  1. Agreed. I think about the only areas where the NC30 falls down by modern standards are brakes and the fact that in my view ECU plus injection is better than carbs. I have never ridden a blade but I would love to. Especially fond of the first gen because to my eyes that is how a sports bike should look. And super light by comparison with its contemporary competitors.
  2. I have an NC30 and when I need new radials I put the wheels in the back of the truck and get the tyres supplied and fitted in Bangkok. I can't remember the name of the area but not far from Hualumpong. My point about balancing tyres is that if a dealer sells you a bike new with balanced tyres they should be capable of doing the same process when it needs replacement tyres.
  3. I know how to balance motorcycle wheels myself I am just surprised that a big Honda dealer does not have specific equipment to do this. I was actually thinking of bikes such as the CBR250RR when I made my comment about balancing wheels. That is billed as a high performance bike and costs something like a quarter of a million. There is one sitting in the big Honda dealer near me but they do not have the ability to fit tyres and balance them in the same way as the factory. As an aside billing the current 250RR as a high performance bike is to my mind a bit suspect when you compare it to what Honda was producing back in the 1990s.
  4. A powered tyre changer is exactly what they use for tubeless tyres in the big Honda dealer near me. But they do not have a tyre balancing machine which I find odd as some of the Hondas sitting in their showroom come with wheels balanced from the factory.
  5. Does the Forza use tubeless tyres? Many Thai bike shops do not have the equipment necessary to fit tubeless tyres. My local Honda dealership cannot fit tubeless tyres but the one in the provincial capital 25km away can fit them.
  6. As an added bonus in some areas you have a mosque within range. They kick off really early.
  7. With equipment running on E10 I that can sit unused for up to a month I always drain the carburettor when unused. With equipment running on E10 that sits unused for more than one month I drain the entire fuel system. Anything two stroke I run it only on benzene 95.
  8. If it is used infrequently a better option is benzene 95 if you can get it. Fuels with ethanol in them can cause corrosion problems in the fuel system particularly if left in there for a long time. I mention it because generators are often used infrequently.
  9. There is a guy near where I live who has a BMW GS1200. Pimped to the max with big screen GPS, panniers etc. I haven't seen it move in six months. The only time I have seen it in the wild was at the local coffee shop. He uses his PCX every day.
  10. If you watch the Long Way Down, North to South through Africa, their huge and heavy BMW ADV bikes really struggled when the going got tough despite the fact they had support vehicles. Lightness is always a virtue in a bike and particularly so in an off road bike.
  11. Yes. I think it's actually Rallye but I could be wrong. Prior to that a CRF250.
  12. If you want to see what the CRF300 is capable of take a look at the Itchy Boots videos on YouTube. A Dutch woman riding one from South America to Alaska. She does things with that bike that no ADV bike could do. Also worth watching her videos from a rally across the Kalahari desert on a pretty stock CRF250. She did really well against a whole bunch of super expensive bikes specifically prepared for such an event. Well up to the point where the rear subframe broke because it was overloaded with Jerry cans and a whole bunch of other stuff.
  13. Those are not the only ways in which you can get water contamination in the oil. It is reasonably well known that a succession of short journeys can result in a build up of condensation inside an engine.
  14. It may be the fact that you do a lot of relatively short journeys that is causing the slight milkiness of the oil.
  15. I have been buying bike tyres on Lazada for five+ years. I have never had a problem. Better choice and lower prices than I can get locally. The local tyre shop fit them for 40 Baht a tyre. If it is tubeless I take them to the Honda main dealer and they fit them. I don't remember what they charged.
  16. I would just run it and keep an eye on the oil to see if any milkiness returns. Do you do a lot of short journeys on the bike?
  17. The last time I bought the Stihl synthetic 2T was from the Stihl importer but you can get it cheaper on Lazada.
  18. I hate buying the Stihl 2T because of the price but I still do.
