You need to check with your embassy if they require your translation to be "legalized" by the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

If needed, you should be able to do it by EMS, but let the Thai mum talk to the department, and agree the procedure, and how the fee shall be paid.

I had to do a legalization for my Scandinavian embassy.

For my sons UK Application no legalisation required, just a stamp from the company in Bangkok who did the translation stating they were certified.

  2. A couple years ago I got my identity stolen in the UK apart from 2 Credit Cards being applied one being successful, £1500 limit from well known CC companies. The person/persons also opened a Bank Account with TSB, they were given a £500 pverdraft, a Visa Debit Cards and all the info too manage the account online account as well.

I was in Thailand at the time fortunately all my UK Mail gets diverted too my daughters when I am away so I managed to stop everything albeit it was over a W.E/Bank Holiday. When I tried too contact all the relevant parties security, they didn’t operate over the W.E. or Bank Holidays, it was over the Christmas/New Year period when it happened.

When I enquired at TSB how any one could open an account online, reply, the government relaxed the rules to make it easier for people too open Bank Accounts. I think it’s because all benefits are now paid direct into a bank account. The TSB rep. did say who ever opened the Bank Account knew a lot of my personal details, I am always very careful and shred any documents with my personal details so no idea how they who ever got my details.

I’m a FIFO on a multi entry 90 day Non-B Visa. I never stay more than 3 weeks in Thailand and have never been to immigration.

I rent a condo in BKK and sometimes go to Pattaya for the weekend.

Does TM30 affect me at all?

I would have thought it was the Condo owners responsibility to do a TM30. Then again if you never go near Immigration no one will know.

Yep, grab a granny night we used to call it in the UK, Halcyon days!

I remember them well in the Mecca Dance Halls, midweek, I was apprentice and when we were working out of town the older fellas used too frequent them, culminating in a few broken marriages though.

And walking straight into trafficking and some really horrible experiences.

In CM the average age is 35  but there are still "new" ones arriving every week.  Most of them don't last.  They either get tired when they find out there are very few customers or then never fully realized what they were getting into in the first place.  But they all still face the same dilemma of 8000 baht per month in a factory or the same in maybe two nights.

A programme on TV the other week, Australian Border Police raided a house, found a Thai couple, they hadn’t been paid in weeks. The employer threatened too report them if they kept insisting, one way ticket back too Thailand penniless after being there for 2 years.

That is one of the funniest things I have read in a long time. Yup they just got their passport went to an embassy applied for a visa by declaring " I make my living on my back". Got that visa, flew on over and are now rolling in the dough.   The comments about the smart phone  or with Tinder  all make sense. Think about who you listen to, bars are not the best place for good information.

TBH it’s not that difficult to get a Tourist Visa too the UK, once they arrive they can just ‘disappear’ no 90 Day Reporting,TM30 etc.

As long as they disappear under the radar they can do as they please, stay as long as they like. If they get caught the UK Government will provide a free flight back too Thailand.

Are you serious? Have you ever been inside the cheapest government hospitals in Thailand? The equipment they have look like they bought it from a museum. The private hospitals have better equipment, better doctors and way better care. Why do you think common Thai people without insurances must go to the government hospital in their Amphoe? Do you think they can pick any hospital they want?

With a simple travel insurance from EU you can pick a good hospital. You are probably one of those who are so scared about a mandatory health insurance. You can always use it at a crappy government hospital.

Simple Travel Insurance, enlighten me, for a start to qualify for Travel Insurance you have to have been resident in the UK for 6 months prior too taking a policy out. I had before managed to to have 90 Day Annual Travel Insurance, I could leave Thailand 1 day return to the UK and when I returned the 90 Day period restarted.

All good till I turned 66, nope no more 90 Day Trips reduced too 60 Days albeit I wasn’t eligible the following years as I hadn’t resided in the UK for the mandatory 6 months.

@Jumbo1968 A couple of examples I know of.... they have not been asked to return to show the 800k after 3 months.

Many get a re-entry permit at the same time as the extension through the agent, a package deal!

I don't believe doing the regular 90 day reports is an issue but agents will offer to take care of it, of course.

I reason I ask is a colleague had the funds when he did his Extension and was given a paper to report back at Jomtien to show he still had the funds in the Bank.

  9. If you use an Agent to acquire the Extension of Stay/Retirement Visa say at Jomtien where I believe they ask you too report back in 90 Days proving you still have the the 800k Bank.

After using an Agent what would you do if you have to do a a 90 Day Report or need a Re Entry Permit, would you have to use an Agent for those as surely Jomtien would ask you for proof of the money in the Bank ?

You can't get a Non Imm O Visa from Hull, only a Tourist Visa.

Non Imm O's are only available via the London Embassy using the new E-Visa online system.

You can apply for an extension within the last 30 days of the 90 day entry provided the 800K has been in a Thai bank account for 2 months prior to the application date.

I believe your confusing obtaining a Non O from a Thai Embassy or from local Immigration.

For entry from a TV the conversion process is 800K transferred from overseas into a Thai bank to obtain the Non O stamp (no seasoning period), then apply for the extension 30 days before the 90 days expires.

The 800K will have automatically been seasoned for 2 months by the time your due to apply for the extension, from when you applied for the Non O.

It's 2 months prior to the date of application for subsequent extension applications.

According too the Consulate in Hull you can get a Non O,
