the 800000 Baht was for living on so theoretically for 3 months after you get the Extension what are you supposed to live on ?

Again theoretically you only have 400000 Baht to live on for the next 7 months before topping up to 800000 Baht 2 months prior to renewing your Extension ?

Who makes these rules up, they are very contradictory, the 800000 Baht is supposed to be for a year to live on not 400000 Baht.

  4. If I extend my current 90 Day Single Entry Visa by 7 days at Jomtien I will still be 1 day on overstay when I leave.

Does an overstay stamp indicate the number of days overstayed and is it recorded on the system.will it affect any future Visa applications.

i intend to apply for a Multi Entry Non O based of being in receipt of my UK State Pension from London when I am back in the UK.

The alternative of course is a Visa hop to Cambodia, approx. 2500 Baht, cost of Extension plus overstay fine 2400 Baht, is it better too air on the side of caution and do a Visa hop and not have an overstay stamp in my Passport ?

TransferWise should work both ways as far as I am aware although I've yet to use it in the Thai to UK direction.

After all you are only making a domestic Thai transfer from your Thai bank account to their Thai bank account.

Unfortunately TransferWise don’t do transfers in Thailand, I enquired directly with them, if you go on their website I believe it lists the countries who you can transfer money too and from.

I fail to see the problem. Transfer pension to Thai account (so that it shows up on your statement) and then transfer it to the UK account with TransferWise or something (to use while in the UK).

You cannot use TransferWise to transfer from Thailand, they don’t have that facility as yet.

Why not withdraw money change it too sterling and hand carry it to the UK ?

Your Visa became invalid (used) the day you entered Thailand, because you used the single entry it allows.

You were given a 'permission to stay' stamp until 10th March.

You cannot extend a 90 day entry from this Visa type, unless your married to a Thai or have a Thai child.

You can apply for a 30 day extension, which will be subsequently refused, but you will be given a 7 day extension to leave the Country.

You could exit locally and re-enter on a 30 day Visa exempt entry, or apply for a 60 day Tourist Visa at a local Thai Embassy/Consulate, both of which could be extended by 30 days at local IO's.

    Thanks for the info.

If you are married to a Thai or the parent of one you could apply for a 60 day extension to visit them.

If you not you could apply for an extension, pay 1900 baht and be granted 7 days to leave the country. The 7 days would start at the end your permit to stay.

It would be best to do it no later than Friday since your permit to stay ends on Sunday. If you went on Monday you would not be fined 500 baht for one day of overstay but it you did not get it done on Monday you would be fined 500 baht for everyday.

I have a Thai son but if I got a 60 Day Extension it might complicate things. I would be returning to the U.K. and back here before the 60 Days expired or is it a Single Entry ?

I want too apply for a Multi Entry Non O based on me receiving my U.K. Pension whilst in the U.K.

The last time I went through Immigration at Bangkok on returning here my Extension of Stay had a couple of days left on it. I had a new Visa, 60 Day Single Entry from Hull, the IO was confused and I got pulled to the side, ok the other IO smiled and stamped me through after I explained I didn’t have the funds to renew my Extension of Stay.

What form would I need for too apply for the 60 Day Extension and what would be the fee ?

i wasn’t in the U.K. long enough the last time too obtain a Multi Entry Non O from London, I will be this time.

    Read the OP again.

A non immigrant visa allows a 90 day entry.

If that’s the case my Visa expires on the 10th of March which is a Sunday, could I go to Immigrantion at Jomtien on the Monday and get it extended for 7 days or would I have to go on the Friday before the Visa expires ?

What date would they extend it too, 7 days from the expiry date or 7 days from when I went to Immigration ?

If you are under 65 you get free accident insurance with a Bangkok Bank Savings Account

If its free why not but the cover is generally poor. It will be something like 20k. Is it a new offer giving free insurance?

I had no idea I had the it till they told me after I turned 65 I couldn’t have it, it’s via a Be 1st Smart Debit Card.

That information is old and the rules have changed recently regarding opening accounts.

And the "I just opened one with nothing but Visa exempt" are not true unless you had an agent.

Just follow the advice some are giving about the recent rules and requirements.  Do not waste your time with other nonsense untruths.

I opened a new Savings Bank Account at Krungsri in December in Pattaya, all I showed them was my Passport, no agents involved.

  12. Just to clarify a few points,

I have downloaded the Visa Application Form.

    1) Top right hand corner, Type of Viss Required, I put M in the Non Immigrant box ?

    Part 2, Visiting Details.

    2) Purpose of Current Visit, do I put Tourism or visiting family or both.

    3) Evidence Substantiating your purpose of visit
FOR NON-IMMIGRANT OR LONG STAY ONLY.

What evidence do I need too provide if any ?
