  1. I don't disagree, I just don't think EVs are the long term replacement. Way too many negatives, environmentally and practically. But I'm probably on the wrong thread to be expressing that POV
  2. EVs...I can't help thinking they are the Betamax of motoring
  3. I'm sure the OP's friend will be really grateful to know it's all his own fault. How kind of you to point this out 👍
  4. Exactly. They've had 60 years of independence and financial aid from the UK and other countries, but they're still a mess. Paying reparations would be like throwing money into a furnace. Enough time has passed for them to stop blaming the UK for their failings.
  5. You got me there 😆 But my point is that serious unprovoked violence on westerners is extremely rare in LOS cities compared to back home.
  6. Walk down the side streets at night in any major UK city, and you're at risk of getting more than a poke with a stick. I feel much much safer on the streets of Thailand than I do in the UK. Maybe it's different in the US... In 20+ years I've never been in in a physical altercation in Thailand. It's not difficult to stay out of trouble.
  7. I can respect strong athletic looking blokes. I aspire to that, but beer, food and lack of will power hold me back a bit. But body builders with all the pec-flexing just seem a bit odd to me. Still, if it makes you happy. There are much worse hobbies.
  8. Wouldn't Hamza just love that. A 'Little Palestine' somewhere north of Edinburgh. There is plenty of space for them in Scotland (70 people per sq KM versus 434 people per sq KM in England). The truth is it will never happen. If the UK offered safe passage to Palestinians they'd all head straight for London and the south east of England. That's why the less travelled Scots often say they'd welcome more refugees, because they have never experienced mass immigration. They should be careful what they wish for. P.S. I love Scotland the way it is. I'd be sad to see it go the way of England (my country) in terms of mass immigration.
  9. No, I'm open minded and can understand both sides of the argument. I was trying to help you do the same.
  10. So what you're saying is that people like yourself (who were fortunate enough to get the attention of the beauties in the ocean) could pump and dump to your hearts' content...but the blokes who the western girls looked straight through (because they weren't good looking enough, or didn't have the gift of the gab) had to just sit back and watch you have all the fun? Not in Thailand my friend. In Thailand the playing field is levelled. Maybe that's what irritates you 🤔😜
  11. Has anyone been to KSR since the latest 'gentrification'? Is it still busy and good for people watching? Still plenty of bars to choose from and street food vendors? I'm taking an old mate there for 1 night soon who hasn't been to Thailand for 20 years. I have warned him it's not the KSR we all knew!
  12. There is a difference between children getting killed accidentally in pursuit of the enemy, and deliberately killing children, killing torturing and raping women, decapitating babies etc. Hamas and other jihadist groups enjoy these things. As for the hospital 'bombing', as we're finding out it's most likely a failed Hamas missile that caused it. Who'd have thought using hospitals and schools as shields could result in an accident like that...
  13. In the UK it's not a blanket rule. Some bars are licensed till 1am, some 4am. A lot of bog standard pubs close at 11pm. But you don't have gangs of old bill going round making sure bars have closed. They're too busy breaking up fights in kebab shops ????
  14. It's not about needing to drink 24 hours. It just gives people more freedom of choice. A lot of Europeans are used to having dinner at 9-10pm. And a lot of Thais work shifts that go beyond that. It doesn't leave a lot of time for partying with current bar restrictions. And tourists don't want to be treated like children. They don't want to see the BiB patrolling bars at 2am making them feel uncomfortable. At 4am it's more acceptable.
  15. It's about getting more tourists to choose Thailand. A lot of tourists won't go to countries where there are strange restrictions in place. Most popular tourist destinations don't tell you it's bedtime at 2am.
  16. Men dressing up in women's clothes used to be one of those fetishes, but these days we're not allowed to call it that. I wonder if by 2034 we'll have to use a pro-noun for men in g1mp masks.
  17. I don't know if it's reading or comprehension you have a problem with. I made it clear Fox went too far. The witch hunt reference was re GB News. Fox has only himself to blame. Please pay closer attention.
  18. What a strange response. I didn't say it was anybody else's fault but his ????‍♂️ You need to calm down.
  19. I don't think GB News had much choice after Fox said what he said. There would have been a witch hunt to get them shut down otherwise. We need channels like GB news to rally against the left bias in the media (BBC, Ch 4, even LBC have become the lefty broadcasting channel). Fox went too far and gave the wokeys an open goal. He's let a lot of people down because his actions mean we'll have one less voice fighting against the woke agenda.
  20. You've proved the point perfectly. This is why calling people who don't support the trans movement 'homophobes' is inaccurate. Because men who dress as women are not necessarily homosexual.
  21. I've met plenty of women who don't want men who wear dresses using their spaces, or competing against women in sport. We probably mix in different circles.
  22. How many women did you ask to reach this conclusion? 2...200...2000? Or are you saying that because you're gay you know what all women think?
  23. It wouldn't have taken long for word to get around - they didn't have to be there
